    You can build this floor standing speaker with guidance of my build plans that are available on my website. The build plans include all the information you need to build this speaker, including wiring and crossover.
    What should I call this one? It's a speaker with a built-in amplifier with wifi, bluetooth, airplay and more. The speaker configuration consists of one full-range, one subwoofer and two passive radiators.

    Beautiful. I'd love to see a passive build of these as a stereo pair.

    This looks more like slapping speakers😂 I think best of your projects so far. Cost fortune but I believe that's not what matters this time. Well done again!

    Great Erik. Snyggt. Stylish. Powerful. Umpf. Doff doff. Did you use the acrylic to beam light from a led on the amp board? Duratex better than MDF sealer? Great build.

    i would use different drivers but your version is not bad at all.
    and they look amazing.
    i would use two dayton audio rs125p-8 for the midrange. the paper based membrane would probably have low dirty resonances in the upper frequency range above 2kHz.
    i would go for an M-T-M configuration with a Vifa/peerless XT300 KT/4 ring radiator. those tweeters are very smooth because of a low tube-like k3 distortion.

    Ok. So I asked about the 7” version. Maybe with the Dayton audio reference (paper) 7” (x2 maybe) with the 7” epique sub and two 7” PR. Not sure about the amp though. I’d figure with it getting a signal from the receiver that either a passive network or two channel amp would work. I’d def like to hear a demo of this as a pair to see if a sub would even be needed. Even in the 5 1/2” version.

    looks nice! Just out of curiosity: for the center to center distance, would it not be better to move the active driver to the top opening, or is the XO that low it does not matter much?

    • @Erikdidit
      @Erikdidit  3 місяці тому

      Thx! Great input, that is something I have to try when measuring the speaker and something I didn't even think about.

    • @stefanweilhartner4415
      @stefanweilhartner4415 3 місяці тому

      i think the XO frequency is low enough. i guestimate 200Hz which would result in a wavelength of 1.5m. with that, it should be fine. lambda/4 is 37,5 cm. that is apptox. the distance. maybe there is a small dip in that area, that depends on the crossover as well. moving the crossover frequency - only from the sub - a bit up could resolve that.

    Passive Aggressive. It looks like a transmission line box plus passives. Hmm. Bipolar? Regardless it looks really nice.

    Love the design! I was wondering if you did a calculation of the enclosures, I have the impression that the loudspeakers do not work in the optimal parameters due to the dimensions of the speakers. I think it should be bigger. Did you use any app for this? Thank you!

    Definitely would’ve used a different method of wiring up the speakers over soldering if something happens to one of the drivers you’d either have to cut the wire or break out the soldering iron, connectors would’ve been a decent option over soldering imo especially for maintenance or driver replacement even modern speakers use spade connectors.

      ja, aber der tang band breitbänder liefert einen glatten frequenzgang und aufgrund der papiermembran wenig aggressive resonanzen im hochtonbereich. der einsatz eines breitbänders bringt aufgrund seiner zeitrichtigen wiedergabe von mittel bis hochton eine hohe räumliche auflösung. der dayton subwoofer ist für diese größe ein super teil mit ungewöhnlich weiter linearer auslenkung und die passivmembranen lassen sich in der resonanzfrequenz sehr einfach abstimmen und produzieren bei ordentlicher bassleistung kein bassreflexrohrrauschen. alles in allem ein schlüssiges konzept.
