Justin, my first visit to BBW. Very impressed with your calm, easy to follow descriptions. Your commentary and critiques provided guidance that was easily digested. I’ll be back…
Justin, my only surprise is that you don’t have 100k viewers already! Your presentation is second to none, concise, clearly spoken and always good content! The video quality is as good, if not better, than I have seen any where else on UA-cam! I for one hope you will continue to for many years to come! Keep up the good work! Len (Devon 🇬🇧)
Ditto! Just watched and subscribed. Love that you don’t go on and on about yourself and other repetitive stuff. YOU PREPARE. AND companies like woodPECKERS charge ridiculous amounts for their products. I couldn’t comprehend why it should cost so much, now I know it doesn’t have to, and I can afford some gadgets that would be helpful without feeling ripped off and angry. Thank you very much. Woodworking is expensive enough.
Thanks! Yea I personally “can” afford all the big expensive stuff but honestly you feel that you have to treat them carefully since you spent so much, there are lots of good reasonable options out there!
Video quality and sound is great. I did enjoy your comments on the tools that you were showing. For the most part they were decent quality and helpful in the shop. Not all tools have to be expensive, good job showing us the tools of the trade.
Justin - video quality is very good. Combined with great lighting, it sets a great contrast in your shop. BTW - I like the Going Make brand of tools. A lot of bang for the buck!
Oh, thanks very much. Good to hear! Yeah, I wasn’t familiar with them before and I was hesitant about showing that many tools of theirs in this video because they were provided but honestly you can’t go wrong with milled aluminum stuff. I like their tools as well and some good creative additions to their designs others dont have
Fantastic video quality. As a beginner woodworker, the inexpensive tools will be purchased for "learning." It's always good when someone else does the footwork for ya. I will be going to Going Makes for some of these. Thanks
This is a great video. The picture quality is far better than most and everything is easy to see due to the positioning of the camera. I found the content was very interesting, even though I wouldn’t use many of the tools reviewed. But I did watch it to the end because the presentation was done so well and its an interesting topic - things to look out for when buying such tools And thank you for not using music or trying to be a comedian. 10 out of 10 for this one. It’s only the second one that I have subscribed to though I’ve watched hundreds.
Thanks for the tool overview. I'm glad you included some duds. It's useful info when browsing junk, but also makes it clear that you're being thoughtful. Suggestion: on your amazon page have a list of your video stuff: mic, camera, tripod, lights, etc. Thanks as always.
This is the first video I watched from your channel. when youtube fed me your video, I immediately noticed how bright and smooth the video is. 60fps is great. content was excellent and I like your soft mellow style. good job!
Video quality is excellent! I bought the Going make concealed hinge jig recently, haven't used it yet, but I was very pleased with the quality of it. Thanks for the excellent tool reviews!
First time viewer, loved the content and your input on the tools. I was a breath of fresh air not having someone shove expensive tools down our throats. Thanks. Oh, the video quality was great.
Oh awesome, welcome Robert! Yea I’m a bit proponent of every tool brand has some winners and losers, it’s fun to fine the winners that don’t break the bank! Thanks for the video quality feedback!
Nicely done. Very nicely done. Helping an SIL with some work. Going to purchase some of these and leave them with them. The balance I'll purchase over time, so as to not overwhelm him and/or her. Thank you very much. Would love to see more if you have time. The quality of the video is top shelf. Thank you for that as well.
Hey man, thanks for taking the time to help us get the right tool at the right price. This is my first time watching your channel, so I don't know what quality video you have before. However, I like the quality of your video, very nice color balance and most important for me at least, great sound. Thank you
I just found your video. Very well done, thank you. When I followed the link to the thin strip jig it went from 28.88 to 39.99. That’s a big jump. The corner bracket clamps also went up in price. I stopped looking after that.
I already have the small 3D square and the countersink that I bought direct from China. I actually use the 3D square quite a bit as it works well to scribe a perpendicular measurement to an edge that I can use to line up on the crosscut or panel sled. The countersink works well and does a nice job making a clean countersink on laminate. It does clog up a little from time to time, but worth the $37 difference from the pro tool. Never had a problem with a snapped bit. Thanks for the other reviews.
