20 Dollar Gold Piece, Yeah, that makes sense. I imagine if we Americans were exposed to more British media we would be able to pull off the accent better.
Geo as you know there isn't just one American accent. Near the northern states like the Dakotas they sound Canadian. In Southern California some have the "surfer" accent. We have also have the southern and northeast accents that while all sound similar, are different variations of a common dialect. For example, I'm from California and have what would be considered a Midwest accent. My English accent is much easier to do for me than say the New York or New Jersey accent. It just depends. Btw, one of my favorite accents is aussie. I love the way you guys speak out of all the English dialects HANDS DOWN.
The interviewer is sooo good; his enthusiasm and the way he structures his questions is really great... it was more of a conversation than an interview. Loved it👌👌👌
You should check out his other interviews with celebrities. You can see that the people he interviews actually enjoy having a conversation with him because he actually shows interest/passion as well as does his research. The interviewer is a hard core movie fan. A lot of times, he'd mention one of their works/movies from the past that not that much people know about and then you see the reaction from the celebrities and their face light up. He actually makes them feel comfortable without trying too hard.
I mean they didn't spend much right? They can easily faking the fire of the house and they only broke couples of car. Like, it was reasonable for what they did with the movie. Edit: and what made this movie so great is that it is heavily characters' driven.
The male lead fucking KILLED IT. The scene where he gets hypnotized, I WAS FUCKING ENTRANCED by his acting. Amazing. The female lead was awesome as well. That switch up in voice and expressions when she's looking for the keys to when she snaps out of pretending, fucking GOT ME. SUCH A GOOD MOVIE

Another Brit actor doing a fantastic job in Hollywood. Funny to hear SLJ criticise the decision of Hollywood preferring Black Brits over Black Americans, but the reality is, Brits are better trained and actors as a whole. They are more versatile and can act in any role you throw at them. I'm glad that Jordan Peele picked him, as i haven't seen any American who could have touched the level Daniel hit in this film.
wylie richardson I didn't say that all American actors are bad but it's clear that there is a trend from Hollywood to pick Brit trained actors. This isn't a coincidence. Also I'm referring to actors that lack the versatility in America. In my opinion this would go down to training in different forms. You could stick DK in a lot of different roles and he could do a fantastic job because of his training.
I heard Brian White (a black actor, and a very good one) once say in an interview that he had yet to meet a black British actor who wasn't classically trained and hadn't acted in theater. He said that American entertainers (black and white) often just show up like, "Hey man, I can act" with no formal training at all. Of course, many American actors are true professionals and are formally trained, but its seems like there's an awful lot of I-was-a-rapper-comedian-athlete-and-now-I'm-an-actor types out there. Clearly, the British actors really work to hone their craft, and they give exceptional performances. Just look at the fact that only did Daniel Kaluuya master an American accent in this film, but he talked like he was from Brooklyn, no less. THAT is talent and skill.
Don't read this comment if u haven't seen the movie After seeing this movie it felt so weird seeing them be friendly too each other because the performances by both of them were so good. It took me a second to realize they were actors and not who they were in the movie lmao this movie was so amazing
I didn't realize until I saw this trailer that he has a British accent, then I realized why I recognize him...he was in an episode of Black Mirror. And when Allison talks I still only hear Marnie from Girls.
Yo I can't even look at the girl for too long. Her real personality is too close to Rose's! I feel like she's just at the interview to trick us and take Daniel's real brain or something
I loved this movie because it manifests and introduces the concept of indirect racism towards not just the black population but to all populations. Brilliantly done Jordan!
As a black person I would like to say to white people, if you have a black friend or if you want to be friends with a black person, DO NOT treat us differently than you would any of your other friends such as changing the radio station to an urban station just because YOU think we would rather listen to rap. We will accept you I promise :)
bam9042 plus their overall body movement and the way they interact with us is very cringey, either overly-sympathetic or plain awkward lmaooo. I prefer people that I can have a comfortable conversation without any hidden intentions or don't think anything of us but human beings 😆
This movie gave me major chills, as it should to every HUMAN.... such a classic. & I’ve only seen it once but I remember how I FELT when the movie was over. It was a very erie feeling.
