What a great video Kiki. You are so beautiful and sweet. I started WFPBNO Feb21 and lost 15 lbs. Now I’m stuck and need your wonderful guidance to lose another 15 lbs to get to my goal weight. Currently I’m 60 lbs less than my highest about 20 years ago. I’ve been struggling with needing to lose 30ish lbs for many years. While watching some of your videos I just had a very large arugula, cauliflower, cucumber salad and half a baked purple Jamaican potato and half a baked golden beet. You inspire me so much. I find it hard because my husband doesn’t eat meat but still eats dairy. I used to be a cheese addict but now I can prepare shredded cheese for his meals and have NEVER even taken a wee taste. I’m proud of me. I’m also proud of you and your family. You are simply amazing. Take sweet care.
I've read the Starch Solution 2 times and still didn't get it. You explained so well about dividing the plate in half. I gave up oil, lost 25 lbs, now I've been stuck for a year. I realize I've been eating too much starch. Thank you for driving home these very important points. This was so very helpful!
Absolutely...stop recipe cooking. I cook a batch of beans, rice, mashed potatoes or whole potatoes, cauliflower cheese sauce, and cauliflower gravy each week. Because they are so delicious and satiating, we are content to eat these all week with big salads and steamed veggies. But...I have 31 fruit trees in my yard so eat a bit more fruit than I should. I'm going back to veggies (it's never been steamed cabbage but it will be now) at breakfast to counter my fruit consumption, although I'm in a healthy weight range. I love your channel, your energy, your vibe, and your beautiful smile. Thanks so much for all you do.

Thank you for confirming what I was suspecting- that I was overthinking and would copy recipes, plan, dream, etc., when all along if I just simplify, everything will go easier! As long as I have cooked grains, potatoes, & beans, I can mix & match veggies and not stress over meal planning (easy because it's just me eating this way).

Before I found you I was doing IF(20/4) I Fast for 20 Hrs and eat within 4 Hr window. I’ve lost 25lbs in 2 months. Ive been maintaining on IF for a year now. Then I heard about Keto, tried that but my bloodwork wasn’t in a good place. My Doc told me to stop Keto immediately, cholesterol went up to 366! She told me to look into Plant Base Diet in order to get off medicines for high blood pressure and cholesterol . Then my sister shared one of your videos with me. I was hooked. I absolutely ❤️ you. When I think I can’t do it I go and watch your videos. Thank you for posting.

I've been vegan for 10 years, but I gained 15 pounds since the pandemic started. I just started transitioning to McDougal's way of eating to get the excess weight off and feel better. This video was so helpful. Kiki explains things so well and she looks so healthy. I'm inspired!
I would advise people who're already in healthy weight range that want to lose more weight to start lifting weights, the extra muscle will suck up the last of the fat and you'll end up looking smaller just because you're more toned.
They burn more calories and boost your metabolic rate, thus helping you burn off that little bit of fat you have left, I’ve seen it happen time and again with people at my gym and other youtubers. It really does look like it sucks up the fat-But I do know it’s not literally sucking it up:)
As so many others have said, there are so many people out there making videos on a WFPB diet, but your channel is the absolute BEST! Nancy Slagle I wish I could say yes but I can’t. It has stalled. I came down with shingles and a UTI recently and with the virus scare I have been lazier than usual. I also am a type one diabetic (20 yrs) and have to treat lows occasionally so I never feel like I’m completely off sugar. I just read Mastering Diabetes and will be trying their suggestions. I wish you much success.

I just started the 50/50 plate this Monday. I love it! Haven't eaten this much in a long time. Once I've had my first meal of the day, I've got to really push myself to have a lunch. I am so full and with the sweet potatoes, I don't feel the need to have my usual in snacks. I live in Scotland. I've been overweight since my ms diagnosis ten years ago. Me too and though I’ve been doing this almost a year I’ve recently removed all nuts and avocados and finally seeing the scale move a bit. I’ve been in the upper160s and this last month in low 160s. It’s been extremely slow but I’m hoping my body will start releasing this fat. I have a small frame and should weigh 115.