Like the new camera quality Justin. Camera 'quality' relies some much on lighting setup and you have nailed both. Also another full tool review video which is awesome. Will definitely see you in the next one. Love your channel mate. kmdc from Oz.
The shelf pin jig can also be used as a drill guide if you need to make 90° holes and you don’t have a drill press or it’s in the middle of the panel. You’re not limited to shelf pins.
Simple solutions to 2 of the tools. First one, the dowel centring jig. Scrap the bearings, they are only complicating the tool, simple friction pegs. Secondly, the 3d square, much like the overlooked scribe on a sliding combination square, the peg could simply thread into a dead space on the tool. Hope this helps. 👍🏼
I really like the new camera setup. Makes for a more professional content. I like your not bashing the not so well priced but well known products. Pretty even handed were your assessments. Thank you for your video.
I really, REALLY hate videos like this. Because they make me want to buy more tools! Seriously, a great video, showcasing how those of us not made of money can get quality tools at a bargain price. Just subscribed, and I'll look forward to more content.
As always a pleasure watching you. The quality of this video is very good, I enjoy watching it on a 100” projector screen, feels almost as being there in your shop 😅
Excellent, thank you. I enjoyed your comment on the plastic hinge tool that “the holes have got bigger because I have used them”. 😂 That is where you slipped up - you used them! The tool would have lasted a lot longer if you hadn’t.
Not the first good review I've heard of GoingMake over the past few months. Definitely going to have to check them out. Thanks for the reviews. I like your no-nonsense, practical approach to these sorts of videos. I don't feel like I'm being sold something, just told about it.
Thanks! I appreciate that. Yeah I’m always conflicted when company send me stuff to then promote it but honestly you can’t go wrong with mild aluminum for tools with durability and precision and a reduced price so I really have nothing but good things to say about that company honestly
Just a suggestion on the self-centering dowel jig: always rotate it the direction the drill spins and you'll have less, or zero, movement. Those tend to move more if you're trying force it against the spin because the bit will grab it some and fight against you, so let the bit help by grabbing it into the same direction (rotate clockwise on the wood).
Nice video quality. I have the three piece ruler set, i agree they very good/useful tools for the shop. I also have the lifts, they are ok. Thank you for sharing. Everyone stay safe, warm, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia.
One day, when I'm grown up, I'll be able to make videos like yours....👴👴 Great lighting, focus , sound quality, not to mention the excellent planning and narratives...👍👍👍
I think the video quality is great. I watch on a 55" computer monitor and you look fine. lol. Another great video, love that cup hinge jig and ordered it. Keep up the great work. Thanks for all your research and information. All the best...
Awesome good to know! Yeah, that really is a nice one, when I took it out of the box I was like yes! The built-in clamp is going to keep me from being lazy lol
I've had my eyes set on the Hongdui / Hooked on Wood T-square. That thing looks amazing. Not exacly a "cheap" tool at $150.......but not exorbitantly prices either.
only one quick note, on the self-centering dowel jig (at least in my experience) it helps to use a center punch, marking knife, etc. to give yourself a dimple to reduce wandering. otherwise great video, definitely subscribing 👌
I am a tool nut and have over $50000.00 I my tool box plus my tool box was over $8000. And you have as great a video honestly giving great opinions. When you make you living . Then it best to use best you can get even as you showed . Price is not always the best but common sense that some people need to look at before buying
camera video quality looks great. sound was great as well, didnt feel like anything weird stood out in the entire video leading up to your comment so id say great job and dont touch a thing.
Hi Justin first time viewer. very impressed with your video picture is crop and clear,I will be a regular viewer from now on as I tho enjoyed the content. Best wishes. Ed
Great video Justin I have purchased one goingmakes tee square and it’s a great tool and going to buy the thin Rip jig next they are some great tools glad to hear your opinion on them. As a new woodworker can afford them other Red tools. The video quality looks great and the sound was great too.
Justin, thanks a lot for good tools review and suggestions. Helpful as usual. About video quality and equipment... Well, not so good quality, but that's not because of bad equipment, but most probably not configured well. For instance, was a little blurry then it was as usual. Play with different configs. Unfortunately don't know which equipment you purchased, so no specific suggestions.
