Yes sir, going with the black was a good choice. If the wood was darker, then I'd like the copper! Another great idea my friend! This would easily be customizable. Many ways to put our spin on it! Thanks Daniel, please keep 'em coming!

Until your last two episodes, I would never have thought of using dowels as standoffs like this. I may have to incorporate this technique in a future project.

I’m digging the black too my brother ! And the appreciation is sent right back to you for being such an inspiration on taking the craft and running with it
A tip to you and the viewers, buy a cheap harbor freight movers blanket. Use it to cover your table saw when painting, staining, glueing. Keep rocking brother
Another great build Daniel. Suggestion. Suggestion: Cut the Top to be an extra 1/8" to 1/4" long, then cut the dado leaving the extra on the end as a support for the piece, then cut that extra off after the dado cuts are made. Also a tool tip: For dowel alignment, there are dowel marking pins that can fit into your dowel holes which will allow for an accurate transfer of hole patterns with just a push into the material you want to transfer your marks onto. It's so much more accurate than a Sharpee, as it gives you a marked pin point like that of a center-punch or awl. I got mine from Harbor Freight with my dowel jig, which is horrible and I don't use it, however the marking pins made the purchase worth it in the long run. I think they sell the pins in a kit with just dowels and drill bits now too, but I can't say for sure. Either way, it's a cheap and very accurate way to do dowel alignment.
Aware of the dowel marking pins , however , don’t have any , thanks for the tip on dado , I’ll have to look into the marking pin , my sharpie method worked pretty damn good . 😉
Daniel: Love your shirt ! It goes to the point of what we need and not mention political beliefs or parties. I'm sure we both know talking politics and religion causes issues. I definitely need to get out in the shed and knock out a few projects. As a beginner watching teacher's like you and Matthew Peach are a plus !
Really dig the T shirt. Both colors are great with the latest build but leave it black just to switch things up a bit... Looking forward to the next video!
I think the right tool to make the notch, if you have one, is a band saw. Also, I would use a magnetic strip instead of individual magnets, so you don't have to go hunting for the location to hang your keys.

Do you need the spacers? For me, a very very beginner woodworker, I think would l prefer them flush together. I love your videos!! You are a good teacher!
I like both the copper and the black metal but my concern would be someone scratching themselves on the metal/copper hanging down below the body of the shelf. Great project. Thank you for the video.
@@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorks Ah, good thinking. I don't know if would've thought of that until after someone was bleeding. Thanks for the reply. Now, let's go make some sawdust.
I like the black metal better, but I'm also a old retired commercial electrician and to the point I'm tired of copper anything so I might be biased. I also still think I'd go with bar magnets over the small round ones. But that too is a personal choice.
Hi Daniel!! First off, I'm glad you shut that hater down. You're totally right. He doesn't have to watch your videos. Nobody is holding a gun to his head. I was working on building the first key hangar and I know that you have said in both videos, that Rare Earth Magnets are safe. I wanted to ask if you know if Rare Earth magnets and Neodymium magnets are the same thing. I ask because the Neodymium magnets are a good 5x more powerful than the Rare Earth. That's only what I have been told, so that's why I am asking. Can we use the Neodymium magnets instead? Hey, fellow Viking. Keep doing your shit and making those big ass profits!!
I would say you should be fine , however with that being said just verify that with whichever manufacturer you decide to use , that way you’re certain , I stick with the rare earth though , thanks so much for the feedback skäl 🫡
Newer woodworker here: is there a purpose in using the large chisel to smooth away the dado marks instead of a plane or sanding? Strictly personal preference and showing some love for a favorite tool? You’re an inspiration and please keep up the great work. I love the motivational intros!
When it comes to local sales, where in the country are you located. I'm in the midwest (Missouri to be specific). Are you on the coast or inland? I believe one of your videos said you were in the south somewhere. Anyway I'm trying to compare or come up with local prices. I've lived on the coast and everything is more expensive. Where have you sold your projects most? Locally or all over? How do you market locally? Do you go to craft fairs or shows etc. ? Any info would be helpful. Thanks and keep up the good work.
I do craft shows and local farmers market . Which one makes sales tends to depend on the season for local sales or online sales . Gotta kind of gauge your area but online the options are limitless ,
