This movie did an excellent job on covering the mess in Tyson's finances, after all that's who Ving's character is based on.

Mike had no other choice. He was at the peak of his career to the point unless he wanted to box at the local YMCA, he would have to go through King. Then Boxing Promoter, Butch Lewis, got pushed out of the heavyweight division, more than likely by King, then by the very late 90's, Don King was found in whatever division had big money earning names.

How the hell did he get a first degree murder charge. Even SECOND degree murder could have gotten him paroled in 20 years. No way should he have gotten a First degree murder charge. Boyka was leader of the toughest gang in his prison similar to that guy Ving Rhames beat up for trying to get him to join his gang while Ving refused to join any gangs. I read that he is five foot 11. I think that is about equal height to Mike Tyson? So if he was symbolic of Tyson (many similarities in his story like an iffy rape conviction) then that seems like a good thing. When he knocked out that giant skinhead they made no effort to make him look tall.
You know "Minnie Me" in those Austin Powers movies? I made a joking comment once that Ving Rhames is the "Minnie Me" of Michael Clarke Dunkan (sad that he passed away).