Thanks for the feedback yea I went from a iPhone which will have everything all in focus to a lens that’s going to give some depth and boca behind me, not sure if that’s the right decision but going to play with it a lot 😃
Video quality great, comments, very useful. Only just been offered your site, and considering signing up. now looking at your back video's, which should clinch the deal. Brian in the UK
The FINICEL ruler has a feature that you did not mention. The slide can be mounted through the rectangular hole at 90 degrees to keep the rule standing on its side. That makes the graduations on the end of the ruler easier to use.
For your doweling Jig, what if you tried to put a rubber pad/ gasket on the wood side of the jig. That might add a better grip/ non-skid while you are pressing down and drilling. love the video, thanks.
Great video. Always looking for good knock offs. I think you erred on the dowel rod jig. Once you put the clamp on it you can no longer drill your hole because the clamp is in the way. I wonder if a different style clamp would work? If not, this jig is useless. Keep your content coming. I like your style. The video quality was excellent!!
Another great video. To be honest, at my age and health, as long as it is focused I really don't notice the difference between high and low quality cameras. I would like to see more reviews on Goingmake tools. There's a lot of buzz about them and their prices.
Thanks! Sure thing 👍 what I like about them is they aren’t just doing the cheap copycat thing, they are producing a durable product with unique features.
Great video review (with really good video picture quality)~! ;-) I've been a frequent-flyer buyer from "big red" and I'll definitely be picking up some of the GoingMake products. I'm also a fan of the big blue label, but I like that European hinge jig. Since I don't own one yet, I'll be going for the one you showed. Thanks for this one~!
Oh awesome thank you! Yes that hinge jig is very nice, that company is making a good converted effort to make durable cheaper items but also innovate on the designs so I think they will be a player going forward
Video looks excellent! As a gaffer I would say I would love to see a side light somewhere on your left side to help differentiate you from your background-there’s a lot of tan in your shot! Very well lit, just a suggestion ☺️ Great content, great upgrade! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Oh awesome thank you very much for the feedback, I have 6 ceiling mounted soft boxes around the shop to light the different work station shots, I can definitely rotate one on the left over to cover the left as well 👍 appreciate it!
Maybe you mentioned it before, but my old feeble memory cells don’t allow me to recall that you own a XMAS lights company. I sort of recently got into xlights a few years back. Great fun. With regards to the video quality, I honestly can’t say since I generally watch about 85% of YT videos on my phone , but it does seem more vibrant to me
22:53 When you mentioned the rollers earlier I was thinking that didn't seem like a good idea. Maybe fixed pegs with a rubber or sandpaper sleeve might be a better idea.
I definitely agree that the rollers are probably unnecessary and just make it harder to hold down well. I think most of the time you’re gonna be able to use clamp of some sort but good idea with the sandpaper!
Justin, my first visit to BBW. Very impressed with your calm, easy to follow descriptions. Your commentary and critiques provided guidance that was easily digested. I’ll be back…
oh that's great to hear thanks mark!
Seconded!

Wow thank you Devon! Very kind of you! ✌️🇬🇧
Liked and subscribed. Found your presentation relaxed and refreshing to watch. For some reason no comments box, so jumped on here. 👍
Yo
Ditto!
Just watched and subscribed. Love that you don’t go on and on about yourself and other repetitive stuff. YOU PREPARE. AND companies like woodPECKERS charge ridiculous amounts for their products. Video was/is fantastic. I love the way you explain quality, price, and functionality. Glad I found your videos
Oh wow, thanks so much!
Video quality and sound is great. I did enjoy your comments on the tools that you were showing. For the most part they were decent quality and helpful in the shop. Not all tools have to be expensive, good job showing us the tools of the trade.
Oh great thanks so much!
Great reviews, straight forward, no nonsense ,not holding back to good , bad, or "ugly " and in-between.
(from the uk)
Thanks!
My 1st viewing & you are explaining things very well !
Oh thanks so much!
Excellent job! The way you presented, the tone of voice, and the details, makes your opinion very valuable.
