Canopy with side sliders for ventilation. Use 2x4 on edge set into lower bed pocketswith plywood top to keep cold conduction down. Room to slide things underneath plywood. Folding foam mattress and sleeping bag.
I loved this video. It made coverage much simpler for me. I myself have a Tacoma and I’m 5 ft. so I believe it’s enough room for me. Thank you for the idea of the dowel with curtain (seems easier that reflectix all around). I’ll be residing in the truck. Rentals have gotten way too expensive for one person to keep a roof overhead. Thanks again for the video. God Bless🙏🏻🇺🇸
I'm thinking about getting a rental pickup truck (not a van) and sleeping inside of it for a while in order to get to a job and save money for, hopefully, a minivan. What do you think of that idea and do you have any suggestions?
I would recommend you rent a van which would have a lot more room. Unless you are really short, it is difficult to stretch out fully in the back seat of a truck. If you have not already checked out Bob Wells of Cheaprvliving, he has a lot of good videos and ideas for people who have limited budgets.
My trailer is stored in Colorado. I have not towed it yet since I am still breaking in the Tundra and it says not to tow anything until 5,000 miles. Since it's supposed to be able to tow almost 10,000 pounds, it should easily pull my 2,100 pound trailer, even with the wind drag. I am very impressed that I get between 18 and 19 mpg on the highway going 65. In the city the truck only get around 10 mpg, but I don't plan to do much city driving.
@@CadiKane I have an inverter to power my laptop etc. so I have to run it every few hours when I am using the electricity for things. Otherwise, yeah, I go for a drive typically about once a day.
Hotels are awesome. I’m even more convinced after watching this video
Not just to save money, but for me cheap hotels even average hotels are gross dirty and smelly.

I am glad it was helpful. Good luck to you.
You can sew storage pockets in the curtain with the extra fabric.
Great idea. Thanks
I have a truck with a camper shell. I lay four planks and lay a mattress on top to sleep on. I have the underneath for storage
Good idea. I have since also purchased a truck topper and have a sleeping platform.
clamping the curtain-stick is fantastic !
Thanks and I am glad it was helpful.
Nice idea about getting extra 6-7 i by elevating above the side panel w the pillow
Good easy idea with the rod on the sides
Thanks and I am glad you found it helpful.
Good tip about getting extra 6 inches by elevating up above the panel. How do you block out the back (those towards the cargo bed) windows
Good job, great information! 👍🏾
Thank you and I am glad you enjoyed the video.
How long will be if you remove the passenger seat and the rear seat ?
Single cab guys know how real the struggle is 🤣
Single cabs are less expensive, but obviously have less room.
Put a used camper shell in it and sleep like a king. Or even make your own "retractable" one on the cheap

Get a sprinter van - it’s like a small studio.
My man you are a genius
Thanks. It's not very comfortable sleeping in the back seat but saves a lot on a hotel room.
Where is your travel trailer ?? How does the Tundra do towing the trailer ? What is your mileage with and without camper?

I have had the motel give away my prepaid reservation.
Where can you get the reflective stuff
Home Depot or Lowes
Cover the windows and sleep on the back, got it, thanks, very helpful.
If you can stretch your legs all the way is cool. Its hard to sleep in a truck. Its very uncomfortable. Thanks for uploading
It was very difficult to fully stretch out, and I am not very tall. Not comfortable.
Just sleep in the driver's seat, been doing it for years.
Do you let the truck run

Great Idea :)
Hi David,do you still keep your Toyota SUV?
I sold it about two months ago.
The Day-Cab Lounger was designed specifically for resting, relaxing, and napping in any vehicle! Order yours today @ www.daycablounger.com
Looks like a great product. Will it work on standard pickup trucks or is it designed for big rigs?
What about single cab
Having a back seat allows one to store more items. Single cabs are less expensive, but very difficult to resell since few people want them.
You don’t even it back there laying down
Lov it lolol
This guy doesn’t know about tinted windows . Lol
Lol dude you need a glue gun
Single huh?
Waiting on you to hook up solar. Wtf video is this
Lmao……
This video is ridiculous
