RADIO and Flick are both active members of the fur community. They became involved around the ages of 13 by creating furry fan art, which they sold to other fur enthusiasts. As they grew older they both learned how to make their own fursuits, growing their online presence within the international community. The two met online and finally in person at a fur convention, developing a strong friendship. The duo are passionate about changing the conversation around furries, showing how positive and powerful the community is. Their involvement in the community has given them an opportunity to grow in their confidence as well as making loads of new friends.

The fact that they created their characters and even designed and created the costumes from scratch is mind blowing because you can see how much talented they've become at it and the amount of time they spent making them also says a lot about how centered they are about their goals, plus the enjoyment they get out of playing their characters with other people who understand them

I liked it when she said "we are just cosplaying our own characters". And i think, thats a valid point to think about. We dont judge people that dress up for Carneval, Halloween or Renfaires or even for Conventions and Roleplay Events. In the end these are all Cosplays of Characters. So furries are not different at all to other dress ups!

I’ve been a furry for a long time now… there’s been times I’ve considered leaving though due to all the hate we do get, it’s very sad when people don’t even want to hear you out and call you all these things without research it brings you down, I love the fandom and I don’t think I’ll ever leave cause most my friends are furries and I love drawing and making suits, it is full of so many talented and amazing and kind people and I love it for that, I just wish I didn’t have to deal with so much hate that I have to be scared to tell people I’m a furry

It’s weird that people hate furries, they’re very talented, and creative won their costumes. They’re very original with their characters. And it cost quite a bit for a costume.

A lot of furries actually have amazing and talented jokes like nursing technology even in emergency services and past acting or acting in the military 😊
All the furries I have met are super nice, creative, fun people! They are honestly one of the most accepting communities. Yes there are some really cringe people/content, yes there is A LOT of 18+ material. I've been to a couple fur cons and honestly- they were uncomfortable, I find the adult content REALLY off putting and don't think I'd ever go to another one. Doing meets with friends or smaller like minded groups is way more fun. If the fandom and cons were split into PG and 18+ I think it would help but they are usually mixed in the common areas of events, therefore exposing alot of D: stuff. If the people who just want to play around and get into shenanigans in their suits, or create or dance, etc broke off from the kink people it would help the image.
which cons did you go to? asking so ik which ones to stay away from :,) from what i’ve heard they usually don’t allow inappropriate things in the common areas, esp not during the day

For anyone who dislikes/hate furries, let me just give you a brief introduction to the furry fandom. Furries are generally people who like anthropomorphic animals and some of us like dressing up in our characters, while others like making art of our characters. We are not to be confused with zoophiles which have no affiliation with the furry fandom and most furries also hate zoos. In a nutshell we are just trying to have fun. I know I have not covered all the things but this is just a little bit of info for anyone that doesn’t understand furries!

Exactly. There are computer games like Roblox that have so many "crazy" people who will refer to other players dressed as animals, whether it's just wings, animal ears, or a tail as zoophiles. I know this from my daughter who plays and gets reported all the time.
@@lelulollie Your example is very true, people to mix up furries with zoophiles, and its our job to help them understand, we are not to hate them but we are to educate them.
Yes zoophiles are not furries yet they act like furries which is why people confuse them with furries. Keep in mind mursuiters are also mistaken for fursuiters. A furusiter uses there fursuit for enjoyment and role playing and dress up. Where a mursuiter may do that plus use it for sex. What people get wrong is that they assume that all furries are sexual this is not true. Every fandom is already sexualized. However mursuiter are technically a sub fandom of the furry fandom. How is this so well when you take a fandom idea and you split it up onto something else based on that fandom it's called a sub fandom. So are mursuiters furries yes but they are in a sub fandom of the furry fandom. Meaning mursuiters are not the reason the fandom exist.

I've never understood the hate.. people enjoy being miserable adults instead and are brainwashed just hating cause others hate..I wanna do this if I can make my own custom as they are expensive and I could walk around town all day as my own version of Chuckie Cheese entertaining little kids and a lot of adults .. During Covid everyone was such in fear and kids were scared I'd walk through town everyday during covids worse time in full clown paint and outfits .. different clown paint everyday and make people and kids smile and all the police loved me .It's what we need in bad times
It's amazing how they spend all their time just to cos-play as their own character to get away from the real world, it's honestly quite amazing. Imagine a world where you are your own character and you don't have any problems in life other than being a great person, I do have a few furry friends and can say that they're extremely kind people to be with.

@@KingManga360 20% of the fandom have a fursuit and it’s an even smaller number of that percentage that actually do adult things in suit. Most people don’t want fluids on a £2000+ costume.

They just want to hide because they are insecure.” Or “These *animals* dont’t have human rights!” “They just think they are animals.” None of these are true and we all know it! the ONLY thing i dont like about these kinds of videos is that they keep portraying furries as people who ALWAYS own fursuits and ONLY dress up in suits and thats the whole "point" of the community when uts literally not, its just because fursuits are such an "out there" thing that they get showcased and portrayed everywhere so people think thats all a furry is, someone who dresses up as an animal, but its not and its so frustrating because like not even half of furries even own fursuits

I’ve been in many fandoms and I left all of them because of toxicity, bullying, and others inappropriate behavior but I never left one of them, the furry fandom. The fandom’s kind, accepting, and fun
They're awesome. I took a picture with a group of Furries a few years ago while attending a Cherry Blossom Festival in Philly. The details they all had in their costumes were amazing.