Thank you kindly!
Justin, perhaps a centre punch mark with the centre finding dowel jiggle would lessen the possibility of the drill bit skipping and moving the jig.
Great idea!
I am a 1st time viewer and am very impressed with the content. Thank you Justin
oh thanks so much Bruce! appreciate it!
Video looked good to me. Your reviews are excellent and as a result you are my go to source for guidance on tools I think I need. Thanks
Oh wow thank you so much! Always try and give some good honest feedback
Video quality is brighter and clear than previous videos.
Ah cool good to know thanks!
At what resolution are you watching, because the 480p and below is a bit grainy and lagging, that could be because of youtube's transcoding though!
Justin - video quality is very good. Combined with great lighting, it sets a great contrast in your shop. BTW - I like the Going Make brand of tools. A lot of bang for the buck!

Wow thanks so much for the kind feedback!
Thanks for the tool overview. I'm glad you included some duds. It's useful info when browsing junk, but also makes it clear that you're being thoughtful. Suggestion: on your amazon page have a list of your video stuff: mic, camera, tripod, lights, etc. Thanks as always.
Thanks! Yea I’m not a rubber stamp guy, even good tool companies have some duds!
This is the first video I watched from your channel. when youtube fed me your video, I immediately noticed how bright and smooth the video is. 60fps is great. content was excellent and I like your soft mellow style. good job!
Oh awesome great to hear! Thanks so much!
Video quality is excellent! I bought the Going make concealed hinge jig recently, haven't used it yet, but I was very pleased with the quality of it. Thanks for the excellent tool reviews!
Thanks and good to hear the same on the quality of the jig!
Thanks for the concise commentary of tools us DYI or hobbiest can use. I am starting to purchase Going Make and enjoyed them as well.
Glad you like them!
Video quality is excellent. Content even better! I am ordering several items that you reviewed. Very helpful, thanks 👍
Oh thanks very much!

Thanks very much!
Loved the video. Only one tool caught my attention...the corner clamp. Many times I could have used the ledge feature.
Yea the extra hand that gives you is 👍
Hey man, thanks for taking the time to help us get the right tool at the right price. This is my first time watching your channel, so I don't know what quality video you have before. However, I like the quality of your video, very nice color balance and most important for me at least, great sound. Thank you
Thanks, appreciate it!
Thanks for the heads up on good deals. The video quality looks great.
No problem 👍
I just found your video. Very well done, thank you. When I followed the link to the thin strip jig it went from 28.88 to 39.99. That’s a big jump. The corner bracket clamps also went up in price. I stopped looking after that.
Thanks - yea all prices are when a videos made so it might change over time

First time viewer so can say that vid quality was great. I appreciate the attention to safety issues.
Oh great thank you!
Like the new camera quality Justin. Camera 'quality' relies some much on lighting setup and you have nailed both. Also another full tool review video which is awesome. Will definitely see you in the next one. Love your channel mate. kmdc from Oz.
✌️thanks! Yea I have soft boxes hanging everywhere from the ceiling 😂
Great presentation, very informative & detailed to the pros & cons of each item! Excellent, well done!
Thank you kindly!
The shelf pin jig can also be used as a drill guide if you need to make 90° holes and you don’t have a drill press or it’s in the middle of the panel. You’re not limited to shelf pins.
Great tip!
video, lighting and sound were very good. the selection of cheap tools is also very good, several were interesting to me.
Oh that’s good to hear and thanks for the video feedback!
Thanks Mike yea I said the same to them on the square, needs a home (but one out of the way!)
Video quality is great, no worries there!
I like those goingmake corner clamps and the concealed hinge jig. Adding those to the arsenal.
Thanks! Yea they are some nice kit!
I really like the new camera setup. Makes for a more professional content. I like your not bashing the not so well priced but well known products. Pretty even handed were your assessments. Thank you for your video.
Thanks so much!
Your video quality was already amazing but yes it is even better now. Thank you for everything you do!
Thanks so much!
Thanks for the tool review, certainly very helpful. Your new camera equipment quality looks really great.
Oh thanks so much!
