" I just wish I could live in a place where Autumn never ended". -Peter Steele (Jan 4, 1962 - April 14, 2010). Rest in peace, Green Man. The Type O family loves you always & forever.
Amazing interview, thank you, I met him at his gallery last year in July by chance, honored to meet Gaahl for the first time and chat with him, he's a great musician with lots of passion to art and his works, very friendly and great hospitality
Thank you Metal Injection for throwing my accomplishment question to Mr Gaahl. Glad to see it posted/asked, and even more seeing a humble being as him taking the time to answer those.
Wow, weird tthat they cut the part at 14:28. When this was first published, he said "Lately I just stare off into nothing, but I'm really good at it!" It was hilarious. One of the best gaahl interviews moments ever. So unfortunate.
I'm so glad Metal Injection asked my question about past members and projects of Gaahl's. Happy to hear that Gaahl still has some form of communication with Infernus and King even after all that's happened. Also Hat seems to still be around the scene! Can't wait for the new Trelldom and Sigfader albums!
@@strvggler from what I've read, no. To be honest, if it's anything like the last one, I'm not interested. For me it was the weakest Gorgoroth album in their discography. Can't wait to see what they're up to though.
@@hephaestusofficial - Heavily disagree about their latest album. It is their best-sounding production-wise and features great melodies from Infernus. Vocal style is different but I still like it
@@sercastamere9853 I like it. But honestly it almost sounds like blackened deathcore. If a deathcore band released that album I think it would have been a lot more popular and well received.
Gaahl seems very open now, may be the questions and that the interviewers not scared of gaahl. Better questions, better answeres i guess. Really good to see!
The most mind blowing thing about specifically gorgoroth is how its the only songs that often sound "ok" in headphones, but fire up a song on a good stereo from the 80s and its like it was never made for anything else, both gaahl era gorgoroth and after
I strive to make music that is an deep and meaningful as this man, and to hold and Carry myself in the deep spiritual way that he does. I’m fortunate to be Norwegian and live in the woods like him haha. Skål!
Gaahl is one of the most interesting and creative figures in all of rock music in my opinion. The range of expression he brings to what is traditionally just white noise vocalizations is just unreal. When he sings melodically, it is with such power and conviction too. Been a massive fan of this guy's work since hearing "procreating satan" for the first time way back when.
One of the last truly great living legends of music. More so than people like Maynard. Gaahl is a whole vibe, with Norway and black metal behind it, he’s not just a musician. He’s a Norse shaman
Thiught it was interesting he didn't mention Einarr/Kvitrafn for past members of Gorgoroth goven that he was in Wardruna with him. Hope there is no drama
@@soiboi5151 Pentegram was their first album….Hat was the singer. Gaahl didn’t do anything until Destroyer, their 4th album and which was only one song, Incipit Satan was Gaahl’s first full album with the band. Their 5th album
I dunno why, but i feel like Gaahl is really broken. He looks really sad and sweet. I know his presence live with gorgoroth makes him look scary, but all i see in this interview is a sad man. I'm not a big fan of his, but i really hope he finds peace
This interview somewhat changes my opinion of Gaahl. Still think he and King Ov Hell tried to sabotage and ruin Gorgoroth, and still see him as a cringey edgelord, but this shows me that he isn't a complete moron. I wish he would speak from the heart like this more often instead of just trying to say edgy nonsense like the whole "............. Satan" thing.. That kind of cringey bullshit just gives Black Metal a bad name. Yeah I get it. He was probably trying to scare christians or whatever, but it's not scary, and it's definitely not cool or "kvlt" or any of that. Just wish he would be himself... But then again, this dude gives me all around bad vibes. So maybe it's for the best that he's just an edgy poser.
@@norwardradtke1361 update. Yeah you were right. I just didn't get it. So I took some time to listen to more of the music and watch some other interviews and stuff. I'm still not 100% sure that I completely get it. But I do have a bit more respect for it now. A lot of it is pretty deep. I guess gogoroth is just not my personal favorite band or anything. Gaahl's video quality is like his early black metal stuff
It calls "Kvlt Quality"
Was just about to point that out
Totally disagree. Trelldom always had the perfect production
Nice
"Give me the worst laptop you have"
Is it weird to expect decent sound quality from a Black Metal artist in video calls like this?
Wouldn’t be trve or kvlt if the quality was better😂😂😂
Gaahl probably intentionally got a bad router so that his video streaming quality can be 144p 😂
@@wenxingwang7867 na
Nope not weird
The funniest comment I have read in a while
He reminds me of Peter Steele: Articulate, polite, a little intense, has a unique look to him, likes his wine and makes incredible music.

Gaahl is very good at hiding his demons. Always a total gentleman and that is admirable.
