Curious to know why product designers have to make these things looks so tacky? At least the Levoit is simple and clean looking that can blend into home decor much better than that cheesy blue plastic.

I totally agree. A humidifier is a must for me but it's the hardest thing to look good in my space. It sticks out like a sore thumb in my interior design

Thank you!! We currently have the one on Amazon which is why I am here. It is quiet but makes a loud gurgle when it sucks more water down in every 30 minutes or so. It is loud enough to wake me up at night. I am going to try a few of these other ones.

Honeywell HUL585 has a float inside of it that stops that from happening. I've owned four other humidifiers, and this is the only one I've ever had that doesn't do it.

Just so everyone is aware, cool mist aka Sonic humidifiers basically pulverise liquids turning them in to specs of dust, which then form layers of a white film on every surface, including you, your pets, and everything else's. Also, dust, even in poof water form isn't exactly healthy. So never ever buy a sonic or cool mist humidifier. Evaportive humidifiers are "OK". But the filters can quickly gunk up and become stinky, and replacements are often expensive. But no sonic dust at least.... Warm mist humidifiers are the only ones anyone should consider buying. No dust, no filters, basic mantaince, inexpensive, works quickly and effectively. The only downside is that the water containers depleat themselves rather quickly, thus needing refills often.

@@antighoul3289 Welcome.....Also, unless you're willing to buy distilled water constantly, or can rig up an easy water distiller at home, only then can you use a mist humidifier without all the film. But that's just extra money you shouldn't have to spend. Warm mist ones also add a little heat to the room it's in as well.

I wonder why they make the tanks colored. Could it be so you don't notice the mold/bacteria/whatever that builds up in the tank and tube?
