exactly its not like you have more fun in Warthunder when you reach top tier, its just a faster and simply diffrent gameplay due to modern techs like missiles/radar/gudiance,ThermalVision etc. But you can have fun on all tiers in my opnion even more in lower tiers and when you figure that out WT is actually enjoyable.
@xraison 44 I bought a f5c grinded to the f14. Now that I'm at top tier let's take it to simulator mode to use its full capabilities, since realistic mode is so watered down. Oh wait I can't use mouse aim. If it's gonna require a HOTAS to play simulator then I might as well play dcs.
Hey ian quick tips for you, don't keep playing run while you still can. Also you can't Land when you are in arcade Mode (which you were in), and realistic is where that Energie concepts are, but that tutorial video way overcomplicated it, Is very simple, You have height, you can point down to turn height into speed, you have speed you can Pulk up to turn into height, etc. Energie is speed, so Energie fighting is prett much speed fighting where you want to be faster than you're enemy to stall trap him or just have more Speed and get above and jump him, etc., etc., etc., and also yes height is very very important when you are in realsitic as it count for a lot more since you aren't as fast and "floaty" in general. Have a nice day Ian, don't let the snail steal your soul, get out before it's to late
Ye You Can Land, But Aircrade Is Just Bull**** Fir Me. +Aircrade With Jets... It Just Stupid. So My Fav Is Simulator And Realistic, Top Tier Or Any Tier!
the gaijin tutorials barely touch the surface of flying competently in air RB. It is not that simple, and I'm tired of people ignoring the real tutorials on UA-cam that will teach you how to fight your opponent in any energy state and not just give up when you have a disadvantage.
I honestly think that playing strategically is the way to go as your FAR better then everyone else in the game. It is also better to play strategically in air realistic which is a lot harder as the turn rates and speeds of aircraft are actually described in the menu of the plane once it is in the crew slot.
Some tips: 1. get as much altitude as you can, and if you can't get above the enemy, level your plane to get as much speed as you can (although you still need to control the speed so that the controls doesn't stiffen too much). This is called energy. 2. Use the free look button, default C. This can help spot enemies. 3. If you're above an enemy use a tactic called boom and zoom (or BnZ). Dive towards the enemy, then using the speed you've gained during the dive, climb to regain altitude and repeat the whole process until the enemy is dead. Keep in mind you still need to lookout for enemy planes so you don't get surprised killed. I would suggest to dive towards enemies that have the highest altitude, as they usually have the most energy. 3. If you're below an enemy, immediately level out your plane to gain more speed. 4. If an enemy is diving onto you, turn to the direction of the enemy while doing a shallow dive, and evade the enemies gunfire as much as possible. Easiest way to do this is simply put your mouse onto the enemy, but control the plane manually using WASD. Here's a better explanation with actual examples. m.ua-cam.com/video/6d7mYVGvLq4/v-deo.html 5.if the enemy is on your 6, use the same wasd technique as before but this time don't turn too much, instead you roll to evade enemy gunfire. Reduce your throttle and if possible use flaps, this is to reduce your speed to force the enemy to overshoot. 6. Learn about energy in war thunder, there are a lot of videos in youtube that can explain it better than me. 7. For modifications in planes, focus on performance modifications first (the left side) then you can research the firepower modifications (the right side). For crew skill focus on both G force tolerance and stamina first. 8. I'd suggest you go to the Russian tree first for planes. They offer planes that are jack of all trades, master of none. 9. Don't be too greedy, focus on fighters first and focus on the highest fighters first, don't sacrifice your altitude just to kill a bomber or attacker. Also don't sacrifice your altitude to chase someone that is already chased by another teammate. 10. Know the planes that you're using and you're fighting. Some planes are good at energy fighting while others are good at turn fighting. Know how to counter each plane and don't forget to search online for new planes.
@@toxicatto6074 lol I wouldn’t say he learned about it, more like he became aware that it exists. I grinded warthunder for quite a while he had me cracking up bro you definitely earned my subscription. your references to cutaways all the good stuff. I like the formats your videos take.
This game has a huge learning curve especially for air. Which is why players should focus on improving common skills like controls, aim, flap controls etc. They will get better at the game and get more kills, get more rp and then the ""grind"" wouldn't be as painful, they'll have fun by getting more kills and wins. However most players, instead of trying to get better, just do random things like base bombing to get more rp to unlock higher tier planes. Their skills don't increase, while the skill ceiling of their planes keep increasing. When they've reached the top vehicles they're too bad at the game, will die too much, lose Silver lions, they'll naturally get frustrated but will blame it on the game. Sadly, the later is what 90% of the players nowadays do which is why all the negative comments about the """""war thunder grind""""
Fun fact, the plane gameplay change a lot when you leave low battle rating (basicaly easy mode) tiers to get better mid rank planes, and change a lot once again at high battle ratings (jets), all those 3 (low tier, mid tier, high tier) play completely different from each other due to planes and weapons performace.
Trust me bro, it becomes more fun once you learn the types of aircraft/ vehicle abilities, personally I like strike aircraft since bombing enemy AI and bases are pretty cool
Knowing everything about the opponents aircraft go a long way. Recommend playing multiple countries and seeing what is right for you. Started with Germany, ended with Japan.
7:29 Realistically speaking after playing the game for more than three thousand hours you don't even need a guide for every vehicle in the game, you just feel it. Also knowing physics from the real life helps a lot ingame. And ofcourse this knowledge won't help in arcade ...