It’s so fun making 50/50 plates! Just knowing I get to have my favorite (whole food)starches with every meal, I love choosing all manner of non~starchy vegetables to make a healthy plate! It’s truly creative and fun to cook now,no longer a chore.🤗
You do such an amazing job modeling this way of eating and making it SO accessible- it has been so easy for me to cook this way and keep it simple as a new mom- and now I’ve lost 10 lbs of my pregnancy weight in one month! The very best part is that I eat as much as I want, which is a LOT, without counting calories (or counting ANYTHING- because counting is a drag and unsustainable for me!) I know that I can maintain this way of eating indefinitely because it feels so easy, natural, and satisfying! Keep up the great work- you are really empowering people and changing lives!
I have been binge watching your videos all weekend. I finally decided to make my first meal. I had some leftover vegetarian Bolognese. I made a huge salad with kale and another green leafy vegetable. I have never felt this good after eating a meal. I am satiated, full of energy. I feel like I can climb a mountain. I am definitely going to give this diet a try!! This way of eating is so simple and satisfying. I often feel like I'm eating too much food but in just under 6 weeks I'm already down 12 lbs. I do high carb low fat but I don't really follow the starch solution because I feel best when I make my first meal a big fruit smoothie with lots of greens.

I found you a few weeks ago when your videos popped up in my feed. I binged watched them all in a couple days. I agree with everyone that your presentation is just awesome. You explain everything clearly, and show food that is really beautiful and really simple! I've been vegan since 2005, and whole food/unprocessed for nearly 5 years since starting Chef AJ's program. After using them my whole life, I'm starting to cook without recipes! You've inspired me to make my own pico and pintos (why did I never make pintos before this??), and I've been enjoying them every night for dinner with greens. :) I so appreciate your approach to keeping the food simple and starch based, while staying so positive and supportive. Your voice is desperately needed in this movement. Keep up the fantastic work!

Thank you for breaking this down so simple. I am dealing with a lot of the issues you had before you started plant based. I just don’t feel good and the doctors are no help. The hormonal imbalance has so many undesirable symptoms. I am praying on the strength to learn how to eat this way and implement it. Glad I found your page !

💯 agree with you on this, Kiki. Thank you for the reminder. First thing to do when you hit a plateau is: Go back to basics! Review and re-tweak everything… Am I eating any fats, am I eating anything processed, am I drinking enough water, getting enough sleep? Review it all and make your adjustments. As good as I think I am being, there can always be some old habit creeping it’s way back into my life.

I'm the type of person that can eat veggies without needing sauces, so this should go easy. Here's to some major weight loss! My biggest problem was pasta and breads, my weight wouldn't budge even though I was eating healthy, so I'm going to take those out of my diet.

Just loving you, your videos, your energy.💕 Would you consider doing a video showing a snippet of “what you eat in a day” but for an entire week? I stated following this plan last week and did find myself a bit overwhelmed about what to make. Breakfast is always oatmeal but I got hung up a bit with lunch and dinner. It could be because I binge watched all of your videos in one weekend and might have overwhelmed myself. Just curious what a full week of eating is like for you. Wow! Best explanation ever! Just straight to the point. I’ve been a vegan for a long time and had a hard time losing weight until I tried intermittent fasting. Lost 43 lbs, now reached a plateau and I started the starch diet yesterday for last 10 lbs I need to lose!
Your videos are excellent! Seriously, I’ve read McDougall and his books are understandable, but your videos make it even more easy to begin. Knowing the two recipes for “cheese” sauce are a lifesaver and I’m so grateful. I’ve gone plant based in the past and fell off the wagon in 3 months bc it was sooooo complicated-and trying to learn what to “cook” after a lifetime of cooking Italian and paleo, I couldn’t keep up. Thank you for making this simple and reinforcing that we really can do this without recipes. 50/50 plate, here I come! I got mired down in vegan pasta, etc and it’s made me gain it all back. 50/50 plate is gonna be my hero!

I remember when I was doing starch solution I started slimming down real fast. Then all this vegan junk food came out and I now have 20 pounds to lose. I’ve already lost 10 in 3 months but not following maximum weight loss, just being more cautious but not cutting out all oil or processed things. Weight is at a stand still now, think I’m ready to dive in, thanks for the info :)

Great video! 👍 I am a new subscriber after I accidentally found your channel two days. 💞 thanks😁 I eat clean, healthy foods, Organic, etc but have been so frustrated with my lack of weight loss and have been so frustrated for so long. Here I am eating healthy, clean, organic foods, juice, take acv, drink lemon water, etc but I can't seem to lose 190 lbs. I start to see progress and I get to 185 but then stop losing weight. I suffered with for years with inflammation for years, but drastically reduced it with all of my healthy eating, no more seasonal allergies, no more headaches, but I can't get the effing weight off even after I workout! My belly is just so big, but I have skinny legs. I've gotten so many tests over the years and am always told I am very healthy, so now I turned 50 yrs old, took testing again but this time I took more extensive testing and again I am healthy. I have chronic stress and Anxiety from being in a abusive relationship for years, so I figured that was it. I'm done, just done, I'm irritated, frustrated, angry, emotional and just not my happy go lucky self. Once I found your video I was in shock 😯. I eat avocados daily, oils like Avocado Oil and Olive Oil. I am happy I found your video. I am excited to get this started. 😁 I too need to lose 50 lbs and get back down to 120 - 125 lbs and I'll be happy n