I really, REALLY hate videos like this. Because they make me want to buy more tools! Seriously, a great video, showcasing how those of us not made of money can get quality tools at a bargain price. Just subscribed, and I'll look forward to more content.
Haha my apologies to your wallet! Yea I’m a firm believer that there are great tools at all price points just need to find them!
Excellent lighting and video quality. Sound is natural. Good job on reviews.
Much appreciated!
Everything is very good…video, sound, lighting and content. Thanks so much!
Oh awesome thanks so much!
As always a pleasure watching you. The quality of this video is very good, I enjoy watching it on a 100” projector screen, feels almost as being there in your shop 😅
lol oh wow think I need to loose a few pounds before being on the big screen 😂
Excellent, thank you. I enjoyed your comment on the plastic hinge tool that “the holes have got bigger because I have used them”. 😂 That is where you slipped up - you used them! The tool would have lasted a lot longer if you hadn’t.
😂 I know right how dare I use the tool lol. Glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant channel and top notch quality! Look forward to more of your stuff. Cheers 🇬🇧
Thanks Brian!
No accounting for taste. Justin, keep up the great vids!!! The numbers will come.
✌️✌️
Great video enjoyed seeing the practical applications of many tools I never knew existed. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
I usually watch UA-cam on my phone so I've never had a complaint with video quality, it still looks good.
✌️
Not the first good review I've heard of GoingMake over the past few months. Definitely going to have to check them out.
Thanks for the reviews. I like your no-nonsense, practical approach to these sorts of videos. I don't feel like I'm being sold something, just told about it.
Thanks! I appreciate that. Yeah I’m always conflicted when company send me stuff to then promote it but honestly you can’t go wrong with mild aluminum for tools with durability and precision and a reduced price so I really have nothing but good things to say about that company honestly
Video quality great. Very clear, colours awesome and sharp. 5hanks for showing the tools and giving a honest review.
Oh cool thank you!
Great tip!
Very enjoyable video and I learned several things from it. I like your delivery and pacing. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Video quality is very good; the tool selection was excellent.
Awesome thank you!
Excellent video - concise but very informative. Added to my subscriptions list.
Awesome thanks so much!
Nice video quality. I have the three piece ruler set, i agree they very good/useful tools for the shop. I also have the lifts, they are ok. Thank you for sharing. Everyone stay safe, warm, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia.
Oh awesome thanks very much!
One day, when I'm grown up, I'll be able to make videos like yours....👴👴 Great lighting, focus , sound quality, not to mention the excellent planning and narratives...👍👍👍
Haha well thank you very much, very kind!
Lighting is awesome, audio is great, really nice video and enjoyed the content. Thanks Justin!
Oh sweet thank you very much!
Enjoyed your video, quality of video (resolution) is sharp, well light, sound quality is excellent.
Glad to hear it! Thank you!
I've had my eyes set on the Hongdui / Hooked on Wood T-square. That thing looks amazing. Not exacly a "cheap" tool at $150.......but not exorbitantly prices either.
good to know! (but yea ooo pricey)
Another awesome blog... Thx!
The picture is really crisp! 🎉 Audio is also great...
Have a great day... Waiting for the next one 😊
Awesome thanks!
First time watching, great picture quality and fantastic tool review.
Oh awesome thanks so much!
FYI, using a brad point bit would keep your dowel centering drill jig from moving when drilling your holes.
👍
only one quick note, on the self-centering dowel jig (at least in my experience) it helps to use a center punch, marking knife, etc. to give yourself a dimple to reduce wandering. otherwise great video, definitely subscribing 👌
Great tip 👍
Excellent sound and video quality. Also good information. I'm a fan!!!
Awesome, thanks so much
Video and audio quality is excellent. I think you didn't go long enough. Looking forward to the sequel.
Haha thanks!
I am a tool nut and have over $50000.00 I my tool box plus my tool box was over $8000. And you have as great a video honestly giving great opinions. When you make you living . Perhaps, you can post your home address along with this novel 😢
camera video quality looks great. sound was great as well, didnt feel like anything weird stood out in the entire video leading up to your comment so id say great job and dont touch a thing.
