  • My other Camaro was starting to leak every where like a dog marking it’s territory so it is time to pull the motor on this one too. Full engine reseal on this one as well as full exhaust upgrades including new stainless long tubes from Texas speed, replacing anything that is bad or worn out and possibly a cam upgrade.

thanks for the video. Out of curiosity, where were all the oil leaks coming from? I'm trying to decide if its my oil pan gasket that's slowly leaking

Honestly, everywhere 😂. However the main ones that literally were leaving a few drips every time I parked the car were the oil pan and the rear main seal. The oil pan is usually the first one to really start making a mess on these cars. But from my experience the ones that usually leak the worst are oil pan, rear main seal/rear cover and valve cover gaskets in that order.

I only have the head pipe assembly with converters left, but I’d sell that.

@@916chevyboy sorry, not sure I understand your question. As far as the parts I removed I only have the head pipe assembly left. As far as the car itself I still have it and am considering selling it as well, but it is a hard decision because it’s too much fun driving it and pissing people off.

Not yet, I’ve never been into social media, if the channel grows I might change that. Go ahead and ask, I can try to answer here.

@@curtrobinsongarage5452 have you narrowed the rear end in your car? If not what is all the spec on your wheel and tire combo?

@@punkinsgarageandpaint8299 no, stock rears on both cars. And both cars have identical wheel tire combos. Wheels are 18x9.5 rear 17x8.5 front. Tires are 275/40R18 rear 245/45R17 front. The one on the hoist now does have a 1” spacer on the rear but the other one doesn’t and doesn’t rub unless you come in on a curb hot and really flex the axle.

@@curtrobinsongarage5452 I thought you only had one 4th gen. I haven't been a subscriber long. Do you know the backspace ? I like the lip on the rears.

@@punkinsgarageandpaint8299 I have 2, the 98 1LE and a 99 Z28. They are identical looking except the 99 is an auto with T-tops. Long story short I bought them how they are for a very low price. So it is hard to discern them on the channel. I’m thinking of doing something to the 1LE to set it apart from the other. I’d have to get back to you on the backspacing. I’ll have to measure them, because I didn’t buy them. My guess is though they are standard backspacing for the width bought of someplace like summit racing. The previous owner of the cars was a tight ass that didn’t do much to maintain the cars besides rubbing them down with armor all. Hence why I have to tear them all apart to bring them up to my standards so I doubt the wheels are custom in any way and are probably pretty standard. Which is why he used the wheel spacers instead of ordering wheels that actually fit like they should. In all reality both fronts and backs should have at least 1/2” less backspacing to push the wheels out and center them better in the wheel wells without the use of wheel spacers.
