    Her BEST SCENE in my opinion is when she’s on the phone talking to his friend, and her face is BLANK, yet her voice is emotionally diving up and down to fake worry or sympathy.

      She's a psychopath rather than a sociopath. She, her family, and their entire community are psychopathic in that they are cold and calculating, without conscience or empathy. Like slaveholders and slave societies, like Nazis and other genocidal nations, they have decided that it's perfectly rational and justifiable -- even ethical -- to force one group of people to die in the service of another group.

      Part of the praise is that it's one of the only horror movies in which the black characters "win" at the end of the movie, as opposed to the standard horror movie trope where the black characters die at the beginning of the film. Her performance was so subtle. She just makes you feel like you should like her, and she says all the right things, but there's this uncomfortable gut feeling and this intensity about her that is subconsciously unnerving. You can see why he bought her bullshit, but at the same time there's something *so weird* about how she acts in the cop scene, and her goodness seems weirdly exaggerated. When she shows her cards you hate her *so much,* but at no point did the performance seem inauthentic. She's just a really excellent actress. Jordan Peele has a hell of a knack for picking excellent actors. The leads in US are also world-bendingly phenomenal and he is such an amazing director.

In the play, the Boys are all sent home and they do grow up. I would recommend it. At first I didn’t want to see it because I’m not a fan of horror movies. Then I found out how much research went into it and even knowing some spoilers I went to see because of the great reviews. I go to see a lot of movies, but it’s the only movie I’ve ever seen that had me on the edge of my seat. It’s not just a horror movie, it’s more than that and harder to define.

    I honestly gave her the benefit of the doubt until she was like “You know I can’t give you the keys, right babe?” Like after I saw the pictures I was like man, her mom hypnotized her too! 😂😂 Then I got that she was just evil

    It was an interesting movie with great acting. However, the movie I really want to see from Key & Peele is "Substitute Teacher". When the hell are they going to put that out? That is still the all-time funniest skit.

    Great film, though I wished they had added an entire additional act before the end, which seemed too rushed. Regardless, I’m expecting the film to do well at the Oscars, best screenplay being one of its strongest categories, along with best actor. I haven’t seen such good crying since Demi Moore in Ghost. Phenomenal

      dafttool what would you have liked to see in an additional act? what did you feel was missing from the film?

    • @dafttool
      @dafttool 6 років тому

      Guindo, The I thought from the time he got himself untied until the end could’ve been stretched out more. Granted, he REALLY wanted to “Get Out” quickly, so... he did.

    • @TheGuindo
      @TheGuindo 6 років тому

      dafttool hmm, I thought the pacing of it worked, but I only saw it the once. i do remember being a little surprised at how little fucking around he did; i feel like most horror films would have had the character in full flight mode with fight only when necessary to escape, but he made DAMN sure that if he had to fight someone he was going to kill them.
      Next time I watch it I'll take a closer look at that part and see if it holds up to the first viewing.

    This movie was great - but it seems like about three years ago that it came out!
    Like so many good movies and literature - the first time you are simply trying to follow the story line - but when you experience it again you can focus on the skills of the players, the writing, the cinematography the sound and the directing.
