Bro hats off to you, this is my personal channel apart from my content channel, and this video is INSANELY underrated. Keep making these videos man, your doing an amazing job inspiring new and old editors alike.
This is the first video about editing that talks about burnouts. I have been so focused on watching countless tutorials, burying myself in the technical side of things, but neglected the philosophy behind the art. Perhaps I should start finding equilibrium. Your video is very inspirational, clear, and concise. You made my day.
Some of the best advice i have ever seen. What's even more surprising is that you only have uploaded 2 videos so far and i already subscribed because of 1.
The two last points are sooo crucial especially when you get into the flow state. Idk how many times I caught myself sitting down 5h without a real break and the worst part is, when you realize that, you get up and you become dizzy all of a sudden because your mind needs to comprehend reality first before being able to function normally again :D
Wow...this was tremendous! Saved it to favorites so I can watch it again and also work my way through the videos you mentioned! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Do you have a Discord for editors? I'd love to join to learn more and assist other editors as well!
Yoo, thank you so much!! Im not the best editor, since i do art and coding way more,, so this actually helped a ton :D i also like the tone of your voice, and the fact that the videos not too slow nor too fast. Hats off to you!
Having your videos recommended was one of the few times UA-cam did the right thing for me. Definitely, I'll be checking your new videos and I hope you keep doing them if possible
I saw the thumbnail and thought “well the video better be pretty well edited”. All I gotta say is bravo 👏This video in and of itself taught me so much about making engaging content! Subbed.
Another banger of a video! As an editor myself I think this is great advice so hats off to you. The only part I only partially agree with is the courses bit. I've personally bought one single course and even though I could find 90% of this info on UA-cam it saved me weeks/months looking for same information on YT (and it wasn't expensive either) so worth it in my book. Totally agree on the liars selling dreams though.
I've been waiting for this! I loved the previous one, and you didn't disappoint with the new release. You should have way more subscribers with the amount of value you're providing. Please make a course lol
This video was not only insanly helpful for me an aspiring editor, but really well made like how the fuck do you only have 8k subs and are making amazing videos like this. You just earned a sub.
Beautiful mix of considering the experience of editing AND the mentality of creating videos the way people want to, thank you for mentioning the death of Burnout. On top of your channel logo, you're just awesome
What’s cool is I just opened your video. Watched it without pauses. Went to subscribe and realized I am already subscribed. This video was so cool that I subscribed without even realising it. What a gem.
Great video bro! It's so easy to miss things when your focus is spread so thin. Taking a break and returning may seem like a waste of time to some, but can really save you from uploading errors in your videos.
Amazing video! Learning shortcuts was the biggest gamechanger for me But there is still some room for improvement in the workflow, I take so long sometimes
This wasn't just about editing, this was almost any creative process entirely. References, references, references. Learn, learn, and learn. Editing, Mixing, Vocal Engineering, Sound design, art. So much of it is choosing your battles carefully. Good vid
Mahnnn! Your video is God sent. It has touched on very important things I need to hear as an editor trying to improve, not one just beginning to learn how to edit. I have already made you a mentor of mine and looking forward to learning more from you.
My issue is I don't know what questions to ask/where to ask the questions, or explain what I need help with. I finally learned how to create a grid, add glow to some jpegs, understand the concept of key frames. Your video has depth and shading in the animation/is so smooth. Everything I do looks so linear and flat. I wish I had started younger but i'm definitely not going to give up. Thx for this video man 👍
Looking at where I was 3 years ago where I really only knew how to splice clips together, and put text and images on the screen to where I am now feels so weird in how much progress I've made. Yet, videos like this always let me know I have more to learn and can keep improving, definitely some great advice!
No need to say this video is helpful, you know that. But I think there is a thing which resonated with me the most. That is the idea of implementing new things gradually. There is no reason to try to control every aspect of the process if that comes to the cost of not producing and learning more. I also think it helps a lot if you have someone who's on the same plane as you, so you can learn together. That's something I'm looking for... someone starting UA-cam or a hobby relating any type of content creation with similar vibe. BTW, super nice to see you reaching 100k views with this video. Keep it going!
i just started editing 2 weeks ago. man its crazy out there. i have a lot of ideas but i dont really understand the software very much. ill keep trying to get better. thanks for making the video
Another amazing upload from tricky prolix! I just love how you show your knowledge and share it with the world. It really shows me how experienced you are.
Just with ur 2 videos its very inspired me to learn, learn and learning about editing the video content.. For a noob like me, ur content is easy understanding
This video is really well done, the information is high quality. You speaking on things that I, as well as many editors that I know took years to fix through trial and error. I don't see many videos speaks on this topic so i'm glad you're shedding more light on it Also. I've been editing for years but only recently started editing UA-cam videos for a client of mine. Prior to this i worked on personal projects and motion graphics. I think im gonna do the "send your videos to other people for review." I usually would just take a break but since I have to learn video editing from a UA-camrr perspective I think this would be an extremely helpful tip
I was really bummed out because I feel like I am not creative enough to start a UA-cam channel and it kind of is my dream to start one and be successful in it. Thanks for giving me a slither of hope, I tend to downtalk myself a lot.
Thank you for sharing your journey. Also, I just saw your previous video and although I'm just a beginner it gave me some inspiration to continue my channel. Thank you!
I'm starting again my UA-cam channel about diabetes and entrepreneurship. I had this video on my feed and is really good. Man, you are good, thanks for this.
For me it’s so hard to balance out the time I stream and the time I edit… specially with school too… I want to do it all but uploading frequently with high quality is just feels impossible
im currently editing my last project for college in my media studies course, this video really helps my gears turning. im gonna listen to some podcasts now, great video!
hey hi, u said that u wanted ideas for ur new vid, hopefully u see this ! the idea: try making a video in which u kinda keep a dead line and make a certain amount of money in that time frame using ur badass editing skills.(also give some tips abt editing in between). idea 2: make a long term tutorial based series on editing and use animations in it to attract attention.(or anything u seem good) idea 3: probably start a gaming or anykinda exploration channel idea 4:uncover any new editing features or how they do editing in cinemas or anime, drama etc... idea5: make any small documentaries regarding any topic of ur interest thats all for now
amazing! thanks for the tips! need to start prioritizing shortcuts. also wanted to ask what music were you using in the very last segment? it was amazing
video editing sometimes becomes nightmares. I have experienced it. it creates sometimes blank mind and empty hearts. thanks to you who said its normal. The youtube journey is not easy. its like a baby who nned 100% care, protection, feed and time.
I started 10 months ago And I Am Already A professional Editor But this video Explained me Stuff that I did not even Know About I Will Try These Methods!
Thank you so much for that information about PODCASTS for learning crucial information. I don’t know about anybody else, but I needed to hear that as I am in the process now reviving my UA-cam channel and the reason why it’s reviving at all not because, I’ve paid for a course but that I put I took a class with professor UA-cam and associate professor google and found out for myself
8:00 what i would do it 1. cut unnecessary parts 2. add some text here and there 3. add music 4. move things around in sync im just a beginner (even tho i have been making videos for a year now) but i think this might be the easiest
Video idea: Do a blind editor challenge. What I mean by that: Get the first editor and let him make whatever he wants, the second editor then takes a look at his work and improves on it.. All the way to the last one. You can setup different teams and see which team has the best edit.
The biggest tip for the editors, as I graduated from film and television at college, is to know the montage theory (or editing theory), which is fundamental for any kind of project.
watching this while keyframing, ur vids are hella intresting and well edited keep it up bro, thanks for all the tips w out having anyone pay 11.99 a month
