Hey Antonio. Do you have a video about how to choose a proper inseam with respect to height and type of pant/Jean cuts? I'm short 5'8 and have bulky thighs. My go tos are levis 511 with a 30" inseam. But this look still bunches up at the heels of my shoes. I want that no break look. Should I shoot for 29" or keep drying them and hope that they shrink lengthwise? Thanks for helping.

Hey Antonio, big fan! I have a question for you. I am a big guy. Big as in big not tall, if you know what I mean. My wife is graduating college this may and want to wear a sports coat. Is a sports coat flattering for an over weight guy and where would I start looking for one? Thanks for all of your advice.

I wear undershirts almost everyday during the winter and sometimes fall. It keeps me slightly more insulated, it’s an easy way to layer, it makes me look slightly more buff, and yes it keeps my slightly large nipples from visually assaulting everyone through the thin shirts I usually wear

Definitely Pro-Undershirt. I can understand not being used to it, but it was a mandatory uniform item for 20 years for me. It's just automatic. It's also very true about getting more use out of your shirts as well. It's a no brainier. In addition, the need for a quality shirt with moisture wicking is key.

I wear an undershirt all the time. Im a bigger guy 390lbs and found that an undershirt is a must. Being as big as I am when I lift my arms up the bottom of my stomach can show and I just feel its only right to have an undershirt to keep your skin from showing. An undershirt also helps keep your skin from getting irritated from your suspenders.

    • @DinnerForkTongue
      @DinnerForkTongue Рік тому

Oh, right, suspenders. I can see those causing chafing easily.
Also, as a fellow fat guy, undershirts help a lot with hiding belly skin, whether from lifting the arms or from a suboptimal fit causing the mid-button sections to flare open when I'm sitting. That was very embarrassing in the school uniform - I felt like a slob.

I'm personally on Team Undershirt all day every day.
I found them out by accident when I was in middle school, around 6th or 7th grade. We had strict uniform standards, such as a button shirt and slacks for regular study days and a tank top with shorts for PE class. And I sweat _a lot,_ always did, so I ended up with a MASSIVE sweat stain on my back and on the pits regardless of deodorant brand. Since we had PE always early on in the day but couldn't enter the place with the PE uniform, several of us wore the tank tops under the button shirts to enter the campus to make changing into the PE uniform faster. Just so happened that on a hot day I realised I wasn't staining my button shirt with the tank top under it. Real bingo moment. My mother mentioned that her father was a stylish man who worse undershirts when out of the bakery, so I always wore them as underwear ever since, even in the most casual days imaginable with sneakers and t-shirts.
That said, I do not go for pure cotton ones, even if the fiber is thin and of good quality. My reason is, cotton doesn't promote evaporation, so when it gets drenched it stays drenched. I prefer a mixed mail of cotton and polyester, which in the right size is snug but comfortable and wicks away humidity really well. As for them showing under the shirt (like the stitching around the edges), that's why I don't wear shirts of thin mail.
EDIT: I also don't wear undershirts standalone, much like I don't wear my boxers standalone. Underwear is UNDERwear for good reason.

Real Men Real Style Typically yeah, but growing up in north Texas, I found it easier to protect the duration and look of my nicer clothing when wearing a lighter layer underneath. Do I run the risk of cranking up the heat? Quite possibly. But when carefully played out right, in terms of the rest of my outfit, I find it to be practical when it comes to not having the risk of showing sweat marks in my nice clothing. IMO

Although I don't wear dress shirts as often as I used to, I've gotten in the habit of wearing undershirts that it still sticks with me to this day, even will t-shirts. Without it I feel weird and naked. I like that extra mild compression on my torso, it makes me more aware of the motion of my body.

Yes, wear them. I see way too many employees sweat through and or have the hair coming out. With white shirts I believe it is a must for most men. It makes white shirts whiter and hides all of the stuff no one wants to see. Just an opinion of mine but have seen and heard feedback from coworkers and clients pull me aside and bring it up as a point of hygiene.

There's also the matter of appearance. If you sweat through your dresses, even if you don't show the slighest BO, you still look sleazy, like you're dressing above your capabilities. This can tank your image, especially if you work with sales.

Originally, I used Hanes “xtemp” which supposedly lowers your body temp to prevent sweating. SOMEONE IS FIBBING! I still was hot and it didn’t fix the problem. In Australia we wear singlets although some do wear the under shirt or we call them T-shirts. However there are a few different singlets some have a thick shoulder strap and harder to find these days are the thin shoulder strap. But you are so correct unless your under garment fits properly you will spend your day/night fidgeting to distraction and feeling fat.

I have a Thompson Tee...thought it would be really nice...but when I received it it felt like there were maxi-pads in the pits. I figured I'd give it a try anyway, but between the maxi-pad armpits and the bamboo fiber construction, it really makes you overheat and sweat more than a regular undershirt made of polyester, lycra, modal, or a comparable fabric with no reinforcement in the pits. The bamboo is also a very friction-bearing fabric. Not a fan. However, I do hope to find an undershirt that meets my needs.

