This song was a response to their haters who told them they would never succeed. The opening scene was a press conference. When BTS started the media in Korea were also against them.
I've always taken it as an interrogation room, because the next scene is a prison...with 7 cell doors
@@entropyawylli24 I always took the prison cells to represent something metaphorical like being imprisoned by other people’s comments, ecxpectations and a corrupt system. They were overcame all of that to succeed - Mic drop 🎤

@@entropyawylli24 that’s the beauty of BTS. I know many of their songs can be interpreted to be about a romantic relationship but when a listener learns about what BTS was going through around the time the song comes out, it’s easy to see that the song is about what the members are going through.

The media has actually attacked BTS at press conferences with false accusations of various things and it's so hateful and pathetic

I've met ARMY (BTS fandom) from the Netherlands some from Amsterdam and some from Haarlem, both men and women of different ages from 18years olds to one gentleman in his early 60's.
Great combination for a reaction, one who loves them and knows a lot about them and one who does not but is open minded. Very interesting genuine chit chat too!
See, I used to be a close-minded "reaction video" hater and I used to think reactors don't add value to the work they're reacting to but, I was sorely mistaken. People like filmmakers, editors, dancers, choreographers, vocal analysts, etc. add sooo much value to the mv's we all watch and love. Ive watched this video a million times, I listen to this song on the daily, but I never noticed the little mirror detail before. I got to learn something new and I learn every time I watch reaction videos like this; reactors make us really appreciate aspects of the videos and music which can be missed sometimes. Learning the process of creation and little tidbits is always fun.

Mic Drop is BTS' response to their haters with a little flexing on the side spitting facts...lol. with Suga's epic lines "tasteless ratatouille" & "sue it". I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet To Come Busan concert last October 2022 where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time....but so worth it. You will feel the same energy. 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯 thanks for reacting to BTS.

No son cursis por bailar como decía tu hermano de otros grupos antiguos, estas coreografías son de un nivel y dificultad alucinante…. Y elllos bailan y cantan así en vivo. Tienes que mostrarle algunas actuaciones de las canciones que ya le has mostrado en vivo. Por ejemplo “Mic drop 2017 en los MAMA” una de las miles de actuación en vivo icónicas de BTS, o en cualquiera de sus conciertos. Son increíbles en concierto, que energía!

There are a lot of BTS fans in the Netherlands! They was in the Netherlands for their WorldTour in Amsterdam Ziggo Dome in 2018 and was supposed to have a WorldTour in 2020 and come to Rotterdam, but the Covid happend. Ik ben van Nederland en fan van BTS sinds 2013! Het is minder bekend omdat wij een klein land zijn en niet behoren tot de grootste muziek markten, dus we maken niet veel geluid, of tenminste ons geluid is op de achtergrond 😂. Maar BTS is overal wereldwijd bekend!

Their earlier works from debut (June 2013) through 2016 were harder hip-hop; however, BTS's songs are wide-ranging and encompass numerous genres!!! Once I discovered Suga's mixtapes and D-Day album as Agust D, I never looked back!!!! Suga is and will always be my forever bias!!!! 💜
U really need to watch their live performances its really lead them to being the biggest band in the world and the eighth streamed artist of all time across all streaming platforms with 77 billion streams.... They had 40 billion streams on Spotify and 37 billion on UA-cam
The thing with BTS is that they invented the long storyline. There are references to philosophy, pop culture, psychology, art, other artists, and significant social issues. On top of that, they have pioneered the strong unified concept which marries lyrics, soundscape, excellent choreo, and strong stage and video visuals. I am nearly 68, and as you learn more about BTS, you will find you cannot put them in a genre box, and the BTS Army crosses generations and cultural backgrounds. Enjoy the dive. These young men are immensely talented. Stray Kids who are up and coming and also now global megastars, have OFTEN said they consider BTS their role models. Oh, and they are dancers, singers and rappers, for real. Good luck singing if you learn to dance like that. They train for hours a day to perform.
54 year old army. I would recommend checking out each members solo albums first to get to know each member. I am OT7. I love each member they are all unique.

All BTS music videos are a cinematic production. Some mvs have scenes that look like CGI but are real. I suggest Blood Sweat Tears, Fake Love, Not today, ON, DNA, IDOL, Daechwita... I'm sure you'll like it.

Maybe you should watch the Rise of Bangtan together... It gives more information about the K-pop Industry and South Korean culture and you can get to know more about their personalities. It follows the members pre-debut till 2018 (I think) and you can see how hard they've worked to get were they are now. Another good one is the Guide to BTS by Taylor Marie... And Hardships 2013-2021...

First, people who are not familiar with the topic associate BTS with K-pop. This is a mistake that you gradually realize is not really the case. K-pop is an industry that creates music for fun. There's nothing wrong with that, of course. BTS, on the other hand, create art.

