Saw this exceptional production the day after opening night and i was left dumbfounded at how amazing Jacob's performance as Frollo was! He's the only Frollo actor I've seen where you actually can feel that Frollo wasn't a terrible person at first. Other performances I've seen have an undertone of maliciousness even before this song, but not a trace was evil was to be found in Jacob's incredible performance! And when the evil does creep in in this song, it really pays off!! His performance is desperate and villainous and confused and pitiful all at once. Absolutely brilliant.
The entire thing is amazing! Lucas did a brilliant job encompassing Quasimodo's expressions through the lifting vocals, and Jacob did a stunning job in contrast as Frollo, highlighting his turn to pride and how he believes that his actions are justified either way in the end. This performance overall does an amazing job in showing the contrast of how Quasimodo and Frollo view Esmeralda and their own beliefs. Props to everyone involved!
@@reelcompDo you think you'd be able to provide a link for me too, Mr. Reinhart? This production was exceptional and I'd love to be able to re-experience it, even if not live!
Was there a reason Brothers Lucas couldn't play Quasimodo for this rendition? I can see the family resembles between Quasi and Frollo. Not sure if siblings or father/son.
beata Maria ~
the chokehold this Frollo has on me wow

Lucas IS Quasimodo in this rendition and his brother Jacob is Frollo . In this version of Hunchback they are related Frollo is Quasimodo’s Uncle.
@@reelcomp thanks for the clarification. No wonder the resemblance is so strong. I bet it was difficult to stay in character. 😊
