    Nice job again... I noticed you have quite a few keys on your key ring. When I purchased my Cirrus, I noticed the factory ignition switch was replaced prematurely... I heard from an A&P that this happened because of a heavy key ring used by the previous owner. If you notice your ignition switch losing its detents when you do your mag checks during run up or ground check on shut down, you may be seeing the beginning of an issue. Maybe not.

    Enjoy the videos, I have been "Cirrus..Ly" considering a purchase of a Cirrus SR20/22T sometime before the end of the year. Since I trained in a SR20 G5 in the first place... You have helped me choose the SR22T...

    Interesting flight to watch, typical for a longer X-Country, a little bit of Everything.!!
    Also enjoyed the overview of managing the digital equipment onboard, interesting.
    BTW, what a Beautiful morning departure and arrival, love them small airports on a lake. 🛩

    Thanks for posting the video. Do you fly for fun or business (you appeared very casual) and where did you lean to fly (if you don't mind the question). Lastly did you learn on a Cirrus or do you recommend learning on a Cirrus?

      Midwestpilot we just carry life vests when doing water crossings.

    Navigating through convective weather with nexrad weather = bad idea. Wouldn't even try do to that with the nexrad we have in the corporate jets. Just because it worked this one time doesn't mean you should attempt that again.

    • @socomon69

    • @Cirrus_Driver
      @Cirrus_Driver  7 років тому +3

      socomon69 I'll go over it in my next video but we typically keep our plane at CGF, the airport is closed June/July to redo runway. We moved it down to POV where the T hangar we rented wasn't ready till the day I made this video. The hangar that the plane was in at the beginning of this video was a friend's who let us keep it there for a week until our t hangar was ready.

    • @socomon69

      Well, you get to fly a way cooler plane than I ever did, so I still want to be you when I grow up. :) Keep up the good videos.

    Mind boggling decision ....does the chute make you stupid? Thanks for sharing the mind of the Cirrus pilot.

    • @Cirrus_Driver
      @Cirrus_Driver  7 років тому +7

      Jimmy Z mind boggling decision? You must've never flown IFR or are not a pilot. This is an everyday thing that can easily be safe as long as you take the right precautions.

    • @robfraley4210
      @robfraley4210 7 років тому +1

      Jimmy Z , That is the Truth what he said... Flying the Old Beech -18's 5 nights a week on time NO matter What single pilot Freight runs we Didn't have Any of this new digital equipment, No radar, we went through all the Squall lines down between 4-7,000 feet agl and headed for the area with the Least amount of lightning..!! No shit man. If I could post a photo on here of the inside of one of them Old Beech-18's cockpits You would shit.... But that's how it was back then in the 80's, and we Liked it, We loved it...!!

      @@Cirrus_Driver Your decision making is mind boggling. ATC mentioned to you more than twice the area of weather that you should not have been in. Nexrad kills who attempt to do what you did. Never enter an area of convective weather using it.

  • @pacevedo9
    @pacevedo9 7 років тому +1

    First thing they teach you in flight school is to NOT USE THE RADAR FOR FLYING THROUGH AND DODGING THUNDERSTORMS

    • @Cirrus_Driver

      Pablo AB exactly, and I never do.

    • @pacevedo9
      @pacevedo9 7 років тому

      Yeah you didn't, good job, but you definitely thought about it at one point.

    • @Cirrus_Driver
      @Cirrus_Driver  7 років тому +1

      Pablo AB I always use it as a reference but never depend on it. It tends to over predict, plus since it's XM weather it can have a delay around 5 minutes. Never considered going strictly off of it but it does give you a good idea.

    • @jimmyz688
      @jimmyz688 7 років тому

      Pablo AB huh??? Cirrus doesn't have radar. Just XM weather which is useful long range but will kill you close in

    • @pacevedo9
      @pacevedo9 7 років тому

      No but XM weather gets its information from radar doesn't it?