Thank you for this video - I have been a plant-based vegan for 10 years and am so burnt out on recipe cooking. I had no problem maintaining a healthy weight until a medication caused me to gain 30 lbs (I am no longer taking it, as it is not needed). It has been taking me way too long to get it off, and frustrating to boot. Until recently, I was even counting calories, which I absolutely hate! As always, excellent presentation. I have been binge watching your videos for the last few days and starting this eating plan for about two days. I have to say that immediately, from day one, I began to lose my appetite for sweets (shall we say oreos...I ate them by the bagful)....I feel fuller longer. I'm more alert (less need to nap in the afternoon, whereas before I would nap almost as soon as breakfast was over)....And all of this from not being fully on program. We still have some non-compliant things that we are trying to eat up. (Hubby cant stand to throw out food) But we are incorporating more of the Starch Solution principles in each meal. And all of this from watching your videos...The McDougall books will arrive tomorrow. So excited to jump in even more and see the results....Thank you for these excellent videos.

Wow! I started yesterday and lost 1 1/2 kilos in 24 hours! 🙌🏼. I recently lost 14 kilos but then stopped for over a month and lost nothing. I actually gained weight which was annoying. I was eating avocado daily and olive oil on everything, chicken, eggs and turkey and lots of salads and veges. Very helpful. I had weight loss surgery 3 years ago and I lost over 200 pounds. Now my weight loss has stalled and I've gained 14 more pounds. I will try this for a month and continue as I see results. Thanks for explaining this. My only question is about sugars and coffee?

Because they are so delicious and satiating, we are content to eat these all week with big salads and steamed veggies. But...I have 31 fruit trees in my yard so eat a bit more fruit than I should. I'm going back to veggies (it's never been steamed cabbage but it will be now) at breakfast to counter my fruit consumption, although I'm in a healthy weight range. Thank you for confirming what I was suspecting- that I was overthinking and would copy recipes, plan, dream, etc., when all along if I just simplify, everything will go easier! As long as I have cooked grains, potatoes, & beans, I can mix & match veggies and not stress over meal planning (easy because it's just me eating this way).

I've been vegan for 10 years, but I gained 15 pounds since the pandemic started. I just started transitioning to McDougal's way of eating to get the excess weight off and feel better. This video was so helpful. Kiki explains things so well and she looks so healthy. I'm inspired!
I would advise people who're already in healthy weight range that want to lose more weight to start lifting weights, the extra muscle will suck up the last of the fat and you'll end up looking smaller just because you're more toned.

Nancy Slagle I wish I could say yes but I can’t. It has stalled. I came down with shingles and a UTI recently and with the virus scare I have been lazier than usual. I also am a type one diabetic (20 yrs) and have to treat lows occasionally so I never feel like I’m completely off sugar. I just read Mastering Diabetes and will be trying their suggestions. I just started the 50/50 plate this Monday. I love it! Haven't eaten this much in a long time. Once I've had my first meal of the day, I've got to really push myself to have a lunch. I am so full and with the sweet potatoes, I don't feel the need to have my usual in snacks. I live in Scotland. I've been overweight since my ms diagnosis ten years ago. Me too and though I’ve been doing this almost a year I’ve recently removed all nuts and avocados and finally seeing the scale move a bit. I’ve been in the upper160s and this last month in low 160s. It’s been extremely slow but I’m hoping my body will start releasing this fat. I have a small frame and should weigh 115.

I have been binge watching your videos all weekend. I finally decided to make my first meal. I had some leftover vegetarian Bolognese. I made a huge salad with kale and another green leafy vegetable. I have never felt this good after eating a meal. I am satiated, full of energy. I feel like I can climb a mountain. I am definitely going to give this diet a try!! This way of eating is so simple and satisfying. I often feel like I'm eating too much food but in just under 6 weeks I'm already down 12 lbs. I do high carb low fat but I don't really follow the starch solution because I feel best when I make my first meal a big fruit smoothie with lots of greens.

