I saw him perform LIVE twice...i wear those memories as a badge of honor. He had a stage presence that no other artist possessed in my view....totally just magic. Thank God I had the honor to hear him twice. My all time favorite artist!
Perry reminds us of just some of the unselfish things Frank has done that nobody talks about. Paid for friends funerals, paid for their hospital stays and doctor bills, help build and fund all the VA Hospitals and much more without asking to ever be acknowledged or thanked, thats a peoples person. People never hear all the good he does all you hear about are the so called bad things. Frank you are missed !!!!!

Soon after Perry Como I discovered and I love all he ever did...they both number one's to me for over 65 years now. Perry & Frank were different in sound and style, but they each amazing to me all my life. Perry has a voice like no other...my sister fell in love with the incredibly very handsome Como, named her son after Perry, then her daughter after Patti Page...Man, those were the best days in great singers as these two, plus a good number more we could list. I’ve been in love with Frank Sinatra since I was 14. I’m 91 and I still love him. My family knows and every holiday I received tapes, glasses with his picture, you name it, if it has Frank on it ,I’ve got it!! He is, was, definitely one of a kind!!🌺🌈

We became lifelong friends ... when Frank passed he bestowed his pinky diamond ring to me ... and have never taken it off since his passing ... [ Work with Frank Sinatra ] Quincy Jones first worked with Frank Sinatra in 1958 when invited by Princess Grace to arrange a benefit concert at the Monaco Sporting Club.[41] Six years later, Sinatra hired him to arrange and conduct Sinatra's second album with Count Basie, It Might as Well Be Swing (1964). I too saw them on that tour in Phoenix Arizona, USA. Dean Martin was supposed to tour with them but got sick, his last illness, and so Frank asked Liza if she would step in. They were great.

That is so true. I have seen Frank Sinatra on 3 occasions. He was superb. I've always felt Frank Sinatra was a poet in motion, a great interpreter (not necessarily the best) of light verse. Just listen to his version of ole man river: excellent. Perry Como, who I had the pleasure of seeing in Dublin (and shook his hand) was,in my opinion, an infinitely better singer. Soft , warm, a beautifully modulated voice, lovely phrasing, with a lovely interpretation. We won't see their like again.

There is a funny photo in which Frank is standing behind a slightly worried Perry Como, who is seated in a barbershop chair, while Sinatra, scissors and comb in hand, pretends to give him a haircut. Como did was a barber by trade before becoming a singing star. Both were great, as also was that Kelly guy who made the intro.
I always thought of Mr. Sinatra as singing a song as the person who wrote it had intended it to be delivered.....his artistry was bringing each and every song to life....the was never anyone better at that....I hope that Ava and Frank were able to work things out....

Heavenly! Frank was the IT guy of our childhood dreams growing up. I was not of bobbysoxer age, but years later was introduced to him by my parents, who were. His songs played in our home throughout the day and night, entertaining us and making life swoonable. It’s possible that I am the happy individual I am thanks to his beautiful, magical voice.

There’s a whole 2nd tier of great male singers of the era - Tony Bennett, Vic Damone, Joe Williams, Jack Jones, Mel Torme, Billy Eckstine, Sammy Davis, Bobby Darin, to name a few - but in terms of sheer vocal ability, instinct, heart and musicianship, the only one who ever equalled Sinatra was Nat King Cole.

I think he WAS the top entertainer, paul, for probably about 55 out of his nearly 60-year career! His phrasing, enunciation of words, breath control, and the emotion that he put in those songs was straight from his heart, you could tell, especially on those sad ballads, which no one coud sing like him No wonder the bobby-soxers swooned over him, he was a very charismatic guy! Even at the end of his career, his audience loved him. I met him when we were both performing at No. Lake Tahoe, me in a lower piano-bar and him as the main attraction, of course. He was a very generous and gracious person and a marvelous host. I got to have dinner with him and several others a couple of times at Tahoe. That cemented my adoration for his singing, which I had had a long time, but also for him as a person. I attended several of his concerts and was invited back-stage several times after that. I'll never forget the man, my favorite singer of all time! In spite of what some think and say, he was a very good man, gave away millions of dollars to sometimes the needy he only heard about. He had a good heart. Vulnerable at certain times in his life, but that only made him stronger and better as a singer -- he really felt some of those sad ballads he sang -- the emotion was in his voice! A perfectionist, consummate performer, superb artist and incomparable talent.
'Nobody could touch this man'. He was simply the greatest singer of popular music.

There is a funny photo in which Frank is standing behind a slightly worried Perry Como, who is seated in a barbershop chair, while Sinatra, scissors and comb in hand, pretends to give him a haircut. Como did was a barber by trade before becoming a singing star. Both were great, as also was that Kelly guy who made the intro.

I always thought of Mr. Sinatra as singing a song as the person who wrote it had intended it to be delivered.....his artistry was bringing each and every song to life....the was never anyone better at that....I hope that Ava and Frank were able to work things out....
Its amazing that its been 40 years since this ceremony, & 25 years since we lost Frank, but even 100 years from now, there will be 4 artists that will be listened too & talked about long after we're long gone- Elvis, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra & Michael Jackson! Frank Sinatra has always been my favorite male singer. Judy Garland was my favorite female singer. I guess I always liked stars who had a good and 'not so good' reputation. God bless them both R.I.P.
Actually, I think that Streisand is the best woman singer! Also, if he had lived, even Sinatra would acknowledge that Elvis Presley would have received the Kennedy Center Honor for Lifetime Achievement eventually!

Heavenly! Frank was the IT guy of our childhood dreams growing up. I was not of bobbysoxer age, but years later was introduced to him by my parents, who were. His songs played in our home throughout the day and night, entertaining us and making life swoonable. It’s possible that I am the happy individual I am thanks to his beautiful, magical voice.

Sinatra alone sits on the throne of modern male singers. There’s a whole 2nd tier of great male singers of the era - Tony Bennett, Vic Damone, Joe Williams, Jack Jones, Mel Torme, Billy Eckstine, Sammy Davis, Bobby Darin, to name a few - but in terms of sheer vocal ability, instinct, heart and musicianship, the only one who ever equalled Sinatra was Nat King Cole.

FRANK SINATRA WAS ONE OF THE TOP 5 ENTERTAINERS OF OUR LIFETIME
I think he WAS the top entertainer, paul, for probably about 55 out of his nearly 60-year career! His phrasing, enunciation of words, breath control, and the emotion that he put in those songs was straight from his heart, you could tell, especially on those sad ballads, which no one coud sing like him No wonder the bobby-soxers swooned over him, he was a very charismatic guy! Even at the end of his career, his audience loved him. I met him when we were both performing at No. Lake Tahoe, me in a lower piano-bar and him as the main attraction, of course. He was a very generous and gracious person and a marvelous host. I got to have dinner with him and several others a couple of times at Tahoe. That cemented my adoration for his singing, which I had had a long time, but also for him as a person. I attended several of his concerts and was invited back-stage several times after that. I'll never forget the man, my favorite singer of all time! In spite of what some think and say, he was a very good man, gave away millions of dollars to sometimes the needy he only heard about. He had a good heart. Vulnerable at certain times in his life, but that only made him stronger and better as a singer -- he really felt some of those sad ballads he sang -- the emotion was in his voice! A perfectionist, consummate performer, superb artist and incomparable talent.
Was the top entertainer, not the top 5, he was the BEST that ever lived.
