also if you use the TEST design you enter a survival mode against growing waves of planes trying to attack you
you can swap between survival against planes and ship so to keep a balanced design maybe

@@Stealth17Gaming noyou can't spawn ship too sadly but you can select different modes for different encouters
also, check the Module view, it's very useful for elevators lenght and AI guns

I think the enemy AI wasn't adjusting to the sinking of the ship lowering the overall height of the guns thus causing all the shells to land short because it is aiming at your waterline. That's my theory anyway.
No, the ai just miss most of the time normally. I know this because I play the game.
The fact that you survived against Ise is mad.
I googled Ise's armement she's packing 6 twin 14" guns and 20 single 140mm casemate guns. Which I think are the same guns as what the Kuma class cruisers are packing.
There's also torpedo tubes and some other guns but who cares. Thats the important stuff.

You know what they say about 25 hit points? That's 24 more hitpoints than nessessarily needed. I'm amazed how well the Ise battle Went :D

Would be really great to showcase some of the workshop ships and see what the community has built, ranging from work of art to head scratching designs.
It may also greatly help in seeing how those ships were built and even take some insight in future builds

I think if I was the captain of that Ise, I would have rage-quit before you sank me. Getting your opponent down to 25hp and then missing EVERY. SINGLE. SHOT. for like 3 minutes straight would be aneurism-inducing.

12:35 Ship may have a rangefinder even up there. In case of Italian ships even several rangefinders.
When building the ship for balancing it, you have ballast blocks that works really well for getting the ship to sit better in the sea, at the same time you can exploit that every large 5mm armor thick block inside your armored hull acts as boyuncy and HP spammer. Therefore you can add more armor and weapons to your ship.
Also when putting weapons in the ship, when you select the weapon it appears an option to set the elevator height.
After you fire, in the sight view you might have 2 reload counters: the one between parenthesis (6.83) shows the longer reloads meanwhile the one without the parenthesis 5.27 shows the one thats is closest to be loaded.
I really enjoy this type of gameplay you are doing and i hope the tips that we provide you can help improving your experience since last time you play it 2 years ago.

For the hull building aspect, it might actually be better to not put a lot of height on the "Dynamic Hull" blocks. If you reduce the height, you can keep that curve below the waterline for hydro-dynamics, but actually armour the parts above the water, which are more likely to take the shells.
Just a suggestion.

You can press X while looking at a ship to lock on to it. It should enable torpedo prediction IIRC.
You can make secondary/automatic guns by opening the module screen (F3) and switching any guns to automatic instead of manual. By locking onto an enemy ship, the guns will aim and fire automatically.
Press O to see module damage

12:30 - why would a ship not have a rangefinder there? Primary rangefinders would usually be mounted as high as possible to get better viewing distances. The ones that can be found on or near turrets are usually for backup.
She should be called the “HMS Blocky” and you should maybe spend a little time sculpting the hull a bit better, but it doesn’t seem to affect the handling or stability characteristics so maybe it doesn’t matter?
Did you mount your radar sideways? Lol looked like the base was mounted sideways and the array was only able to scan vertically instead of horizontally. 😆

I'm still sad about Stormworks. It had its perfect niche that no other games covered - coastguard/SAR. Then it decided it wanted to be everything: From the Depths, Space engineers, even some industry. Such a waste :(

i just startes playing NavalArt like yesterday. what is a good detailing amount for ones new to a more advanced shipbuilding system like NavalArt? is it normal to be able to do a 600 part Super Battleship with tons of details as my first project? because i did....
well ok i have to admit, i do have more experience in building ships in Juno:New Origins and Simple Planes before i went to NavalArt..
Hey stealth! Love your content. I suggest you to practice a bit with the editor, it will make building things much easier!
For example, enable settings and build tool to get more precise (down to the mm, if you type in the numbers) shapes. Use default key bindings such as M to mirror objects on the Y axis or MMB to copy objects. You can edit the height of the shell elevator and set automated AI targeting.
