That first one seemed like it woulda made it if it wasnt for the boat.
It was still falling too fast and would have hit the water if the boat wasn't there. To actually make it, I'm pretty sure it would have needed to decrease it's falling speed by nearly half of what it was by the time it hit the boat.

It's a complete rehaul of B-29 in metric system and with locally available technology. Still, it turned out good if not better.

The Tu-4 features a upgraded armaet and upgraded engines on top of that increased payload due to better engines.
Gun's weren't 50. Cals.
But replaced with 23mm a 10.3mm difference over the 12.7mm 50. Cal's.
On top of that, the 23mm's are all dual gunned on each turret doubling output.
On top of that, the engines feature higher energy output allowing compensation of the added weight, and to add bigger payloads.
