- This unique coach built Bently cost £1.2 Million when new in the '90s from the coach builder Jankel. It is based on the Bently Turbo R and is an estate car known as the Val D'Isere. 11 of these cars (each unique) were produced for the Brunei Royal Family. The car was imported to the UK by @thecarcochelsea. Enjoy!

Looks like an old Granada.
😆
Sweeney!!
Exactly what I thought 😂
Sorry but a Granada is more nice! 😂😮
Thinking about the build quality of early ‘80’s Fords, the Granada is probably rarer these days
Ordered 7000 cars, thsts a full time job in itself.
Dolly Parton - it costs a lot of money to look this cheap
The algorithm brought me here, and what a joy this video is, superb production, and great information, exactly the type of video I seek out.
Excellent video mate. Well done and what a colour combo!
Thank you 🙏
Only a f1 is now worth 25 million, but this Bentley is so beautiful. Love it.
& let’s be real, good luck finding a buyer for this car anywhere near $1m lol You can value a car esp a rare one at any price you like but realising that value is a totally different thing.
If you destroy the other ones then this will be worth 10* more lol
Looks like a Ford Granada estate:) subbed!:)
Haha maybe a bit (or a lot)
It's amazing that these custom builds exist.
One of the nicest done conversion works. I have seen some conversion work that didn't really harmonise with the rest of the body.
They are coach builders after all
Fantastic video my friend
Thank you so much 😁👍
subbed! hope to see more content like this!
The cars in the Brunei's family ARE in private hands.
He meant these ones
Ah well
@@Rich.Aardvark listen to it again. All are privately owned.
Interiors on these cars are incredible. Really pop.
This is soo cool to see
Thanks for watching
Looks awesome!
Great video
Thanks!
Your style , mannerism and way to speak is very similar to Tom Hartley Jr. I think we saw you detaiing this car previously...as you say - Topaz.. Glad to see more in depth
It's a luxury 'pimp my ride.'
Awesome car! Thanks for showing it :) Hope the owner fixed the broken engine bay light and adds the missing covers on the headlight water jet on the front bumper ;)
A shooting break is a two door estate not a four door estate.
A shooting brake is a vehicle to take a gentleman or gentlemen, their guns, and their dogs, shooting. There is no specified door number.
The term may well have been "hijacked" by luxury/prestige manufacturers applying it to coach built estate versions of various sports and GT cars from the 50's and 60's on, but the term was used on various coachbuilt Rolls Royce's, Bentley's and various lesser makes with 4 doors (usually wooden framed) a long time before that (certainly in the 20's). In fact the original shooting brake was a horse drawn carriage.
@@badbusdriver7160 since the late 40s shooting break cars had two long coupe doors not standerd saloon doors and an estate rear end. Mark 1 and 2 escort estate cars were not shooting breaks as they have short doors (example). I think 80 years is a good run for understanding the shooting break concept as an estate car has 4 door and a hatch back. Not just shooting breaks had horses drawn equivalents.
Fire tender, Funeral hearse

A proper (motorised) shooting brake is a working vehicle used by an estate owner and made for a specific purpose. Not unlike the original US station wagon which came about for hunting lodges to pick up their clients from the (railway) station and as such, by necessity (like a shooting brake) they had to have plenty of space. A 1930's Rolls Royce 20/25 shooting brake fits the description and purpose much better than an Aston Martin DB5 shooting brake. The latter may arguably be prettier, but it is more a means for rich playboys to show off their wealth than an actual working vehicle. No idea about your long door fixation as pretty much every 2 door estate has them otherwise access to the rear seats is difficult. Despite what you seem to think, this does include the MK1 and 2 Escort estates as (being 2 door) they had longer doors than the 4 door saloon. Your definition also makes the Allegro estate a shooting brake🤔😂🤣
And no idea about the reference to hearses and fire tenders?, you are the one claiming the term shooting brake can only be applied to a 2 door estate with extended doors🤔
No its not. I had a shooting brake Mercedes and it had 4 doors.
