When I imagine internal investigations, I just imagine a room full of people laughing hysterically while they shred paper from complaints, day after day, just to never be addressed
Internal Affairs should be an entirely separate department of the city or state IMO. They should only be allowed 5% former police officers and they have to come from separate districts.
In alot places cops won't let people report them to internal investigations. Instead if see u trying to do so they'll make ur life hell in ur town. There's I hours long documentary on it on UA-cam. Where a report tests a bunch of cities and counties to see who are the most corrupt.