"Just feel it" is an absurd statement for someone with no experience in the game. Until they have enough experience from dozens of aircraft to accurately know what a plane does well or bad by comparison with other aircraft that it is facing, "just feel it" doesn't help in the slightest.
@@telmorola1768 I mean that just by looking at a something you will know how to use it. Like taking a twin engine aircraft in a dogfight with single engine one - most of the cases you will lose (just for example). Also i don't talk especially for aircraft but for a vehicle, is it a car, tank, plane, helicopter, even a ship or boat. Not only in a game but in the real life too.
Can't wait to fly one of those jets... cmon, in n out, 20 minute adventure 500 hours, going broke, getting no golden eagles, and gambling addiction later
You really should use the ussr for planes and tanks, your first ever plane has 4 mg's on it, and the tank killers one-shot a lot of tanks I highly recommend the Su-76M (one shot king, but vulnerable to 50-Cals) and the Su-122 (tanks go boom, it’s also hard to pen), but NEVER use the Su-5-1, you only carry 8 shells. I also recommend getting the T-34 because its mobile, armored (absolute hell to try to pen) and it has a nice cannon
@@ianNotShort Play Realistic mode instead of Arcade. All of these guides are for Realistic Mode. Arcade is basically the easy mode where the game shows you where to aim and all of the aircraft fly like UFOs.
I have 850 hours, my highest tier vehicle is rank 5 (panther II) and every time i replay this game feels like the first time... Should i quit or something?
to land in war thunder you need to do this thing called a ditch put up your landing gear and slow down when landing turn off the engine, so you don't flip over only do this if your going to die
I recommend starting with casual bombing if you want planes. If you want to go for Modern stuff quickly, Sweden or Italy are the trees to go. In general, rather start with a smaller tree. Or do the best and don't start at all. Yes you can have lot of fun but War Thunder can SEVERLY AND SERIOUSLY impact your mental health. Try to enjoy what you got, not what you will have in a few hours of mentaly disabling grind.
Japan seems to be the quickest grind if you're only focusing on the air tree. I also wouldn't grind Sweden unless you really want a viggen for some reason.
If I understand correctly, the crew never really dies. They are just unconscious and are woken up after the match ends. Also the plane can always be repaired to pristine condition even though it's been burnt to ash. Only if you crash the crew is so pissed that they have to take 8 minutes of vacation :D
I found your channel because of tanki videos online and I really liked it. The only thing I ask of you is: more war thunder videos in this style. I've only had 4000 hours of gameplay and I think I have the authority to say that, the suffering is eternal and the reward is low, but your soul is sold without you even knowing it and you'll play it for the rest of your life. But it doesn't take that long to learn, and maybe in 3 or 5 months you'll be playing at an intermediate level
I think the worst part of the grind is that there is no Skill based matchmaking. You can be a level 8 player and have to face level 50-100 players who played the game for years.
As someone who has played this game for years, I can attest the struggle is real. The way I learned to dog fight that would be more enjoyable then looking at graphs all day is to watch History Channel's Dog Fights series. They will teach most of the basics and are fun to watch. If your serious about grinding and don't mind spending a little money is to get premium and gold planes every now and then or put talismans on the planes u fly the most. Enjoyed the video!
@Matic well that leads me to my next point. If I had a hotas I sure as hell wouldn't be playing warthunder. I'd be playing an actual simulator cough cough dcs
my guys so underrated, when i saw ur video i thought u had over a million subs cuz of that quality then i saw and u have 18k!? get this guy to a mil cuz he is very underrated! u, my guy, earned a sub!
Modify your controls so a/d can roll your airplane and w/s can pitch it, and a/e can yaw it (rudder) this way you can look around and line up your opponent while turning, the auto mouse control makes the plane slow at turning in certain scenarios I.e you are flat to you opponent, and it uses full rudder to turn instead of rolling on your side and pulling up for minimum turn time
I love playing airplanes in this game but I never play the air mode because it's sooooo boring. It takes less time to kill an enemy and get in a plane and then get in a dogfight in realistic ground battles than it takes to just get to the enemies in air realistic. Also, great video. Funny, well edited and entertaining.
There was a pilot (American Air Force, I believe) who flew a jet with a wing broken off to landing. I can't remember which jet it was though. For biplanes, it should be even more feasible.
Everyone talking about how the snail has claimed him but he literally hit the most insane triple axel backflip spinny thing in the history of warthunder. My guy deserves 1 million ge and sl just for that
WT requires a lot of skill man and is focused mainly on realism. I'd recommend trying World Of (tanks, warplanes, warships etc) since they are easy to play but worst thing is, they have made separate game for every mode. 😂
@@Scar-L-light fighting in top tier is easier than with propeller planes, tho i have never seen the interest in air RB in tier 3 or 4 it is just flying for 10 minutes reach an ennemy and it is 50/50 you kill him congrat you will maybe get a second one, option 2 you die you must launche another battle and fly again for 10 minutes
I keep seeing people say you should run from this game while you still can but i have a different view. This game is great fun and has tons of content to explore, i think what irks a lot of people is they focus too much on the highest level of the game and get frustrated when it takes a long time to get there. But if you set yourself small goals like spading a vehicle or unlocking a camo or just take it battle by battle it can be highly rewarding. Obviously this game is not for everyone, so especially for all those people in the comments saying you should flee but also anyone else reading this, if you stop enjoying a game stop playing it! Even if you have a lot of time or money invested in the game your fun should be what matters most! Have fun out there!

