Thank you for sharing. I have the same issue with mine to a lesser extent. You saved me the expense and effort with your video. Ford 1700 4 X 4 tractors with the 770 loaders are great little work horses

It’s a beast for a small tractor, but I work it hard and it is showing it’s age with issues like this. It has gotten worse since I filmed this video. Unless running at higher rpm, it won’t lift the brush hog any more than a few inches off the ground. It does better when cold than hot.

Your issue is the hydraulic piston oring under the 3pt hitch cover. The 3pt and loader work off the same pump. Your hydraulic 3pt cylinder is leaking down then your draft control is kicking in and raising it back up to the correct level. That process is causing your jumping. That constant high and low preasure in the hydraulic system is causing your loader to jump while using the 3pt hitch.

I have a question ❓. I don't use the 3 point because I have a backhoe and I have a Farmall ,806 for mowing. And I have the same issue. My backhoe is jumping the same way . I see what you say it be related for him using the 3 point and trying to get it back to same level he has the mower . But any idea what it could be . I already flushed all the fluid last year and only used the tractor like 30 hours (I put based a backhoe and didny used it )

Did you have to prime the system. I just changed mine, and now my hydraulics do not work. Tried putting 15psi of air in the reservoir and still nothing.

@@Afterhoursbowfishingllc No, just drain and refill. The suction filter is at a low point in the system, and I think the suction line fills by gravity to the pump.

I don't have that mesh screen on my 1710...is that normal? I have a vertically mounted screw-on filter on the bottom of the pump area. I just changed my fluids yesterday. It had alot of water in it. Looked like a caramel milkshake. Loader started to work then it didn't again. Will go through and fully drain again...hoping for the best.

@@JSer67 The 1710 is the next generation of machine. The 1700 does not have a spin-on hydraulic filter. The internal screen is it. If there was a lot of water in your fluid it may take a couple changes of fluid and filter to sort out. These machine are also sensitive to the type of hydraulic fluid. Make sure to use factory spec or equivalent.

I have been searching for a transmission dipstick for my Shibaura sd2200 ... my understanding that it's basically the same? Would you mind taking a picture of yours next to a tape measure so i can try to fabricate one?

Not sure if the SD2200 is the same. I think it has a different engine for sure. Not sure about the transmission and rear end, which is all one reservoir. My engine is model LE-892 and it’s a 12 speed transmission. The dipstick is 8-3/16 inches from the base of threads to the tip.

Nice video, whats a good price for a 1700 with backhoe, 1400 hours, thanks

Depends on condition and whether or not the backhoe is factory or aftermarket, 4wd or not, etc. If it has been used regularly (even just 10-20 hrs per yr) that’s better than if it’s been sitting for years. I can only guess, which would be around $10k for a running machine. Try searching for listings of recent sales to get an idea. Tractor House is often a good resource. Pricing on similar tractors of the same vintage from other brands are also a good reference comparison.

My 2110 Ford 3pt hitch has been dropping the last few years. I just bought the lift cylinder o-ring And plastic ring. I'm betting I have the same problem.
