Great video, I have the Seragosa 10K paired with a 11’ Dark Matter CCC Surf rod and a Penn Slammer 4DX paired with a 10’ Penn Batallion 2 surf rod. Love them both for the Long Island NY surf.
How heavy is the 10k setup for repeated casting. I'm torn right now on saving money buying a gosa instead of a staal. Going to put it on a 10'6" Black hole USA
@@adamrutkowski807 Too heavy. Even the 6k was too heavy for me for repeated casting. Gonna throw you a left field tip: For lightweight power, get a Daiwa. The Free Swimmer 5000 has been awesome on my 9’ Penn Carnage surf rod. 26.5lb of drag power, a dual drag system for live bait, and only 10.2oz. I upgraded the knob too cause it was paltry. You can find non-dual drag Daiwa’s with similar specs too. Legalis, Lexa LT, Caldia… all Saltwater ready and ~$150. If you want to stick with Shimano, then look at the Vanford (light as the Daiwa’s) and Stradic SW (lighter than ‘gosa, but still quite hefty compared to other options). They will, however, be about $100 more.
@@untraceablefishingi am getting my okuma tesoros and 2 daiwa certate 24. In a few days i also own daiwa caldia sw 22. Id be happy to give you my opinion of them after some use
Love how well used these two reels are. I hate seeing reel reviews of shiny new reels. I beat up my gear, and my Saragosa is the workhorse that gets the most use by far!
Hey bud🎣👌🏻 Yeah, when doing a longer term review I guess it’s important that they are a bit beat up🤣 these reels are extremely well used, being our primary reels- and both of us are very rough on our equipment- it’s there to be abused🤣 Glad you enjoyed the review!
Excellent. Do you know where I can find spares for a Saragosa 10000F ? I am on a tight budget and hot the reel secondhand but the gears were badly corroded upon opening it as it did not oscilate. Did a search on their website, but didn't find anything. Thanks
choices choices.... I am leaning towards the Slammer due to its IPX index and I have been told by some reliable provincial anglers that the Slammer is more durable and robust compared to the Gosa. however the Gosa is butery smooth.....
If anything… the Gosa noise is genuinely a selling point (and this is comparing my slammer)… If my slammer had the Gosa sound- it would be perfect! Trust me, fish next to someone who owns a Gosa, and all day everyday that noise gets you going!
Thank you for your videos, they are so helpful and informative. Great stuff. How would you rate Loomis and Franklin reels? I haven't used one but they seem pretty well built and solid and the price is good too. Thank you
lol🤣 Bud, this is my fishing partner… you lucky I don’t show the rest of his fishing stuff🤣🤣🤣 If you need an item to be tested, send it to Dean… if he can’t break it, add a lifetime warranty to it🤣🤣🤣
I read a lot of reviews of the PENN reels. I'm surprised how far apart these reviews can go for the exact same PENN reels. For some it is trash, for others the best reel on the planet. The reviews for the Shimano's and Daiwa's are far more consistent. I don't understand this.
Slammer is rubbish. I hate mine and I'm not even fussy. The drag is garbage. It takes a zillion turns to do anything and is NOT smooth. The bail roller constantly jams and ends up shredding my line. My slammer is brand new but it is so bad I refuse to use it and it has put me off spin reels for life. I am 65 years old and been a surf fisherman all my life and I run a lot of gear. The Penn Slammer is the worst reel I own. It has cost me multiple big fish including my biggest for the season before I stopped using it completely. These are facts I have no reason at all to hate on Penn. My Penn 9/0 has never let me down and it's 40 years old.
Some guys have had this issue/similar with Penn. I don’t believe you are alone… one of our subscribers can’t stand them, his has given nothing but trouble. I’ve had a Slammer since 2016 and they’ve never skipped a beat, so for me- I can’t say I share your thoughts on it.
So weird my slammer is the completely different takes like a half turn on the dial and it locks up really quickly always finding myself locking it up too tight cause I get excited when I get a fish on and also never had a promo with the roller I’d take it back to the shop and get a new one if I where you bro
Penn slammer is more durable compared to Saragossa . Saragossa has only one pros that is it little bit lighter than slammer Rest penn takes away the show

Wow!!! You have some epic setups right there!! The Betallion paired with the DX must be amazing. Thanks for sharing your setups🎣🤙🏻
Which one do you like more which one is a better reel
Saragosa 14k for my 13' surf rod you think?

Spot on. USA, Mid-Atlantic. My 6000 saragosa is awesome. It ain't afraid of whatever eats... have landed 3.8 meter sharks. Lot of deep wades..
Undeniably an awesome reel!!! Will last forever if you look after it… and that noise it makes is just what sells it😍
Nice review, thank you. Now I know the "true" line capacity for the 6500.
Glad you enjoyed the review fisho🤙🏻🎣
Good video. Some smart video movements.
Thanks bud🤙🏻🙏🏻 trying to improve on every video🎣
Yoi can take of the gosa handle there are 2 screws on the far side of handle from the reel side there is w screws
Thanks bud- we will check it out🤙🏻🎣
Whether it's the gosa or slammer.. Both are brilliant reels and love punishment
Absolutely bud- they are really bulletproof reels!
@@untraceablefishing complete nonsense... my brand new Slammer is anything but bulletproof... it's all looks and not performance

We did do a Loomis video- go check it out💪🏻
They not bad for the price, particularly the Ripper👏🏻
@untraceablefishing Thank you. I will look for the video. Have a great day
Very interesting so where are you fishing Easter Weekend
Not too sure just yet🤙🏻 water is still a mess after this big east wind!
You gotta review the DX, it’s a better version with the spool drag
100% we will get there…
We have done the authority though- go check it out👊🏻
I have both and the Saragossa is better in every way. I hate my slammer. Worst $300 reel I’ve ever owned
🙈🙈🙈
We obviously have both, and love both…. But SO many guys have issues with the Slammer😳
Same I don’t even use the slammer
Love my Slammer DX
My penn 8500HS setup kick@$s. able to catch 2 heavy fish much easier with this reel. Very satisfied with mine.
The state of that gosa 🙈

100% agree!
Both reels are top notch!
Sold all penn reels daiwa mq , shimanos are st another level
Interesting… but a common opinion of lots of people🫣 We are still Penn fans… but the Okuma Tesoro has now taken preference🤣💪🏻
Had a slammer 8500 for 3 whole weeks shark fishing with it and the gears and drag got toasted
That’s hectic bud… not good at all. I hope they sorted it out?🫣

If you want to hear ‘very American sounding’ you should try the Penn Authority, it sounds like there is sand in the gearbox.
lol🤣

Hey man i finally got the chance to buy myself the assassin horizon zero rod and now im saving some money to buy myself the gosa 14000
