Just started my journey with web dev. got your recommendation about open source , watched 5 of your videos , the amount of unbaised knowledge you provide for free is insane. i have decided to follow your adivce for next 2 year and see how my life transforms.
Thanks for making such a great video about GSOC. After Kunal kushwaha, you are the best. Please make a step-by-step guide for participating in GSOC. I mean, 1) How to register for GSOC as a student contributor? 2) what are the pre-Requisite learnings for participating as a contributor (pre-requisite learning path) ? 3) How to find the relevant organization on the Gsoc website? 4) How can we make a first move with the organization? Please make one dedicated video on the above questions. So, everyone willing to participate in GSOC will have a step-by-step guide through your video. Please see this comment and accept my humble request to make a guidance video on GSOC. Thank you!
I like's your video before watching because your content is beyond 👌 like and comment after watching because what we want next video write there and you putt hard work to make these video , We all appreciate ❤️ your hard works 💪 thank you so much 💓 from bottom my heart ❤️ 💙 💜
Hello sir.. Thank you for your videos on open source contribution. I got to know about open source recently and after that.. past one month I don't know how to contribute.. i was really struggling... I was very confused.. like i know java and data structures. I don't know like How and Where i right code or edit code how it is done.. but your last video with harnoor clear most of my doubt. And today i did my first contribution. Thanks alot and keep making such videos... I am sure there are many like me out there.
For Google summer code you have to go to their official page and find out your preferred organisation and preferred coding, language or project and then find out what is the issue or the feature they have raised and they want to resolve it or add that feature into their application. That thing we need to do
Bhaiya please make a video about how should a beginner start preparing for GSOC ?? What to do just after getting into a collage ? Your Videos are really helpful
I think you should teach us web dev actually, I mean there are a lot of tutorials but learning from you would add a different taste which would make us better problem solvers
Harkirat sir could u please share good resources from where could we learn about web development, as most of the youtube channels out there are just teaching the codes , that we might get from documentation as well, I would be grateful to you if you could suggest some goods hands-on tutorial where logic building will happen rather than just wrote learning....
I was motivated to learn how to make open source contribution but after seeing this video I can feel his struggle in making open source contribution so I am giving up.
just a FYI jitsi meet is not going to be in GSOC`23 so chose some other organisation if you want to make your name in front of the organisation members
Bhaiya I’m new to GSOC and I don’t have brief knowledge about it.. I’m an Android Developer can you suggest some of the good open source projects so that i can show my skills in that domain..
Hii, Thanks for the wonderful tutorial, i wana ask if i fixed some of bugs from this open source repo will i be able to list them in my proposal for another organization or do i have to attach contribution related to there project ??
Bro Jitsi is not going to be part of gsoc this year, i was contributing to their org and asked one of the maintainers to which he said their org is not going to be a part of gsoc this year
Hi, this video is super helpful. I noticed something new at 11:44. I used to fork the repo and clone my forked repo and work on the issue. But you clone the original and forked only after you fixed the issue and somehow branch switched to your forked repo. Can you explain how you did that?
Clone is only for downloading the files. Git remote add orgin2 url will point to his forked repository. He cloned/downloaded the project in his local, vommited the chanes, after fork in github, he connected the local to is fork with remote add ...., Then pushed his changes to his fork. A link will appear in the terminal where you can raise an mr/pr.
Hey, I have a question There are lots of contributor who have contributed to open source so how to find that repository where no contributors have contributed .
