omg I love these 2. Honestly I credit Sierra for having introduced me to gaming and also my choice of career in programming. I still have yet to fulfil a life long dream of programming my own game though. I'll be buying this game just to give back to them and I hope they continue with other remakes as well. I would love to see classics like Space Quest, King Quest and Police quest remade for VR!!
It's C# and Unity. There are some third party packages, but not many. I haven't added up how many lines of code, but, it's a bunch. I searched JUST our folder (no third party packages) and there are 783 C# files, some over 1,000 lines of code. It's a huge product. Had I known what we were getting into, and what a large game it would be, I'd never have tackled it as a first product. This started as a "fun little project" I was going to code alone. That idea went out the window early in development. Instead we've had 30 full time professionals working incredibly hard. I've worked 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, as has Roberta, for over a year, and typically on the weekends other team members are keeping up with us, and some working even harder.
@@mikem1076 Good luck with it! It sounds a little like Roberta and I. We started in the 70s, built a company, sold it, retired, bought some real estate, and amazingly are building another game. But, this time -- for the fun and love of game development, not the money.
Absolutely! Both the VR and the PC versions have things to recommend them. I actually prefer playing the PC version, although the VR version is more immersive and definitely worth seeing.
@@Alex-wb2yw we plan on supporting lots of different platforms, but aren’t thinking that far ahead. The current goal is to get the Pc, mac, Linux and quest 2 versions out the door and then figure out where else to roll it
We are working closely with the team at Meta on the game, and meet with them weekly. We're an officially approved "app" and they like what they are seeing. My expectation is that we'll be available in their app store, but Meta will make that decision, not us. The ball is in our court to deliver a game that merits them showcasing it in their store. We're working hard every day making sure that happens, and that the game makes us, and them, look good. We want it to sell a lot of Quest 2s!
@@colossalcave You should try the game on quest 2 called “Contractors”. I know first person shooters are not your preferred genre but it uses an interesting game engine. When I play it I feel without even needing to hold and shoot weapons, could be the perfect way to create maps just for exploraton. They allow map editor and creation, and users have been able to create almost every map of almost every first person shooter ever made with so much detail, and file size is so small that currently i have hundreds of maps downloaded that only take up a small amount of space. I recommend you at least take a look at this game’s engine.
@@colossalcave and definitely look into the tactile peripheral called bhaptics. They have a vest, arms, and face shield that has force feedback, like the one in each quest 2 controller. The vest has 40 of those…the arms have i think one each…it adds to the immersion. Cant play another game without it. In contractors you can feel each guns unique recoil…and can feel when you are getting hit in the back. Very cool
@@benjiebarker Interesting! I have started using more of the haptic feedback in this game, and it adds a lot to the experience. I can imagine the bhaptics vests would take the whole thing up a huge notch. The future is definitely amazing!
These two just ooze the good Sierra vibes - even 25 years later. Can't wait to play this game and I hope the Williams continue developing games.
Roberta is such a natural storyteller. I could listen to her for hours.
We are so lucky to have you both back!!! Can't wait to play this game!
This is fantastic, sign me up for the Beta!! Would love a 3D Space Quest too!!
Love you guys! Thank you for all the games and InterAction magazine. Having a new game from you is a gift I wasn't expecting.

This is all very exciting!!
I'd love to see you somehow get to work on the King's Quest IP again.
Легенды, без преувеличения, геймстроя...
Happy wife, happy life 😀
EXCITED!
So, in the 3D Game, besides the Unity library, what is the new version coded in?

Will there be a non-VR version for the rest of the 99% of us?
Absolutely! Both the VR and the PC versions have things to recommend them. I actually prefer playing the PC version, although the VR version is more immersive and definitely worth seeing.
@@colossalcave Do you plan on doing a PCVR (SteamVR) version, or will the VR version only be playable on Quest 2?