@@andymartinez767 Mercedes also made a 4 door saloon of the CLA, guess what Mercedes called that. A coupe.
😊 thanks for sharing
The most beautiful estate i have ever seen i would have requested a Sun roof 👍 cheers Stephen ✌️
The sultan could of saved himself 1.2 million for one in the 90s could have bought Ford Granada Gia estates
I've never seen this car before. Thanks for showing us!
TBH, these are NOT the only ones in existence, there has been a number of SZ Bentleys and Rolls converted to Estate, the same for the Shadow.
yet to see an Arnage Estate yet though !
This is incredible. What a car
The front wheels are driven by hydraulic motors. The hydraulic pump for the motors is belt driven.
For that money, they could have got a regular RR, a Volvo estate for ferrying around all the cucumber sandwiches and golf bags or shot deer and a lifetime salary package for the staff driving said estate....
How tall are you? The rear seat looked cramped with you in it?
You know I had a 1980 Dodge Aspen wagon,a dark purplish blue that it reminds me of.Slant6,loved that car,did a lot of work on it.
I love the concept of this - and externally it looks good to me, in an old estate car way - reminds me of a Merc W123 T. But that interior! Just goes to show that money doesn’t necessarily come with good taste!
That's a better interior
WOW I love it.
So do I!
Rolls Royce really milked the Sultan for this car
No they did not - RR and B at the time, refused to do a lot of the things that were "requested" which is why they went off to other bespoke builders, when you see what RR & B did make for them, they are significantly better.
The front wheels were driven by two hydraulic motors from a pump driven by belt off the prop shaft.
The original sound system was all Pioneer supplied as that’s what Jankel (with a J!) used. It was a great sounding system and that’s why it took up much of the boot.
There was no consideration for practicality, just to have something unique.
There were two cars produced with scantily clad girlie pictures instead of veneer wood trim…
Why does it have a Sony Xplod head unit now?
Yet Mum needs to teach you to tuck your shirt in..
Could you give some more details on the sound system in the boot? Drivers, amps etc. It'll be interesting to understand what was considered mega high end.
Maybe Sony XES stuff, judging by the head unit
Takes up an absurd about space :-)
Filled half his boot with sub woofer lol
Sometimes you’ve got to do it 😂
@@HorsepowerHuntersYT True that
Is it for sale?
What is the price today?
That run to the bonnet catch at 3.50 love the car presenter is quite odd mind
It's look great
What a handsome car.
Totally agree
Used as a hertz . Beautiful when not black and has one extra door
looks like a volvo wagon and a rolls royce had a baby
Cheap aftermarket Sony head unit from Halfords flashing away in the dash
looks like an old 123 merc ,, its one of the few estate conversions that just looks right , boys it looks right.
He spent 7 billion on cars 🤦🏻 please tell me they disowned him after that spending spree
He was sent into exile but is now allowed to return occasionally. He ran through mountains of money, including buying the London jewellery shop Asprey. He had very questionable taste. He had a yacht that he named Tits, with tenders called Nipple 1 and Nipple 2.
@@michaelmontagu3979hahaha !
Sorry, but your title is misleading. It WAS more expensive, not is. F1s are going for circa £20m now and this worrh peanuts relatively now.
funny lookin dard wagon
I wish the "estate car" moniker would catch on in the states.
Which car did they cut the roof off to put on this?
None, it was all bespoke build.
15 billion on cars from the people😮😮😢😢😢😢😢😢
Cadillacs from 68 have parkingbreake auto release when the car is put in D or R.
You should find the 1 of 1 Rolls Royce Val D'Isere
What !!!! No picnic trays.
If Max Power had Bentleys...... :D
My fiat 130 had town and country horns!! Apart from the extention and gaudy interior!!
Jeffrey was famous for having lots of his cars painted in the same yellow
Did IKEA do the interior!