A little spoilerish! You know one of the things her father said in the movie that really stood out to me is when Rose and Chris tell Rose's parents about the deer they hit, and her father goes on to explain how he is so happy they hit that deer. 1 down 200,000 more to go, they are ruining the ecosystem, etc... THAT was a direct parallel to how some people view African Americans, or any minority for that matter. Hell, today we see that mentality being applied to immigrants in general regardless of race. It was a freudian slip on her father's part, subconsciously voicing his true opinion about black people through the deer. It was made even MORE powerful because her father then goes on to say "I would have voted for Obama a 3rd time if I could." Dean(the father) represents the niche population of white people that WANT to be seen as racially and socially tolerant, but deep down they are uncomfortable around black people. They overcompensate for their discomfort by making statements like the Obama statement Dean made, basically trying too hard to say "Hey, I am not a racist! I'm 'down my man'." The most poignant line in the movie for me, though, was when Chris calls his friend and tells him how weird everyone is acting. "It's like they've never seen a black person that doesn't work for them before." I've experienced this statement in full effect and found myself sitting in the theater thinking "I KNOW RIGHT!!" In a social setting in which I am an equal, a lot of white people simply don't know how to act. It REALLY makes me uncomfortable.
I liked this movie but now i will go watch it again since i seem to have missed more than i thought. Its as good as Shyamalan's "The Sixth Sense" suspense, mystery reminds me of old Alfred Hitchcock movies. Very well done and I hope more movies like this are made.
Incredible acting. Jordan Peele you are gifted indeed! When I saw the previews I knew I was going to see this film. It reminded me of Stepford Wives. I have to own this movie.
i just watched this film a few days ago and i could not believe my ears when i heard the song at the beginning of the movie....the song was in freakin SWAHILI...i got the chills from the excitement since I am a Tanzanian and SWAHILI is my native language. I was so proud of Mr. Peele...this movie deserves special recognition in Africa..Thanks to the whole team for a wonderful production. Tanzanian East Africa appreciates this effort.
Allison Williams is such a great actress especially in this movie. Her scene when she picks up the phone for Chris and talking to his friend the way she answers it with no emotion, no facial expressions and no gestures is just unnerving and creepy, it gives me the chills watching it.
The part where they did the auction using bingo cards was incredible and the tea hypnosis was amazing. You don't really see things like that in a scary movie and on top of that make it funny. This needs to definitely win an oscar. Good work. Even adding the racism was fantastic. It was on point and it wasn't beating around the bush.
curlsbeyond99 it's a casual interview! So they can just jump in whenever. He's also a quieter guy, so she's just talking to make him feel comfortable, I think
That's how they do it in interviews with two or more actors, they give praise to each other so they seem humble and also promote each other and the movie at the same time. Check other interviews with other actors, you'll notice. It's just it is more subtle because they are not honest with their intentions like this girl.
The first part of the interview with Peele when he says you need to watch it twice was the most true statement. Just thinking back to the scenes after seeing it makes nod my head, I get it.
As a white dude who has been the only white dude in a situation many times, I feel like I can relate to what Jordan said in the beginning a bit. I never felt like a complete outsider, and I was accepted, but there was that feeling of being seen as white first, then as the guy I am. It's just how humans are. We relate to sameness. The trick is to realize, we're all the same, despite our superficial differences.
The first answer: that behavior has a name and is apparently called positive racism. Yep. Something I only just learned about myself and am guilty of and am striving to correct.
At least your honest enough to admit it, a lot of people have a hard time admitting it. Just always remember everybody in this world is different, and what I mean by that is, if you have a bad experience with someone, don’t let that particular bad experience leave a eternal cloud of negativity in your mind. I myself had a bad experience at a young age, and because of that i let it over power my intelligence, until I started college. There I was able to see how wrong I was in my thought process, so i like letting people know it’s nothing wrong with admitting your errors in thinking, it takes a real mature person to admit a mistake, because somethings in life we won’t ever learn, unless we make a mistake.
I knew she was a bad guy from the beginning. That wasn't the twist. The twist was the grandparents being in the bodies of the "servants". This film has more to say than just some racial stuff. It's deeper and more universal than that. Its about anxiety of being subsumed by a managed controlled culture. Do we really have souls or are we just filled up with the values, mores, and outlooks of the prevailing culture we are surrounded by and who controls that culture and for what ends.
