I like how there's all this backlash for this movie not doing well, but anyone who actually sees the movie has almost nothing but good things to say about it
Allow me to share my criticism then: I personally thought the movie was a bit rushed it really felt like things shorta just happened and it's bec we are spanning like 19 years throughout the movie I would have liked to see more of the bullet farm or Gastown etc I think the movie should have actually been longer like 3 hours or just be turned into a limited series I genuinely would have watched chapter if it was it's own 2 hour movie

THIS is revenge film done right. Most Hollywood films misunderstand that for vengeance to be satisfying it must be about the kill. She literally turned the root of her sadness into a fruitful tree.
I like how Dementus is a mirror of Immortan Joe. Dementus is chaos and conquest, Joe is order and tyranny. Dementus is obsessed with seeking sensation and living in the moment. Joe is obsessed with leaving behind a legacy. Dementus mirrors Max too. They both lost their families. Max became a lone road warrior, Dementus became a charismatic cult leader. Also, Furiosa tattooing the map to her home on the arm she eventually loses was a great idea. And she sacrifices her arm when Jack is killed. She's losing the person she cares about and she has to give up her way home.
There was a moment between 2 War Boys that I liked. During the first truck chase 2 War Boys are burned by a flamethrower. Just before they die the one boy crawls to his buddy, sprays the silver in both their mouths, they hug, pull a rope launching them in the air, sacrificing themselves and taking out a couple of parachute guys.

But I love the theory that's it's them really just huffing silver spray paint that Joe said was something more.
Finally saw "Furiousa" today. It was an afternoon showing, and I was literally alone in the theater. This is sad. I'd read and heard reviews that said the movie was a bit long and sometimes slow. Well, world building takes time, and I found it fascinating and definitely worth my time and money.

Whatever is said about Furiosa, whatever narratives about "Girlbossing" too much or being the end of George Miller or another stake in the chips that is "The end of movie theaters" when it possibly underperforms, I am very appreciative that it exist, still is just as insane as ever, and giving us the thrill of seeing Chris Helmsworth just yuck it up as the big baddie. Worth every penny in my book. WB may have it's plentiful issues, but many props to giving us two solid desert based epics in one year.
Really appreciated all the work put into this video. You tied in a lot of really interesting connections to the older films, to the Mad Max game, behind the scenes info and even the comics!

The old lady in the film was a maggot farmer and thought Furiosa was dying, hence her saying she’ll “make it nice” for her. She’s meaning she’ll make her passing as gentle as possible.

I blame the exorbitant ticket prices. I was the only one in my friend group that watched this movie in the theater. And even though I told them it's worth their money, they just said they'll wait for it to come out of the streaming services 😢
Clarification: Max didn’t help Furious gwt out of the desert. The Old Wretch Woman dragged her into the warrens beneath the Citadel, aka The Maggot Farm, thinking her a corpse. When she tries to get Furiosa to stay with her, it isn’t out of a benevolent sense of chatity, but a delusion: she thinks Furious is dead, and want her to stay dead so she can be at peace- and provide the maggots she and the other Wretched eat a place to feed.
I think I read on a wiki that Furiosa became one of the wives and only after she was proven to be barren then she got to do other stuff that lead to eventually driving the war rig. I can see the movie decided not to touch on that at all. She had rapport and sympathy with the wives as she was from the green place of the many mothers anyway without having to bond with them over their shared misery.
I saw this Fri and freaking loved it !!! I feel like these films are the story of Adam and Eve after the apocalypse. That's why they're all so different. It's the visual oral history of their myth. There's a kernel of truth in the myth.
Furiosa was an amazing movie and I feel like the young furiosa actress should be nominated. She deserves some sort of award for what she did with the character.

I didn’t share your enthusiasm for this one but your breakdown gets me interested to go back and watch them all so that I can appreciate Furiosa more. The stunts just didn’t feel as grounded as the last installment and that was a disappointment to me. And imho it was 25 min too long. Maybe I’ll give it another shot though 👍
I loved furiosa!!! Amazing film equal to fury road. They are very different types of film though where fury road is essentially a chase film with charqcter develolment...furiosa is a chaptered saga and world building epic.
As a villain dementis was 10 times better than immortin Joe I mean he might seem like he's incompetent but in reality he took over gastown and the ammo farm as well which then he would have had mostly all the resources to take out citadel.. even outside of that one crew defecting from them he had enough resources in men to be an actual threat.. also don't put it past him that he didn't set up that group to make it seem like he couldn't hold things together

Furiosa is very good, as a movie and as a prequel. The WB videogame adaptation, which is excellent by the way, fits perfectly between the two movies, I don't know about the comics, but this is how you do a multimedia franchise.

Isn't it odd that Immortan didn't went crazy looking for the disappeared Little D? I also thought the Teddy Bear would provoke something to Dementus, or he would say something about it. Although I liked the movie, the environment and pace didn't feel as Fury Road's. And some scenes were clearly soundstaged, which took me out momentarily. So, to me, it didn't reach the same level.
The maggot woman was not treating her , she thought she was dead and was growing maggots on her for food , like tge tons of body parts in the background

Although I liked the movie, the environment and pace didn't feel as Fury Road's. And some scenes were clearly soundstaged, which took me out momentarily.
So, to me, it didn't reach the same level.
The movie was really good, I had many laughs while watching it. It also looks gorgeous.
