Boots are very much like shoes, different people need different things. If you buy things purely based off the brand you’re gonna end up getting disappointed most of the time
Boots take time to break in, roughly 2 weeks. So renting boots that may or may not have been broken in properly and complaining they are no better than broken in boots makes more sense than you know.
Yes. But his specific complaint is that there was no control with the boots. Typically that’s due to them being soft, breaking the them in creates softness. so I’m not sure that you’re complaint is warranted here
His original complaint was that he was never using burton boots again and switching to vans instead. This was due to rental boots performing much worse than well-worn boots. Control comes from many things, not just tight boots.
@xe2014 You started by saying it was a complaint. Now you are saying it's not a complaint. Read your first comment... Also, use a dictionary, and you will find out a complaint is a statement. @justinhill7073 That's fair. Got to go with what fits best. Not what the brand name is. Since making this video I've learned I have wide feet which vans are wider on average than burtons. So the comfort difference for me makes sense. Hope you're having a great winter!
I used a used pair of Burton boots from 09-24. Sole finally fell off 2 weeks ago after probably 20 years of riding. I'm sure Vans makes some nice boots, but give me a break. Burton has made a name for themselves for a reason.
So no one brand is the magic brand for boots. Going to your local boardshop and trying on whatever boots you think you might like, in a couple different sizes, is certainly the move. And if you are hesitant on the prices of new boots, there will likely be some on sale from last season either in store or online somewhere. Hope this helps, boots are the number 1 most important piece of equipment. If you arent comfortable, you arent staying on hill having fun. Happy shredding!
I use Burton Boots, cause they fit ne the best. I have zero issues with them. They do not wore out, I got controll over my board and so on. But just as some1 mentioned, its about personal expierience
Finally got fitted into auro pros. I really hope they hold up as i heard the newer material doesn't hold up as well. But im so glad to have a boot that's not cutting off circulation.
What everyone really needs is to go a ski and snowboard shop and get a proper boot fit. Everyones foot is a little different and all the boots are a little different. Heel size, last, arch height, and instep volume are all very important for a performance fit and if you go to a ski shop they will know which boots they carry that will fit your foot best.
I bought a new set of 32s at the end of last season and I’m so impressed with them. The burtons I used to wear were way more uncomfortable and even felt less supportive.
I had Lashed 32 boots for 14 yrs. After every day on them I couldn't wait to get them off. Eventually the soles came off. I bought Burton Step ons with Ion boots. 3 yrs on them & they are so good. I don't feel the need to get them off asap after using them not like the 32 Lashed.
Just got some burton moto's, they are super light weight and sit perfectly on my feet, super stiff as well. I love my moto's, but people like different things, that's why we have different brands and models.
Vans warranty goes trough their online store and not trough the dealer...so if something breaks and online store is sold out(usually mid season) no recourse to get new boots...Vans sucks!
I had a pair of Burton Boxer's for years and they always killed my feet by the end of the day. Now I have a pair of DC Phase for half the price and half the tech and they're the most comfortable snowboard boot I've ever rode, I love them!
I like my Salomon for going loose. My DCs were nice but super uncomfortable and needed to be cranked for control, even if I did the oven trick. The older DCs were 10x better even when new and looser and gave more control. They were nowhere near as good as Salomon's old stuff, though. I can go one crank on the boas, be completely loose, and be happy all day. No experience with vans tho.

I'm testing lot of boots , but once crack foot Ride Fuse, now only Burton Driver X is comfortable from the stiff boots. Burton speed laces boots has less heel hold , unfortunately i can't use boa boots since cracked my foot.
I got a pair of very high end burton boots back in the day... not comfortable, poor support. Got some vans high standards and rode those for 5 seasons until I blew out the BOA. Got some solomons I love, but they're breaking down after 3 years, so just picked up brand new set of AURA Pros, feel great out of the box before even molding the liners.
I had the same experience vans to burton. Eentually, the vans boa broke to the point it could not be repaired. Switched to k2 and had a specific fit, they are amazing, but still miss my vans!
I own a pair of Nitro Team TLS boots and recently switched to second hand Burton Photon Step Ons and their build quality is vastly better. It's laughable and actually kinda concerning how terrible the Nitros are in comparison, given that they used to retail for a similar price point.
I only used my burton boots once so far. Never blame your equipment. It’s usually the writers technique. If the boots suck, they suck the boots are the most important part of your gear not to mention your skill.
Maybe you have a wide foot? Someone left a comment saying burton is made for narrow feet and that's probably why I don't like them. When you're ready for a new pair check out the vans aura pro. $289 new. Btw, I have no affiliation with vans. Just really like their boots. Cheers!
