More videos from Nakhon Ratchasima aka Korat in the New Year! ✌🇹🇭✌
Can"t wait!!
I love Korat
The food is Amazing
Great video paddy hopefully be in korat from 5th myself sone Greta restaurants and fish market near save one market is amazing
If you are in Korat PLEASE go to Phimia! You will not be disappointed! Beautiful ancient Khmer temples right in the town center! + one of the worlds largest trees! (it takes up a whole island!)
There is a Chinese Noodle bar in Korat
Popular with the locals
Always sells out of food by 2pm
Find it if you have time
Paddy - it's time to learn Thai. There are no excuses left.
Agreed! I’ll learn with you
My first 3 years living in Thailand I avoided “hotpot” because I didn’t know how order or what steps to take in cooking the items. Finally a couple Thai friends introduced it to me at “MK”… then later at more local “ma& pa” restaurants. Definitely a group eating experience and very healthy. Unfortunately I usually sit where the smoke or steam lingers around the pot-lol. Good job on this presentation.
Thai people here in Phetchabun just call that food "hot pot." We eat it quite often, whether at restaurants or at home. In fact, we ate it today out on our back patio. It's always good, and can range from unhealthy (lots of pork and bacon) to healthier (fish, beef and chicken), and always with many kinds of vegetables thrown into the pot, as well.
We (central and western Thai) call it Jim-joom
7:30 ใบยี่ร่า (bai yee raa) are leaves from the Tree Basil Plant (Shrubby Basil, Ocimum Gratissimum). Not to be confused with another type of ยี่ร่า which is cumin - the seeds of which are used is most Indian curries and also a few Thai curries as well like Thai Green Curry.
That was an awesome food vlog!!! Love the food you had……..definitely looks yummy! You seemed very happy doing this video and thanks for sharing 🙏
Another great video! Great atmosphere, good food! I am going to look up this place next time when I am in Korat. Thank you, Paddy!
Absolutely love and miss the street food in country of smiles . Awesome Vlog as always Mr Doyle and thank you for a fantastic year of vlogs and look forward to many more . Merry Christmas and have a great new year 🎉
Thanks Paul! Same to you too!
Loved the concept and environment!!! 😊 Thanks Paddy!!
Hiya Paddy, What a great experience. Nice when your friends can tell you what you are eating. Thank you for sharing. Have a great week.
My main takeaway is that Korat deserves a look and I plan to have a go in there, especially because is fairly close to Bangkok considering Isaan’s scope. Hopefully the street food on the street will endure. Merry Christmas.
I will return in the new year to discover more of the province for sure!
Amazing hotpot meal. Thanks for taking us along for the ride! Good luck with Dreamy! Living vicariously via your channel. Hope to visit in 2022 if all goes well!
Hi Paddy, I am a follower of your travels based in Australia. I fell in love with the song Pandemonium by Hannah Stone watching drone footage of you exploring the beauty of Thailand by motorbike. How saddened I was to read that this amazing song came from an enormous talent whose life was cut so short. Thankyou for including it in your videos. I think that somehow she would have loved what you did with her music.
Loneliness is not for you Paddy you need company to get into a good mood and be happy . 🌺🌺🌺this beautiful couple really helped a lot 🙏
We had this kind of streetfood years ago in Nakhon Sri many years ago next to the army, but it disappeared and noone does it any more except on festive days in the city garden. I miss it sometimes, it has a special kind of atmosphere.
If you want to learn about some Thai veggies… Sas Vlogs is super informational! Have fallen in love with Thailand watching your videos. Hope you are having a beautiful time and have gotten a little rest and peace ♥️🙏🏻🤗
Happy Holidays Paddy. Patrick and I wish you all the best. ❤️🙏🏼
Thanks Sarah!
I love the way Thais alter the international foods and make it our own. We alter Mongolian bar b q into MOO KATA, nan idian good into ROTI, protugese crepe into KANOM BUENG, ginger dough ball into BUA LOY with coconut milk. And this Thai hot pot, we alter it from Japanese sukiyaki.