Hilarious that they went to all the effort of making it an estate, only to make the boot smaller than the standard car. We have a 1987 model and I can put a 6 foot step ladder in there diagonally it's so huge. Also interesting that they didn't spec the crystal whiskey decanter in the rear and the mobile telephone in the front armrest. Ours has both so surprised the Bruneis didn't choose it.
If they’re Muslim they don’t drink alcohol
I bet a W124 300TE 4Matic would have been a much better solution to his needs and definitely more reliable.
In 1992 you could get
A Range Rover Vogue
Lincoln Escalade
Mercedes G-Wagen
Land Cruiser
Jeep
So I will buy a normal Bentley Turbo R plus any of the above for Off Road stints ✅
looks like a early ford zepher estate
i would say its worth like 7000€ and with the nostalgia to it maybe 12700€, if it's all ok and has no problems.
In your dreams
Sony radio looks out of place 😂
Check out this guy’s driving position
Really like the exterior colour but that interior, oh boy, ive never seen anything more ghastly!
Tuck ya shirt in !!!🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Love it ,
Why are people complaining about the title??? Listen to his explanation in the video
I don't care if it's more expensive than my McLaren F1.
yeah right, the only F1 McLaren you have was made by Hot Wheels.
There really is no accounting for taste... LOL
Great video! Too bad they destroyed the cars with their exquisite taste in leather.
How could these orders affect RR if they were modified by other companies?
He was purchasing cars by the hundreds. Apparently he alone accounted for half their sales at one point in the 90s. Has 500 in his collection.
@@buckodonnghaile4309 oh, thanks. But those left RR factory as stock cars, right?
@@s.s.p.9680 Correct, and at a heavy discount, for the bulk sales, so no, not really did he keep them in business, he kept the lights on and people working harder than they were, but the would have survived without him.
does look like a hearse
Would make a good team car for the Swedish football team or a Hearse
Better than any G wagon and range rover. Shere class.
He appears to be sitting in an extremely uncomfortable driving position.
I offer you 88 Canadian dollars sir.
Interior out of ali in da house
Hearse inspired?😮
Interior by Blippi
What a shed
Would you like to see another car with automatic parking brake release……might I suggest 1960 Cadillac……any of them.
AND !
Isn’t there a pink one? I’m sure I saw a pink Rolls Royce one in London a few years ago.
Oddly- a rather attractive colour.
Ahead of its time, diamond stitching in the ceiling
Incorrect, Ferrari used diamond stitching on the parcel shelf's and rear areas of there 60's GT cars
1.2 mill New, what is the value now?
Thank you.
Bet it’s worth around £40k 😂
Nothing about the AWD system 😢
Yes there is…
@@HorsepowerHuntersYT it is a belt driven system ...
9:30 man, the leather is orange, not yellow painted. Don't name the orange yellow, can you?😎
Why so expensive? The unique-body 5-piece Bentley Empress costed 3 times less.
15,000,000,000 of his people's money on junk.
colour is simliar to Atlantis Blue from same era.
"ased on the Bently Turbo R and is an estat" 🤣😂🤣 Bently...
Beautiful, but it isn’t very practical as station wagon
All that work to make something with no more usable luggage space than my '97 Brooklands 🙂
So the royal family needed money and sold one car to a private individual? lol
The price is irrelevantly ridiculous, I’d daily drive a useful station wagon, give purpose to its life
luv it
Was Jankel much more expensive than Hooper?
wouldn't it been easier to just convert a hearse version of these?
And how do those appear ? fresh air,
There's absolutely no way he spent 15 billion dollars on cars that would be absurd impossible.. like 10,000 of the most expensive cars on the planet and still you wouldn't reach 15 billion
yes he did, he has thousands of bespoke hand made cars, they even had a fleet of Range Rovers, rebodied as Bentley's, they had the first Bentley Off Roader before Bentley released the Bentayga, there are HUNDREDS of bespoke Ferrari's, and if you care to check, there are some video's on the net showing some of these cars, and believe me it is easy to spend millions on cars when you want to change so much.