You're the second person to comment this. I've never worn Salomon. I just loved those old Vans so much I didn't explore any further. Now you have me wanting to find some salomons to try. Maybe one day I'll grow this channel large enough for them to want to send me a pair to review. One can dream. lol Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
Salomon boots fit my feet so well, I've gone through 3 pairs of Dialogues lol. Recently I branched out to DC boots and have been happy with fit etc. Burton boots just don't fit my foot outline. Lost balance in a bump and hit the ice patch... boots have no control 😂 wtf since when boots give control. Id not diss burton much maybe to stiff of thick for your liking so you can enjoy park riding vans. Once you get on snowmobile or traverse something for good freeride you might want thick stiff insulated burtons depends what you do 😊
Oh, so you mean to tell me that an older pair of nicer quality boots were better than the cheapest rental boots that you can get from a shop? WOW you’re like an influencer!
It shouldn't be that big of a difference. The rental boots were new base model burtons. The used boots are beat to shit and broken in some parts. They shouldn't ride that much better than a pair of newer boots. Those base model burtons aren't that much cheaper than the vans I got.
Yup. I got new DC top of the line models this season.. But I'm having trouble because my 17 year old 32s are still more comfy and stiffer...and look WAY better....no BOA though...

Never blame your equipment. It’s usually the writers technique. If the boots suck, they suck the boots are the most important part of your gear not to mention your skill.
I got burton X. They do the job but man are they not comfortable
Maybe you have a wide foot? Someone left a comment saying burton is made for narrow feet and that's probably why I don't like them. When you're ready for a new pair check out the vans aura pro. $289 new. Btw, I have no affiliation with vans. Just really like their boots.
Cheers!
Wrong Burton Boot. Try the SLX . Best boot ever.
Duude Helmet :S it's a bit more important than new boots don't you think ? Specially snowboarding ...
Solomon makes the best boots imo
Salomon’s are 🔥🔥
Isn’t it that you need to get used to a boot, to feel how to properly control it?
Rental boots are normally junk.
I love my Aura OG boa vans
Salomon. Try ‘em.
Salomon. Hands down my favorite.
You're the second person to comment this. I've never worn Salomon. I just loved those old Vans so much I didn't explore any further. Now you have me wanting to find some salomons to try. Maybe one day I'll grow this channel large enough for them to want to send me a pair to review. One can dream. lol
Thanks for the comment.
Cheers!
Salomon boots fit my feet so well, I've gone through 3 pairs of Dialogues lol. Recently I branched out to DC boots and have been happy with fit etc. Burton boots just don't fit my foot outline. I would always get discomfort. Salomon and DC boots I can where all day long fresh out of the box with no discomfort. I don't even heat mold
I’ve had two pairs of Salomon Synapse boots. They’re awesome.
@@Nicool333 You know it's a good fit if you go after the same model more than once lol. Recently I've experimented with DC boots for something a bit stiffer and I have been happy with DC so far
@@Nicool333 Same!! That was my go to!! Loved that but.
They were probably a lot stiffer and he couldn’t handle it property.
Dude of course the rental boots are going to suck, they’re rentals 🤦♂️
You got brand new shoes (didn’t even break it in), compared to a used boots that’s already broken in. Your reasoning is confusing.
All preference.
If you like stuff boots, you can’t beat Ride.
Lost balance in a bump and hit the ice patch... boots have no control 😂 wtf since when boots give control. Id not diss burton much maybe to stiff of thick for your liking so you can enjoy park riding vans. Once you get on snowmobile or traverse something for good freeride you might want thick stiff insulated burtons depends what you do 😊
So i tried Air once. And someone just farted. Newer trying Air again 🤣🤣
🤣 nice one
Oh, so you mean to tell me that an older pair of nicer quality boots were better than the cheapest rental boots that you can get from a shop? WOW you’re like an influencer!
It shouldn't be that big of a difference. The rental boots were new base model burtons. The used boots are beat to shit and broken in some parts. They shouldn't ride that much better than a pair of newer boots. Those base model burtons aren't that much cheaper than the vans I got.
Most actual riders think Vans or 32
I don’t know man I had vans and have just got my second pair of burtons bc the first pair was by far the best boot iv ever had!!
Thirty Twos are where it's at!
Yup. I got new DC top of the line models this season.. But I'm having trouble because my 17 year old 32s are still more comfy and stiffer...and look WAY better....no BOA though...
@@azonicrider32 I prefer laces myself. Got the TM Two's