I've been vegan since 2005, and whole food/unprocessed for nearly 5 years since starting Chef AJ's program. After using them my whole life, I'm starting to cook without recipes! You've inspired me to make my own pico and pintos (why did I never make pintos before this??), and I've been enjoying them every night for dinner with greens. :)

💯 agree with you on this, Kiki. Thank you for the reminder. First thing to do when you hit a plateau is: Go back to basics! Review and re-tweak everything… Am I eating any fats, am I eating anything processed, am I drinking enough water, getting enough sleep? Review it all and make your adjustments. As good as I think I am being, there can always be some old habit creeping it’s way back into my life.

I'm the type of person that can eat veggies without needing sauces, so this should go easy. Here's to some major weight loss! My biggest problem was pasta and breads, my weight wouldn't budge even though I was eating healthy, so I'm going to take those out of my diet.

I stated following this plan last week and did find myself a bit overwhelmed about what to make. Breakfast is always oatmeal but I got hung up a bit with lunch and dinner. Wow! Best explanation ever! Just straight to the point. I’ve been a vegan for a long time and had a hard time losing weight until I tried intermittent fasting. Lost 43 lbs, now reached a plateau and I started the starch diet yesterday for last 10 lbs I need to lose!
Your videos are excellent! Seriously, I’ve read McDougall and his books are understandable, but your videos make it even more easy to begin. Knowing the two recipes for “cheese” sauce are a lifesaver and I’m so grateful. I’ve gone plant based in the past and fell off the wagon in 3 months bc it was sooooo complicated-and trying to learn what to “cook” after a lifetime of cooking Italian and paleo, I couldn’t keep up. Thank you for making this simple and reinforcing that we really can do this without recipes. 50/50 plate, here I come! I got mired down in vegan pasta, etc and it’s made me gain it all back. 50/50 plate is gonna be my hero!

I remember when I was doing starch solution I started slimming down real fast. Then all this vegan junk food came out and I now have 20 pounds to lose. I’ve already lost 10 in 3 months but not following maximum weight loss, just being more cautious but not cutting out all oil or processed things. Weight is at a stand still now, think I’m ready to dive in, thanks for the info :)

Great video! 👍 I am a new subscriber after I accidentally found your channel two days. 💞 thanks😁 I eat clean, healthy foods, Organic, etc but have been so frustrated with my lack of weight loss and have been so frustrated for so long. Here I am eating healthy, clean, organic foods, juice, take acv, drink lemon water, etc but I can't seem to lose 190 lbs. I start to see progress and I get to 185 but then stop losing weight. I suffered with for years with inflammation for years, but drastically reduced it with all of my healthy eating, no more seasonal allergies, no more headaches, but I can't get the effing weight off even after I workout! My belly is just so big, but I have skinny legs. I've gotten so many tests over the years and am always told I am very healthy, so now I turned 50 yrs old, took testing again but this time I took more extensive testing and again I am healthy. I have chronic stress and Anxiety from being in a abusive relationship for years, so I figured that was it. I'm done, just done, I'm irritated, frustrated, angry, emotional and just not my happy go lucky self. Once I found your video I was in shock 😯. I eat avocados daily, oils like Avocado Oil and Olive Oil. I am happy I found your video. I am excited to get this started. 😁 I too need to lose 50 lbs and get back down to 120 - 125 lbs and I'll be happy n

Thank you for this video - I have been a plant-based vegan for 10 years and am so burnt out on recipe cooking. I had no problem maintaining a healthy weight until a medication caused me to gain 30 lbs (I am no longer taking it, as it is not needed). It has been taking me way too long to get it off, and frustrating to boot. Until recently, I was even counting calories, which I absolutely hate! As always, excellent presentation. I have been binge watching your videos for the last few days and starting this eating plan for about two days. I have to say that immediately, from day one, I began to lose my appetite for sweets (shall we say oreos...I ate them by the bagful)....I feel fuller longer. I'm more alert (less need to nap in the afternoon, whereas before I would nap almost as soon as breakfast was over)....And all of this from not being fully on program. We still have some non-compliant things that we are trying to eat up. (Hubby cant stand to throw out food) But we are incorporating more of the Starch Solution principles in each meal. Wow! I started yesterday and lost 1 1/2 kilos in 24 hours! 🙌🏼. I recently lost 14 kilos but then stopped for over a month and lost nothing. I actually gained weight which was annoying. I was eating avocado daily and olive oil on everything, chicken, eggs and turkey and lots of salads and veges.