@@andrewyoung4473 you are entitled to your opinion obviously but my stance as someone who has been playing since 2015 is that sure, gaijin sometimes makes boneheaded decisions but by a very large margin the good outweighs the bad. bro ur actually good for a player that just started, when I start the game I literally spend all my golden eagles on developing vehicles and die 20 time before I get a kill.
Heres how to land: after a gentle touchdown, reduce throttle to zero and then keep your mouse pointing up, after you have lost enough speed so that your plane cant take off again, turn on the brakes and point your plane upwards by pressing S

As someone who has been playing for around a year now, all I can say is if you want to have fun then just don't pay attention to the grind, just play and enjoy the experience. after a while you'll be at top tier.
exactly its not like you have more fun in Warthunder when you reach top tier, its just a faster and simply diffrent gameplay due to modern techs like missiles/radar/gudiance,ThermalVision etc. But you can have fun on all tiers in my opnion even more in lower tiers and when you figure that out WT is actually enjoyable.

Have a nice day Ian, don't let the snail steal your soul, get out before it's to late
thanks
You can land in arcade, there are bases to land at, I've done it multiple times

@@ianNotShort By The Way Use Those Tactics In RB (Realistic Battles)
the gaijin tutorials barely touch the surface of flying competently in air RB.
After 4 years of playing I can comfortably say it gets fun along with the torture
Some tips:
1. get as much altitude as you can, and if you can't get above the enemy, level your plane to get as much speed as you can (although you still need to control the speed so that the controls doesn't stiffen too much).
Here's a better explanation with actual examples. m.ua-cam.com/video/6d7mYVGvLq4/v-deo.html
5.if the enemy is on your 6, use the same wasd technique as before but this time don't turn too much, instead you roll to evade enemy gunfire.
Oh wait it seems like you've learned about energy already, sorry I didn't watch the whole video lol.
@@toxicatto6074 lol I wouldn’t say he learned about it, more like he became aware that it exists. These are all great tips though and anyone starting WT should read this and know that you don’t have to learn it all at the start. I’m ~1000 hrs in, and I still watch videos on strats, theory and tips weekly.

Air arcade is way more fun than air rb
"Just feel it" is an absurd statement for someone with no experience in the game. Until they have enough experience from dozens of aircraft to accurately know what a plane does well or bad by comparison with other aircraft that it is facing, "just feel it" doesn't help in the slightest.
