The problem with the F3H2 is it’s radar is very unreliable. If the radar had a decent lock range and tracking system, it would be useful. Your lucky to even get a lock 2 km away sometimes. (Radar is the reason Aim7Cs are useless)
In my opinion the av8a is most underrated if we count prems. It has pretty good missiles for its br and a low repaircost (5k). If you load it up with 2 aa missiles 2 1000 lb bombs and flares then you can bomb and get 4.5k which after the battle activity money completely covers the repair cost. Then if you are good you can get 1 to 2 maby 3 kills per match. If you can play it well you will reliably pocket 10-35 k per match
@@Nubex. underrated means it needs to be not played very often. Av8 is still spammed like crazy. Underrated planes in the US tree for me would be the F4U-4 (at 4.7), late model P-38s, FJ-4B (8.7), and the F8U (10.0) / F8E (10.3).
@snowchi2792 no. Underwear means it is rated worse than it should be. Because almost everyone who plays it just skipped several brs and does not have the flying and combat Proficiency to hold their own against most other jets the plane will be seem as bad when it's just the players.
This is a bit sad to know since I’m planning on playing this plane and noticed it’s stats are pretty mediocre at 9.0 BR and if the missiles are no use then what would be it’s strong point?
The Potez 631 has 6x 7.5mm MGs and 2x 20mm cannons at 2.3 and turns like a biplane even though it's a two engine attacker, meaning if you have a speed and or altitude advantage, you win 99% of the time
Potez was one of my fav planes grinding early France, now I’ve gotten up to the Jaguar and for that tier it’s amazing. All of France air is pretty good

A truly underrated us plane is the sbd 3, it gets 6 50 cals with the gun pod at 1.7. the thing can shred everything at its tier and is still able to turn fight pretty well
@@s.shadow8094 and those planes who are attacked need protection, many planes from 2.3 - 11.0 uses armor airframes that protect them from bullets (12 mm below), its not 100% effective but repell most of it. The sm91 don't have that even a biplane can kill it easily

Missles were really bad back then, too, so people actually put effort into turn fighting. I honestly haven't played in about a year and I'm sure the game play is completely different now.
Japan: B7A2, 800 kg bomb, 2 rather close wing 20mms with full HET belts, can put turn a zero in the right conditions, air brake, 13mm tail gun, and gets a bomber spawn so you always can get an altitude advantage. At 3.7 it is a beast in right hands and is rank 3 to grind out everything. Should trade places with p1y1.
The french MB 175 has airbrakes, 3 german 151 20mm's (2 pilot controlled and 1 rear gunner) with the great HE shell. 10 Hvars stock, and a reliable turn along with some decent engines. An actual monster at 3.3 that is rarely, if ever, seen.
For the first model of it, yes. It gets weapon options, it’s speed and performance is still nutty even with only 2 prop blades. It also is the only Ki-43 to not have shit rudder control.

The BB-1 doesn’t have Miniguns, it has the ShKAS Revolver Machine Gun which was the fastest firing MG of WW2 and used a rotating, revolver like drum to feed the belt resulting in faster firerate
The F4F-3 imo is incredibly underrated. Good turning performance, along with decent climb speed and insane diving speed. Plus, it has 4 .50 cals with 1800 rounds of ammo. Also the fact it is damn near indestructible. In rank III USA Air and still keep that in my matches.
When you find someone in air assault who knows how to use the me262 50mm. It's one of the only ways to win on the France map without some of the op premiums.
I'll say this the SBD is pretty underrated, in its role of dive bombing in warthunder because people want to use it for dog fighting more than anything. When that wasn't even what it was designed to do

The sbu dive bomber that has four 50 cals and a bomb so it gets air spawn for bomber hunting and decent manoeuvrability at 1.7 is just crazy. Def recommend a try.
French Yak3. Most op aircraft tier for tier. It’s just great. Handles great, fast, agile, turns quick, good guns, easy to fly, and climbs great. Only downsides are no wep (but no overheating your engine) and can’t do well at altitude
I swear to god the 50mm 262 is all I see playing 7.0 US, that thing is ridiculously good CAS and America's lack of good SPAA at that point only makes it better
Think another that most people underappreciated are the Helldivers. Great turn rate, bomber spawn with two 20s and 4 50s (in gun pod) can turn even with Zeros. Only downside is speed and lack of wep of 3km
For Japan id say the J7W is pretty underrated. If not that, then the B7A2 is a cool plane in arcade where you can fly to space and bomb with it. Anyone who comes up to you gets dove on since its basically still a fighter too.

The ar2 in the ussr tech tree can outclimb anything at its br and has a 3 fab 500 bomb load capable of destroying 1.5 bases definitely the best bomber of its br
the demon is a good plane, its just your playing at a br that will get uptiered the most out of every tier so you face supersonic 20g missiles in a subsonic jet

FOr the US you've got things like the SB2U-3 (4 .50s at 1.7 with a bomber spawn) or it's larger brother the SBD-3 (6 .50s with a bomber spawn at 2.0), you've got the P-400 (If you could call it "Underrated") or the A-26B-10 (You want to be able to kill everything in a match? Run that plane.), heck even the AM-1 is overlooked by most as a heavy fighter, bringing powerful guns and incredible one turn potential. For Germany you've got the Do 17Z for bullying props. (You out energy and out gun them, lol) While you've got the Do 217N-1 (Those 13mm turrets shred at 2.7, and you get Mg 151s X 4), the HS 129B-2 being used as a fighter can pull off very surprising results, with the 30mm gunpod you've got the same armament as the Ta 152 at 6.0, but you're at 2.7. (And you get extra MGs) you've also got the 110 F-2 which gets 4 20mms and 4 7.7s at 3.0 on a fighter that can out turn a P-38 at low altitudes. For the USSR, as someone else suggested, the Yak-9K, especially now that the 45mm gets an AP round, is probably the most overlooked, but the Yak-2 KABB and IL-2M aren't too far behind.

sb2u-3 has four front facing 50 cals at 1.7 from the get go though, so you can bomb and then shred everyone