Awesome thank you!
Hi Justin first time viewer. very impressed with your video picture is crop and clear,I will be a regular viewer from now on as I tho enjoyed the content.
Best wishes.
Ed
Sorry Crisp and clear Ed
Wow thanks Ed, appreciate it!
Really great video, first time I’ve seen this in the UK.
Oh awesome thank you! Always appreciate my views from over the pond so I do all my build videos in metric and imperial 😃✌️🇬🇧
Great tool review! Video and sound quality is great!
Glad you think so!
I love my going make thin rip jig. You can even use it in T tracks.
Yea the additional attachments make it versatile!
Great video Justin I have purchased one goingmakes tee square and it’s a great tool and going to buy the thin Rip jig next they are some great tools glad to hear your opinion on them. As a new woodworker can afford them other Red tools. The video quality looks great and the sound was great too.
Thanks Jim, glad to hear you like it as well, honestly putting them next to my reds (I have a few) there’s no difference
Camera, personality & presentation are great
Wow thank you very much!
Excellent picture, good reviews. Thank you, Justin!
Awesome thanks!
Camera looks good, sound is great too. Keep up the great work, and thank you for the effort!
Oh awesome thanks!
Thanks for the tool review. The video quality was great!
Oh awesome thank you!
Justin, thanks a lot for good tools review and suggestions. Helpful as usual. About video quality and equipment... Well, not so good quality, but that's not because of bad equipment, but most probably not configured well. For instance, was a little blurry then it was as usual. Play with different configs. Video quality great, comments, very useful. Only just been offered your site, and considering signing up. now looking at your back video's, which should clinch the deal. Brian in the UK
Thanks Brian! ✌️
Video seems sharper, also, great content on this one. Will probably pick up a few of the items to try for myself!
Oh cool, thanks so much!
Great picture quality! I appreciate the reviews also.
Thank you!
You video quality is top notch and so are your videos keep up the good work.
Awesome thank you!
The FINICEL ruler has a feature that you did not mention. The slide can be mounted through the rectangular hole at 90 degrees to keep the rule standing on its side. That makes the graduations on the end of the ruler easier to use.
Oh very cool thanks for sharing the tip!
Use a small triangle file on the end of the steel rule on your combo square. This creates a notch for the tip of your pencil.
Good tip!
For your doweling Jig, what if you tried to put a rubber pad/ gasket on the wood side of the jig. That might add a better grip/ non-skid while you are pressing down and drilling. love the video, thanks.
Thanks and good suggestion a few others suggested using a Brad tipped drillbit that has a spike on the front of it, which would help with the wander
Very nice picture!
I also liked the edit when cutting the plywood. No micro jig.... poof micro jig :)
Like you said, a safe cut
lol indeed!
Thanks! Hmm no on the dowel rod jig I clamped it on the side wing and didn’t obscure the metal drill bit collar so works fine (just tried it)
Another great video.
Great video quality, very helpful and informative as always. I am tempted on some of those options? Thanks and stay safe.
Thanks!

That Rip Thin jig is just the thing I need for a project. Ripping thin strips kinda make me nervous! Thanks
Definitely me too lol!
great video quality and great subject. Save your money on tools not frequently used.
Thanks! Definitely
Good job…video quality was excellent.
Thanks!
Maybe you mentioned it before, but my old feeble memory cells don’t allow me to recall that you own a XMAS lights company. I sort of recently got into xlights a few years back. Great fun.
With regards to the video quality, I honestly can’t say since I generally watch about 85% of YT videos on my phone , but it does seem more vibrant to me
Yea that I do, 15 years in now - just about to start the crazy season for me!
Video and audio are excellent very professional
Much appreciated!
First time viewer. Video quality is very good.
Thank you so much 🙂 and welcome!
Very nice video work! Would like if you can make more close up videos of the tools.
Will do. Thanks!
Nice video. Great content! Thanks for the in-depth reviews.
Thanks very much!
Enjoyed your review of these products and I subscribed
Awesome! Thank you!
Video is crisp! Lighting is great also. Maybe play around with some angles or up close clips. Great tool review!
Thanks so much!