That wasn't the twist for you. And even if I suspect her at some point of the movie but it is still a twist ! And this movie does not have one single twist.
78Suhaylah Wilson I don't think she was racist in that movie. Actually she was definitely into black guys - it was easy to see. She just was a head hunter. If was her job to hunt for black guys.

@@stijnvanleeuwen3647 "million dollar merit" or something like that from season one
Yeah, he's a phenomenal actor. I'm sure Jordan saw that too before casting him.
It makes me feel super uncomfortable being the only black person with so much white people . It's like I have to act a certain way
Lol try living in a small town in Europe. :D
adlerzwei I 2nd that!!
ItsAmeraa Back to Africa
Ben Barton man..
You probably also act different in a group of elderly or a group of intellectuals or a group of men, how is that any different?
I only want to see this movie because of Daniel Kaluuya. He was the main character in my favorite Black Mirror episode.
That was one of my favorite episodes too
He was good in Sicario, too.
Is it wrong that the only reason that I know him is because of Johnny English Reborn?
he started in 'Skins' and also wrote for the show as a teen.
he was in skins? what season?
Another Brit actor doing a fantastic job in Hollywood. Funny to hear SLJ criticise the decision of Hollywood preferring Black Brits over Black Americans, but the reality is, Brits are better trained and actors as a whole. They are more versatile and can act in any role you throw at them. I'm glad that Jordan Peele picked him, as i haven't seen any American who could have touched the level Daniel hit in this film.
Tom Hanks isn't versatile? What Brit could have played Forrest Gump as well as him?
wylie richardson I didn't say that all American actors are bad but it's clear that there is a trend from Hollywood to pick Brit trained actors. This isn't a coincidence. Also I'm referring to actors that lack the versatility in America. In my opinion this would go down to training in different forms. You could stick DK in a lot of different roles and he could do a fantastic job because of his training.
Training is one thing, but one must have the talent to back it up.
I call bull
Daniel Kaluuya is bae. Especially with that accent. Love my brothas. 😍
AllEyeSeeAreIdiots he is gorgeous
THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING JORDAN PEELE IS TRULY A MASTER MIND!!!
You aint lyin
mophoo i hope you fart
Christopher Green i hope you fart
And a racist... don't forget that part.
4:23 when he made the face when he got hypnotized I died laughing
Don't read this comment if u haven't seen the movie
After seeing this movie it felt so weird seeing them be friendly too each other because the performances by both of them were so good. It took me a second to realize they were actors and not who they were in the movie lmao this movie was so amazing
Dward O u rite
Dward O if I ever see her Irl idc what she says I am sprinting away
Because of this movie I want to date her and kill her. Such incredible acting!
Asia Williamson it's a clear indicator to what happens though
He's very handsome!!!!
I didn't realize until I saw this trailer that he has a British accent, then I realized why I recognize him...he was in an episode of Black Mirror. And when Allison talks I still only hear Marnie from Girls.
"Consider this shit handled"
"we handle shit"
Brandon Nguyen Instant classic!
will go down as an iconic line.
"That's what we do"
Yo I can't even look at the girl for too long. Her real personality is too close to Rose's! I feel like she's just at the interview to trick us and take Daniel's real brain or something
Taylor Velez True
Taylor Velez she's a good actress that's why she is so convincing
+Kaizoku Ho Ni
LOL. You are so fucking cringy.
Lol it's just a movie...
Wtf lmao
Awesome interviewer. Interviews are so rich when you can tell the person asking the questions is genuinely interested
saw the movie a day early. i LOVED THIS MOVIE! definitely a must watch.
I loved this movie because it manifests and introduces the concept of indirect racism towards not just the black population but to all populations. Brilliantly done Jordan!
steveyk Everyone is indirectly racist
Girl, let the guy talk for a second!
We did a fun Parody to this movie. I look forward to more work from Jordan Peele. Really talented dude!