I can tell, because I sweat like a park fountain when it's even slightly warm or at the slightest physical exertion, and I live in a tropical country, and an undershirt prevents those ugly and uncomfortable wet stains.

I used to wear undershirts years ago and then I forgot about them. Now I've seen the video I'm gonna give them a try again, I think. It is 100% true that shirts are more protected from your own skin when wearing an undershirt. Thanks, Antonio, and great outro, BTW.

Of course if you have hyperhidrosis, you must wear an undershirt . Men its called function over fashion, but of course don't pick chipest one . And go to original and high quality one , just like that Thompson tee it's very comfortable and amazing product

Having been in the military, undershirts are a must. And I have no problem if they show under your dress shirt. A patterned undershirt is no undershirt, for the record. I would normally wear my shirt with 2 or sometimes even the top 3 buttons discreetly unbuttoned. If my T's show up, no biggie!

I have a military school background and my undershirts are all PE uniform white tank tops. Still buy them from military apparel stores to this day.

I was never instructed on any type of way to dress or use of deodorant when I grew up so my first prefessional job at 18 years old where I worked both inside an office and out in the field with the Army Corps of Engineers I learned the hard way. After working hard outside one day my boss took me aside and told me I stunk and was offending the ladies of the office and I learned quick how to utilize an undershirt for sweat absorbtion and as a barrier to my outer uniform shirt. I was embarrassed to say the least and didnt even realize I smelled bad but that made me a believer in the under shirt. The materials that are available today Under Armour for one are much better but I still prefer a Cotton tee. The new fabrics are just too pricey for me. I just have to replace them more often as they get stained. Having spent the last 18 years in uniforms and suits for court I am never without my undershirt. Any one who has worn kevlar or had to sit on a witness stand in court knows the benefits of breathable layers under and outside the vest amd uniform.

Hi! This is a good video. I am wearing undershirts under my shirts. My very first reason is skin sensitivity (I have ASD and SPD). For all the other listed reasons, I found out later. Even if it is summer, very hot or dunno what, I wear undershirts...

It is super hot here, up in Northern California; I was really wanting to wear something nicer than dark t...but still stay cool. Was thinking a button-up with no t might just do the trick. Look better, but, stay cool too.

I wear undershirts in the winter. In the summer I end up washing shirts after one wear regardless so my summer shirts are slimmer (trim) fit and winter shirts are just slim or even regular fit (depending on the brand, to allow some room for the undershirt). I found UniQlo undershirts to work best for me (just for those who want to try, they also have good thermals for the winter, shame they are not sponsoring RMRS or not yet?). Anthony, good video otherwise, and yes, you are completely unbiased ;)

Very informative, I’m going to start wearing them more often! What about under tank tops? I wear them once in a while. I don’t sweat under my arms, but I do sweat in the front chest area though.

Team undershirt. By the way I love to use a compresion type undershirt as they fit pretty comfortable under any type of dress shirts even under a regular T-shirt. I do this because I'm a big chewbacca guy. So I try to always look clean and this is what has worked best for me.
Kind Regards Antonio keep on the good work.

We in India one is taught to use undershirts as a must, since one reaches the age of going to school. Not using it is considered as a bad habit. The main reason being India has a hot tropical climate except in winter which lasts just about 2 or 3 months. So undershirts become an essential item, just like underwears on lower parts and socks on feet. And we never put these on again without washing while changing dresses.

As a musician who plays (and goes) to gigs in the summer regularly, it is WAY too hot to wear an undershirt or not unbutton at least four buttons when playing those outdoor gigs, and most venues make it unbearably hot on stage. I'm just used to not wearing one, and just some clear deodorant solves the pit stain problem for me

The undershirt protects from sweat, but cotton retain moisture and the second sweating moment will go over the first wet layer and it will stink.

Team Undershirt! Mainly because I’ve worn them all of my life and I’m used to it and comfortable in them. I’m not comfortable if I DON’T have one on, even in warm weather - it takes a while for the self consciousness to go away, if it does at all. Undershirts work for me!

Team undershirt, I tired going no undershirt but it chefs my nipples and neck lol. BTW, after a few hours collared dress shirts start to chef along the side of my neck and might cause a small red blemish after a long day. Any suggestions to resolve that cause I can't just cover it up with an undershirt?

I work in Australia at nightclubs, as most of the night is spent standing outside the front door. I usually always where a t-shirt or a singlet under my shirt. Side note doesn’t hide sweat stains, but ladies seem to prefer the look of a singlet

I have about a half dozen dress shirts from MInistry, and in my experience, their Archive/Daystarter/whatever they are calling it now shirts seem to never show any stains and actually don't hold much water, unlike cotton, so they dry very quickly if you sweat through them. In tropical weather, it is a god send and mostly negates the need for an undershirt.

It gives of a little sting, but leaves me with a cleaner look. IMO. Also, wool is ALLOT better at keeping dry, as it breaths allot better, and to a certain degree help keeps keep b.o away.