I've been listening to them for almost 8 years now and I'm getting more and more attached to them...I understand you completely.

Your brother is like the first one I've seen that picked up on the conference turning in to interrogation room and then they're in the prison. Yes, he's interpreted the mv well. Their haters tried to put them in a prison but they've broken out anyway, and Mic Drop is a goodbye to those haters because they're moving on from being held up by them. Nice!

If you want a BTS experience to react to it's definitely the Busan concert, their cyphers, Dimple, Pied Piper, Run BTS, Fire, Danger...well to tell the truth it's every single song. I tried to start watching everything in order but they just keep dumping content to keep ARMY from missing them during these 2 years of MS. The Busan concert will give you a good mix of different eras. Just a side note, they don't have an opening act for their concerts it's a straight 2.5-3 hours of pure BTS.

You like unique sets and total awesomeness? Fake Love is a must, it’s a cinematic marvel. (Also, Blood Sweat and Tears is another mind bending DEEP storyline with atmosphere to match). Mic Drop is embedded in their history. If you watch any of their background stories, you’ll see they had a bit of a hard time fitting into the music world (especially starting out in Korea), since they were not specifically any one genre. The rappers and hip hop people were especially hard on them. This is why they call it the Rabbit Hole, the further in you go, the more you realize how much more there still is to learn-and you find you don’t really want to get out!!!

So a thing about the filing/editing. There’s behind the scenes footage, they’re squatting down and they run into the shot. It’s all choreographed to use as few continuous shots as possible. I love seeing how they do these shots so I recommend watching some of the behind the scenes filing shoots. They do this in a lot of their videos, “Dope” for example, and I believe “I Need U” have some cool behind the scenes shots of several crouching behind the camera so they can sprint into position when the shot pans around.

I can't remember where I saw it... maybe in a BANGTANBOMB video? JK danced that part in the glass twice to create the "reflection". So he had to dance it in the opposite direction in the other room. Which is phenomenal.

It's always pretty interesting how people discover BTS. I'm from Germany and I was actually watching a dance group dancing to Dynamite ( to be precise it was this one: ua-cam.com/video/VCPkhcLwsrE/v-deo.htmlsi=x3dhjwo2NVfg-IPn ) Maybe, as BTS started out as a HipHop group, musicwise the old songs like No More Dreams, Bulletproof Pt. 2, Danger and of course the songs of the rap-line suit a hiphop fan more. But that's what makes BTS successful, they've got something for every musical taste, from pop to EDM, from Hiphop to Rock. And I started to listen to genres I usually don't listen to. That's the BTS effect :)

I feel what the guy on the left said. I live in Belgium, and there are a few people who know the name BTS, but they have no idea about what they sing at all. It's somehow even worse than in the US where they mostly know only a few songs. They aren't well-known by the general public at all here
The thing is that they grew little by little globally but at some point, everyone started talking about them. It was around 2017-2018, especially after they won 'Top Social Artist' at the BBMAs. Most people didn't even knew who they were when they received the prize against some of the biggest American artists, haha
They definitely feel trapped during press conferences (and some interviews too). Reporters always try to make them say things in a way they could twist it. They sometimes even receive direct attacks because they expect a reaction out of them. It's really petty and disgusting
My favorite part is the chorus for the fact that it's such big "f*ck you" to Antis. They used to mock BTS and ARMY because they didn't have any daesangs (grand prizes) after 3 years and continued to mock and compare them other bigger groups from bigger companies. Now they hold the record of most daesangs in History with over 70 and over 1000 awards 🙂↕️💜

They often have fire and fireworks on stage that all go off at the right time. The slow motion of them jumping off the table they were on wire's and as the jump the wire pull them backwards and they then it was slowed down.
In another MV's Jungkook is running along a hallway as sections of the floor fall away behind him. He was wearing a harness in case he tripped he was told to run fast and keep running. They edit of the wires and harnesses in post production. Another MV V jumps into the sea and we see him falling backwards under the water going further down. There's an MV were suga is sitting in a big comfortable arm chair and there's fire explosion and he's safe but said he could feel the heat. Jungkook in one performance is hanging off wire's said he thought his hips were going to break. They are adrenalin junkies. They bungie jump of the side's of buildings.
They are based in Hip Hop and R & B with the 3 Rappers all coming from the underground Hip Hop scene with both Suga(aka Agust D) and RM as Rappers and J Hope as Street Dancer from the Street Dance Crew Neuron. However they all enjoy many different genre's of music so they'll use whatever genre they like and mix them in different ways as well.
You better watch first BTS documentary (BTS hardships) so can get to know BTS members and their beginnings. Then start watching from 2013 their live performances, MV's, award performances, concerts, TV shows like Run BTS, Bon Voyage, In The Soop & more.