Omg I love yall
Do you have the parody on UA-cam? I'd like to see it!
aywe
As a black person I would like to say to white people, if you have a black friend or if you want to be friends with a black person, DO NOT treat us differently than you would any of your other friends such as changing the radio station to an urban station just because YOU think we would rather listen to rap. We will accept you I promise :)
bam9042 after this movie, not all lol
bam9042 plus their overall body movement and the way they interact with us is very cringey, either overly-sympathetic or plain awkward lmaooo. I prefer people that I can have a comfortable conversation without any hidden intentions or don't think anything of us but human beings 😆
Lol
Today white people are very often accused of racism. Maybe that's why they behave so awkwardly, trying not to offend.Have you thought about this?
I thought that black people hate it when white people "don't see color" (Im being sincere. I just want to know)
This movie gave me major chills, as it should to every HUMAN.... such a classic. & I’ve only seen it once but I remember how I FELT when the movie was over. It was a very erie feeling.
I've watched it twice lol might go for the 3rd 😂
Keven Morris I watched it 3 times this week, and I'm going again tomorrow with another group of friends 😂
Keven Morris these are one of those movies you only watch once cuz it won't have the same feelings
FC BARÇA nah at least two times so you can see subtle hints that's there's white people in the black bodies and how rose acts
It was made even MORE powerful because her father then goes on to say "I would have voted for Obama a 3rd time if I could."
Dean(the father) represents the niche population of white people that WANT to be seen as racially and socially tolerant, but deep down they are uncomfortable around black people. They overcompensate for their discomfort by making statements like the Obama statement Dean made, basically trying too hard to say "Hey, I am not a racist! I'm 'down my man'."
The most poignant line in the movie for me, though, was when Chris calls his friend and tells him how weird everyone is acting.
Dickson Owusu truee
Alesha A Insurgent?
Dickson Owusu Broooo I shit you not, that's the first thing I thought when he said that line about the deer. It was so obvious too.
Dickson Owusu I can tell by your name you're Ghanaian. I completely agree with everything you said.
Dickson Owusu White people can't make me uncomfortable. Grow some balls
Peele: makes a movie
"What character would you want to play?"
Peele: "the audience"
I literally went out to see it twice already and it's been out for a week
Amaya Millsap I went on consecutive nights lol
Amaya Millsap Did you go with a Black guy?
This is a great interview the interviewer seems to have genuine interest in the questions he asks about the movie
I love the enthusiasm of the interviewer, he did such a great job!
The interview was really fun and interesting to watch
"They gonna make u sex slave" u only know if u watched the movie 😂😭
Edit:how In the fuck did I get 1k likes 😂
"I'm the T .. S .. Muthaafuckkin A!" lmaoo
+Christopher Green LOL "WE HANDLE SHIT "
Christopher Green TSA are just useful idiots for the nwo. they're like rent-a-cop pervs who get off on fondling genitalia
ultrakool ughhh it's a movie...buzzkill 🙄
Supreme Kyra you're gonna gargle mayonaise xD TD
Of course he's freaking English, he was the best actor in this movie! #freakingenglish
Oh my goodness just read me some Dickens and get me some hot coco his voice is beautiful I could listen to him all day.
Excellent interviewer for once, his questions were insightful and he was appropriately excited about the actual film 😄 job well done to him

he's so dark and handsome
JimboParadox you are a type - it’s called, racist
Kel Loves orange soda no he doesn’t
Kel Loves orange soda ironic.
Ever Young yup😍
He's captivatingly gorgeous.
I have to own this movie.
give this mans an oscar RIGHT TF NOW
mar camacho He was nominated today along with the director, the screenplay and the movie👌😉
Agreed! Daniel was great!
i just watched this film a few days ago and i could not believe my ears when i heard the song at the beginning of the movie....the song was in freakin SWAHILI...i got the chills from the excitement since I am a Tanzanian and SWAHILI is my native language. I was so proud of Mr. Peele...this movie deserves special recognition in Africa..Thanks to the whole team for a wonderful production. Tanzanian East Africa appreciates this effort.
My goodness, what a fantastic interviewer! And what a fantastic director Jordan Peele turned out to be! 2017 is looking to be a good year for film :D
Wow the male lead is British 😀
JordanjamesX still black
Lady A
ok
JordanjamesX and your point is....?
