To be able to write a song like this, catapults that artist to the highest possible echelons possible. Mark Knopfler is a musical genius and songwriting virtuoso. So many incredible Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler songs reach those heady heights. Excellent reaction

This song will always remind me of an episode of 'Our Tune' which was introduced by Simon Bates on Radio 1
I can't remember the year, but a Woman had written in to the Show to explain the loss of her Husband in a War (at that time) leaving her and her Children on their own.
Simon Bates told the Story to the listening audience, with his usual heart felt description, then he introduced this song that the Woman had chosen as 'Our Tune'........It simply had me in pieces listening to it.
I hope today that this Woman and her Children are much happier.
The end solo where the sun sets always gives me chills, it is insanely haunting, only a true musician could write music like this.
Don't forget the gravecrosses before!!
