Miller stated in a interview, when he saw the road warrior as a finished project, he was paying close attention to the Warrior chick, and stated for the first time it hit him, she could make a very important companion. He realized during his story making and directing, he missed a opportunity to place this character in Max's life sort of speak. This was how Furiosa came about. And he thought of putting the two together. If you take notice, the two in Fury Road, you can see they have interest in each other, but also attempt to ignore that. According to Miller, he is looking at tying the two together, and thought it was important that her story be told also, before continuing, which is why this movie was made. That is what he stated, of course, what he says is on thing, what he will do maybe another. He never made that part clear. he was focused on Fury road and making a connection to pair Max up with her so she is not jumping out of no where with skills and fight for nothing.
I just watched this movie with my Mom. She just loved Dementus! ^^ She said he was wild, ironic and totally unpredictable. Hemsworth was such a treat in this role!
Really felt like this would've been even better as a miniseries where you see the 40 day war play out. While I do actually like how they made the climatic stakes "small" and personal at the end, turning it into a straight revenge trek (which makes it remind me the most of the first Max Max actually), it would've also been cool if we ALSO got the huge climatic big war scenes before that. Granted, that would turn the movie incredibly long (and also expensive I understand) but that's why I say, it would've been awesome as some 6-8 episode miniseries.
Furiosa was written before fury road. That's why it is more deep and telling. The story has practically been waiting for Fury Road to be done before filming furiosa.
How was Fury Road the better movie? I have no idea why people are so obsessed with that movie. It was obnoxious, had shitty special effects, no deep plot, so many things went unexplained, there were nonsensical things in the movie like the war boys and the spraying themselves with spray paint before sacrificing themselves, and the night scenes looked corny as hell. They weren't even filmed at night. They filmed it in the daytime and literally just put a filter on the footage and made it blue.

I went in having no expectations and just recently just even finding out about the movie and I was very very impressed. Great movie and they did a great job introducing you to the origins and early life of a lot of of characters. Awesome movie.. Oh and its 1979.
the costume detail was amazing and the weapons and vehicle designs were really cool i hope MAD MAX 3 focuses on the extras and smaller characters i find it really interesting

So can I say this movie was meh on so many levels without hurting anyones feelings? Then again who asked for this? Charlize was very good as well as Hardy who was incredible. Anya sure wasn't able to fill Theron's shoes. Watched MMAX a few days ago and it was incredible.
Such a disapointment of a movie... No villain, no plot, no Furiosa origin... It was better not to do it until everything was ready and had actually something to tell.
