    Just listening to the band was worth the price of admission. Singers have no idea what real talent sounds like. Computers can't duplicate live music.

    A million-dollar honorarium for the greatest singer of all time, Francis Albert Sinatra! He earned all that glory for what he gave us for almost 60 years of his remarkable musical life, and is still giving us joy with his recordings and film work, which we can pull up and pretend that it's current! Thank you, FS, and RIP now.

    This was the best show I have watched. To bring back all the big band singers. My Dad (who passed suddenly in Oct 2020) was a Big Band Leader and played with many of the Big Bands and had his own 19 piece orchestra. He would have absolutely gone nuts over this show. His brother who is also a musician, (My Uncle) would love this show. Can't wait to show it to him. I saw many of the performers shown. What an amazing gather! Thank you for placing this on UA-cam where we can bring back that sound that will never die even it performers have. Thank you bunches! 🎼🎺🎶🎵

    The passing of the Forties/Fifties/Sixties, in my opinion, was the best periods of Blues/Jazz/Swing etc, those moments during a dance, all dancers would stop at the bandstand just to watch the drummer, play his solo Only top glide off again when the whole orchestra kicked back in to finish the dance those,
    Ah, those were the days, sadly all of fifty years ago now, how we danced, kissed, & loved in doorways, only to run to catch the last bus home, Memories.

    I miss those days, going to one of those early concerts, meeting & hanging out with them. Listening to Big Bands. Dancing to the music.

    • @mjlejer3241
      @mjlejer3241 3 роки тому +3

      I first became aware of Heny Mancini from the song, Baby Elephant Walk" is a song Hank wrote in 1961 for the 1962 film Hatari! In 1963 , the song earned Mancini a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement. The tune was written for an impromptu scene in Hatari! in which 'Dallas' ( Elsa Martinelli ) led three baby elephants to a waterhole to bathe! The next year, though, "Pink Panther" probably put him on the world map. I admired Mancini for years and still seek his orchestra numbers and arrangements, he was a superb talent and I was acutely aware of our immense loss when he passed away in 1994.

    What a lovely presentation, thank you very much, we'll be back to hear The Voice of the 20th Century, the incomparable Frank Sinatra, whose popularity may go on to be one of the biggest and best of the 21st Century, who knows!
    And Ella, and others who are presented here, will never be forgotten! Many of those in the above video are gone now, but their legacy in music and the performing arts will remain forever! I'm so glad they included 2 of the 7 songs that Frank wrote "This love of mine" and "I'm a fool to want you." Thank you for the opportunity to see and hear them again in this video! We'll be back!

I can’t believe he’s been got for over 20 years… the world isn’t the same without him n the rest of the rat pack… may they all Rest In Peace🙏💋❤️

      You are correct, I guess they broke the mold at the end of this era, because you sure don't hear comparable music today. A few try, but I doubt if we'll have the myriad of talented performers that they had back in those times. We're so glad so many of them made recordings that we can pull up and that makes them live on in our hearts and minds!

    EVERY SINGLE GUEST , who were all of Franks real friends. They sang with emotion as I've never before. This is Franks kind show...all the way.
