Love these speakers! You actually inspired me to make my own a while back and I found your channel again. I was wondering how you got into this career? I'm looking to pursue mechanical engineering in college and hopefully get into acoustics later down the line
After 23 years, in 2023 I bought thin-film AMT ribbon tweeter speaker GoldenEar BRX and I love them so much that I bought a 3rd one as the center speaker for the home theater. source=Apple Music lossless
Thanks. Yes, my IOTAVX SA3 decided to leave this world and stop working. They can replace parts, which is a bumber, and now I have a very large and expensive doorstop. I upgraded to some secondhand higher-end components. Sound is much improved. I will try to remember to include a list in my next video.
I have to say. I really like watching your work. Wanted to ask if you could do a design with passive bi-amping. Curious to know if it makes any kind of sound improvement.
Cool design! I was going to ask why dipole (rear firing tweeter), but since it can be omitted, I would 100% use a switch to be able to enable or disable the feature. Or, I think with yeah with a separate set of binding posts which can be bridged, effect would have been the same as the switch.
I have some questions) Why you build pipe with step by step increasing cross-sectional area but finally put small rounded port? Better may be build decreasing pipe with rectangular port at the end point. It can be more compact and much more low Hz bass point with same woofer.
This can be explained as a mass loaded horn. Or, the port can simply be reshaped and put at the end of the horn as a rectangle opening. It amounts to the same thing.
How do these compare with the larger Arylic speakers? I built the larger ones and really enjoy them however my wife is not a fan of how large they are.
They compare well, perhaps less output in terms of how hard you can push them, but should still be more than enough for the average user. I might still just prefer the sound of the larger one by a slight margin. The smaller ones perhaps tuned slightly bright, but if you omit the rear firing tweeter, this might solve it if you prefer less bright sounding speakers.
The RCF Evox range is very good in my opinion. We use the Evox J8's in our church venues across the country.. A build like this will be very difficult to do economically. From and electronics side, it iis also rather involved. I have tried it before, it was just not a project that I put on this channel.
Hey mate, beautiful build! wondering if you have the skills/interested to make a MEH/unity/synergy horn? there are some plans available online, but i also have a bunch of 3d printable designs saved if ever you're interested! can also be found but very deep in the forums hahaha
-6 dB at the junction of the bands leads to distortion. audible to the human ear. in this option, all the summation energy goes to maximizing the amplitude the phases of the stripes are strictly parallel. between phases 180 or 360 or 360+180 or 0 but not in the analog version. but there are other options for strip summation. and there is an option in which the summation energy is spent not on maximizing the amplitude but on maximizing the movement of the phase wave. to my ears, such acoustics sound better with the same frequency response писал через переводчик
@@SoundBlab Yes but that's not make it 3way. 3way say that you have 3 speakers playing different frequency. (woofer, mid, tweeter) Rear tweeter is only for ambient sound.

You can tell the bass is very impressive from the demo. Very nice!
Thank you!
You're the best speaker builder!
This build sounds bigger than the footprint. The bass response is surprising.
Elle procure une belle sonorités ainsi qu'une belle définition bravo ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome stuff. Boom.

They Sound great🎉 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks

Cool acoustic
system. I have a
question, what is the
name of your
program in which you
perform hull
calculations?
Very nice build! I see you have updated some of your audio equipment! Very nice! Do you have a list of the songs you play in your demo?

very interesting design! nice speaker too
Thanks

Thanks. I don't bother with by-amping. In my setup, it has no advantage that I have found.
I wish you took measure of the bass response in the room
What were the sound tracks that you used for the demo?

Can u tell meet what the in room frequency response was?

Nice build!
Why did you use an passive Crossover, instead of using the 3 Way Arylic with internal DSP, so you could connect each driver seperat?!
Interesting Question. Know there was problem to separate L/R amps.
I wanted to design a passive loudspeaker, not active.
Any chance we could get a venue build? I'd love to build something for weddings. 100-200 person large rooms. Currently using RCF Evox 12

Do you ever build active speakers?
I've done one or two, but it is not my preference.
how are you keeping track on + and - is the wire is a single color?
One wire has a red stripe along its length
So cool.. any kit?
Only build plans
What the idea about the back firing tweeter?
It aids in creating a larger soundstage and better imaging if implemented correctly.
can i know the color code?

Should we be worried. 3 months with no new builds published. Hopefully everything is going well with you?
This is not 3way. I see only 2 drivers
Tweeter on the back

The sound demos never sound good and I'm sure they do in person. So either you need a new mic or you need to treat that room.
What routerbit do you recommend for the speaker holes? I didn't quite catch what you said.
