Neo Tokyo has gone from my least favorite due to how technical it is, to my top 3 locations. The music is incredible, the track - once learned - is so satisfying to navigate, and the visuals are fantastic. Clean racing too, impressive!
It's interesting: the clean, anime-like look, the warmer reds and deeper blue solids are very appealing, as opposed to Mt Fuji, Mars or Genesis, and stand in total contrast to Old Calima: so nearly photo-realistic yet has almost no solid colors at all, but Calima still works for me. I feel like someone is trying to make a bold statement with these contrasting visual styles, which in Redout 2 some are (to me) extremely garish to say the least. They actually hurt my eyes, but I like to hang out in Neo-Tokyo: it's just very inviting.
Agreed. Neo Tokyo, much like Cloud Sea requires a particularly large amount of track knowledge. You really cant wing it like Fuji or Cairo, which IMHO makes it actually a lot more interesting. Once I really nailed down the Tartarus Mines, they're my personal #1... Admittedly *mostly* for the music but I find the track fun too.
Honestly, it kinda makes sense that Tokyo would have a futuristic race track, and I'm so glad it's this good! And apparently it's on another planet, too? That's cool!
You mentioned before that you nerf yourself against nightmare AI with low top speed would you mind going full meta car max improvements and destroy the ai trying to overlap them for a quick video I’d absolutely love to see you using your full power.
Hella Nice Run! When I turn off assists I am mostly pinball on these tracks, and always pinball where it matters most. It's hard for me to get below 4:00:00 on this Boss lap with the helpers turned on, but they do work: they allow me to believe that I know what I'm doing. I want to believe. ;)
Are you doing this all without assist?! If yes, damn you make it look easy. Recently picked up this gem so will be trying to learn from get go without assist, complexity of ship control is fun in it's own right, skill really matters in this case and I loving it.
No assists! Turned them off straight away as well. In my first 2 vids on the game, you can see how I've got them all off. I didn't figure out that you could just turn the whole system off as an option for a while tho, so I just had all the bars at 0% like an idiot for a week or two lol
@@Joltout Ohhhh! Damn man, you rock. You make it look so damn easy now and I gonna keep hitting the walls on those turns haha! Thanks for answering, have nice one!
Bro you're crazy, keep doing it I'm lookin up to you. Bonus question: Koeniggswerth Championship; ARENA RACE (B League). Is the trophy even possible? Cannot find a way to land that 5th perfect, the 3rd jump doesn't count as landing. I'm stuck :(
Many people on Steam are saying you can abuse the rewind feature to get those extra perfect landings. I have used it to get a perfect landing after several attempts, but not to get multiple perfect landings off a single jump. Can't hurt to try it. There are problematic jump trophies in other events as well.
this seems like an unpopular map, which is unfortunate. it's hard to enjoy if you aren't familiar with it, but once you learn it and can nail the corners, it becomes a great technical map with a distinct feel. it's not my favorite set of tracks by any means, but they're still very solid.
i think it's too much of everything, but i see that such tracks has to exist. mt fuji is super fun, netpune was an absolute epic masterpiece and then there are shitz like alaska or tokyo. but in the end all tracks are fun if mastered
@@fabianbok3623 In Redout 1 the first times i raced in the Alien World track i hated, i keep blowing up every few seconds, but when i got the hang of it, it became my favorite track
hey jolt, i got a question: in redout 1 are at best 3 corners where you have to use the breaks, everything else is doable by speedbumping. BUT: in Redout 2 breaks help for cooldown. do you use tactical breaks now more often or is it just like in former times?
If I'm about to explode from overheating, I'll tap the brakes a few times to get the heat down. Else, I brake ALL the time for corners in RO2. By comparison, I never used them in RO1.
The strafe is insane. You're just drifting, all the time, and maintaining speed like you're going straight.
This ship, with little base grip and huge top speed, is imo, the most satisfying beast to ride.

That jump at 4:47 is delicious

How good u r even nightmare aint stop u , Amazing!!
It's scary how good you are at taking those corners at the beginning
The soundtrack is top tier god level
That would be Riot by Dance With The Dead.
This is why more people need to know of this game's existence.
Your insane bro 🔥
Beautiful run!

Wow. Conqueror is notorious for poor steering, and Joltout makes it out to be a Wallace
Is nightmare highest difficulty? if so, leading with 10+ kilometers... damn due, respect xD
It is, and thanks lol :D

Does anyone know which song off the soundtrack is playing here? I'm having a hell of a time picking out which one this is.