Yeah I first saw him in black mirror and when I saw him in GET out I was like..."wasn't this guy British?"
U wot mate?!
Cracking interview. Really refreshing to see good questions being asked.
Best movie of the year so far
All time or some shit!!
Jordan Peele is wearing FEAR OF GOD hes officially the GOAT
I was thinking the same thing lol
Allison Williams is such a great actress especially in this movie. Her scene when she picks up the phone for Chris and talking to his friend the way she answers it with no emotion, no facial expressions and no gestures is just unnerving and creepy, it gives me the chills watching it.
The part where they did the auction using bingo cards was incredible and the tea hypnosis was amazing. You don't really see things like that in a scary movie and on top of that make it funny. This needs to definitely win an oscar. Good work. Even adding the racism was fantastic. It was on point and it wasn't beating around the bush.
Why the hell is she speaking for him?
curlsbeyond99 it's a casual interview! So they can just jump in whenever. He's also a quieter guy, so she's just talking to make him feel comfortable, I think
actually yeah right??
Because she’s white girl who has a bunch of black friends & woulda voted for Obama a 3rd time.
That's how they do it in interviews with two or more actors, they give praise to each other so they seem humble and also promote each other and the movie at the same time. Check other interviews with other actors, you'll notice. It's just it is more subtle because they are not honest with their intentions like this girl.
He’s British-Ugandan; no slave mentality! Sorry 😐
The first part of the interview with Peele when he says you need to watch it twice was the most true statement. Just thinking back to the scenes after seeing it makes nod my head, I get it.
HE HAS A BEAUTIFUL ACCENT ♡LOVE IT!( IK IK WE ALL HAVE ACCENTS ... BLAH BLAH BLAH
[THIS FOR THOSE WHO DO TOO MUCH IN MY COMMENT SECTION] )
Channing Alexia Everyone has an accent
"Everyone has an accent"😩😧 You knew what she meant.
Tyreik El right lol😩😑that's why I payed it none
He's Posh Kenneth of course.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSS"
his American accent was on point for the movie, I would've never thought he was a Brit
Kelly Pagano thats why i dont believe in multiculturalism. It never works. look at the world.
Dats a troll
years on and Get Out is still the most watched movie in our house
Daniel's look when she fixes her dress at 7:49 lol
szlachta91 lmaoooo. good spotting

szlachta91 LMFAOOOOO
szlachta91 lMAOO
I haven't seen this movie, i'm afraid to. But he is one foine chocolate man
Watch it!! It's sooo interesting!
He isn't chocolate, he is human.
I love the questions the interviewer is asking, thumbs up!
I knew Daniel from that episode of Black Mirror, where he was amazing - I mean that monologue? Crazy. Good actor
The first answer: that behavior has a name and is apparently called positive racism. Yep. Something I only just learned about myself and am guilty of and am striving to correct.
I guarantee that “Positive racism” is a term coined by white folks who have no understanding of racism.
@@agsmith420 It's racism with good intentions behind it. People do it without realizing it.
Also learn something about the white guilt
The term “micro aggression” covers those kinds of comments a little bit better than “positive racism.”
I really like this interviewer. He asks intelligent questions and lets the actors talk without constantly interrupting.
Stfu how bout that
I disagree, I wasn't expecting her to be part of all this shit !
we need more guys like daniel to make a better society. such an easy guy who understands complicated things in simple ways.
You are a great interviewer. The energy and excitement was clear.
I DONT LIKE HER IN REAL LIFE! THATS HOW GOOD SHE IS! U NEED AN AWARD JORDAN!
Just watched get out. Had to see it 3 times in a row
I don't trust her
78Suhaylah Wilson I don't think she was racist in that movie. Actually she was definitely into black guys - it was easy to see. She just was a head hunter. If was her job to hunt for black guys.
Stfu. One or two black guys made a joke and now you're quoting that all black people are stupid, over some skinny white ting. Moist yute, you're a wasteman and a hypocrite.
rupiter2008 No shit she's into black guys. Why would she let them fuck her otherwise.
I can't wait for Get Out 2. Great job Jordan Peele!!!!
This interviewee is always so good.