To everyone who saying furries are gross, weird, 'fatherless', ect: the majority of the fandom are normal people who enjoy making art or cosplaying anthropomorphic characters. The hobby of being a furry is typically about having fun and being silly. The other kind of the fandom are often disowned from the space by some.
ALSO z00philes are *NOT* furries! They claim to be furries so that they can get some form of publicity, but they aren't. They are a disgusting kind of people.
Also I feel like people have forgotten that there’s a bad side to EVERY fandom like Undertale, Gacha, FNaF, Sonic, etc

I didn’t know furries still existed! I remember them in like 2008 but haven’t seen them around in awhile haha. It got a bad rep but I used to know some furries and they were super cool, it was just a fun hobby for them and made them happy, and they’re not hurting anyone! :) I think it’s neat!

This is one of the only good videos I've seen big UA-cam channels post about furries. So many people try and make furries look bad when in reality they just want to have fun and dress up! I really like that yall had them talk rather than a non furry pretend to know what they're talking about.

Cheapskate me has simply used Maskimals heads and Kigurumi pajamas, however I found a high quality Unicorn head and hooves from Target that really suit me.

I considered leaving the fandom recently, but not I'm keeping it secret from my school and staying 😌
For me is sad because I love the look of anthropomorphic animals, they are fun to watch, they make great characters in tv shows, comics and movies, they are charismatic and in general is an art style with a lot of personality… But seeing people in fursuits creeps me out SO MUCH, it has happened all my life in general with mascots and disneyworld characters, they uses to make me cry as a kid… I don’t know what is it, maybe is the fact of knowing there’s a grown up person hiding behind a happy mask and I can’t see their face, or the fact that they are always acting so cheerful but underneath they might be serious… I don’t know, might be a phobia, and maybe if I didn’t feel that way, I’d even be a furry myself

I want to become a furry
I am a Zookeeper in Atlanta and I regularly feed the Hippos day old Sausages so they have a taste of their home. I put strings on the sausages and swing them around the Hippos they get so Mad at me and Scream but it's an obsession sometimes the hippos try and Break out of their Cages but I keep swinging those hotdogs in Wide Circles over their heads. Luckily my Boss doesn't know I do this or my Coworkers haha 😆 😎

People suit in Phoenix year round. It's about endurance, knowing your limits, fans/cooling vests and drinking enough water.
I always wondered why they have Anthrocon in July in Pittsburgh. I was going to go watch the fursuit parade this year, but it was too hot for me just to watch.

Dallas is VERY hot, but I live in Oklahoma. Its a short drive to Dallas, and its SOOOOO hot when I go there to target, even during the winter. But older furs and greymuzzles can handle it much better than younger furs.
Not really a furry but I would like to try it, I already wear cat ears, a tail and wear cat makeup casually when I go out or sometimes to school and mostly everyone in town knows me as "kitty" I didn't pick that name but people call me that

Though you are forgetting that, that it's only a small portion of the community, every fandom or community has a bad side to it even if what they based around is harmless
Example 1: The Undertale Community:
Undertale is a great game with a good story, good characters, and amazing music
Though of course, like most things on the internet it got ruined by the internet, people simping over sans, the 1M+ AUs known to man kind, though, the game is great and besides everything the fandom is still good.
Example 2: The Animation/Art Community:
These things seems harmless at first, making animations to some songs, art, but then, out of no where, there's drama, take some of these examples (that you can do your own research on):
• The Flicker Drama
• The Squizzy Drama
• The Foxi Boxi Drama
And I'd like to mention that I, myself am a furry and not a zoophile. Zoophiles in the furry fandom are seen as disgusting creatures that need to go back to the dark pits of hell where they came from, yes they are hated.

why do furries love that very distinct cartoon style of animals? its noticeable deviated from traditional anthropomorphic western animations that it clearly takes inspiration from.
some furries prefer a toony cartoon style for their suits! ^^ however there’s lots of people who like realistic style suits! both are super cool :)

@@interrobangings i suppose my actual question is how did it come about? its a very specific look like as if one person designed these characters and the community just stuck with that one design as representative of them. i was just curious if it came from anyone specific.

Listen, I'm not a furry and it'd be easy to judge, however it starts with a base level of anonymity. That allows people to co e to their own conclusions bc they can't put a human face to an outfit. So it's also a DISGUISE. Like u can't wear hats and bandanas over ur face at the bank. That's the only way at all that the whole thing has an element of sneaking. 2 underage ppl in furryies is what? But an adult and a minor seems like a highly likely use of those FANDOM suits. aside from those what if " worst case senarios"/ it's an artistic expression, it's perfectly safe, consensual, and growing as a community so everyone can play. It does have a harmless side to it especially. By comparison