Amazing video Paddy. What a brilliant concept. Thank you. 👍👌✅
Looked amazing 🤩 Miss Thailand and the great food 🙏🏻🇹🇭Have a wonderful Christmas, Paddy 🎅🏼🤶🏻
Thanks! Same to you too!
@@PaddyDoyle. thank you 🙏🏻 Looking forward to the next “meeting” 👌
Lucky you in this time of the year.
Am from Korat but now we are in London.
You make me miss my hometown a lot.
Enjoy and so nice to see you as the young lad feel in love my to country.
Haha we ate at this place on our 1ste adventure we also made a video about it haha it's so crazy and now you went to the same place haha it's cool man.
To answer your question; the green herb on top is actually culantro or pak-chee-farang in Thai. It is not to be confused with coriander which is called "Pak Chee" in Thai or "Bai yee rah" which is known as Clove basil in English. You can also find Jaew Hon anywhere you go here, it's a version of Thai's Shabu likes MK indeed.
Ha ha ha...brilliant, as you say typical Thailand. Another great video. Love those Thai barbecue type street restaurants...first one I've actually seen on the street, normally see them as huge open air type restaurants with live music. Great way to spend a night with family or friends. Merry Christmas Paddy 😉🎅🍻
Thanks Huw!
Loved the vibe. Missed the premiere again, please give us more warning 💗
The smaller of the two basil leaves you had is called ใบโหระพา and it makes most Thai food even more fun to eat. I eat it with almost all Isan food, moo det diao (หมูแดดเดียว) and anything tangy or bright-flavored. Yum! 😊
No,is not ใบโหระพา sweet basil,Thai basil, but it call ผักชีฝรั่ง culantro, long coriander or sawtooth coriander.
@@user-yn3fn5gt8r I am talking about the small basil, not the long one. 🤣😜😊
Literally street food very unique looked good.
Looks like great fun and another memorable experience 🌲
really STREET food haha!
Loved this Video But yes Paddy my legs would not do that either. Looked amazing & kind of a FONDU experience*. Thanks & Merry Christmas & Have a Happy New Year*.
Thanks DebS!
This dining on the footpath (not actually street) Was quite common in Maesai when i first lived there and taught English.
Paddy you seem to be so happy again, nice to se you full of energy.
Amazing man reminds me of pho shops in hanoi, vietnam !! The lady speaks really good english .
That is the Thai version of hot pot. Variants of hot pot are found throughout China Korea Japan and a lot of South East Asia. Absolutely delicious.
Take a shot every time Paddy says "wow"! Lol
haha!
Merry Christmas Paddy!
That looked so good!! Yum!
it was a fun dinner that's for sure!
Coming to Thailand next week!!
They have that same setup here in Samut Songkhram. You should see them stoking the coals with the electric fan!
I think this is the shortest vlog you have ever put out, Paddy! But so interesting! This reminded me of Chinese Hot Pot. So delicious! This is similar to the short stools and tables on the streets of Vietnam.
Great stuff mate.
Another good one Paddy. Thai food is amazing.
Thx for visiting Korat. I was born there till the age of 9 before head back to the states side. You deserved a beer or two lol 😝
This is next level of dining. I have tried this in Bangkok. But in a different way. Drinking whisky 🥃 with side dishes like somtum and so so
“Mega street food on the street 555 Amazing Thailand 🇹🇭
This episode made me hungry. Then came a knock to the door. "Lunch is ready". I live with a family of seasoned chefs here in Prawet, Bkk. Three flights down the stairs to the outdoor patio kitchen, dining area and voila! The Paddy Doyle experience comes to life. I didn't get to sit on the sidewalk, though. dcb PS: The family watches closely as I struggle to eat with Thai mannerisms and etiquette -- Food for their daily laugh. Cheers!!!
yeah editing this whilst hungry was torture!
You enjoy eating Thai food so much. Are you coming to Wang Nam Kiao? It's a quite good place as well, people love spending their time here especially long weekend. I live here the reason why I highly recommend you to come around before going in to the other provinces.
Very grateful to you for sharing this beautiful journey with us. Always such a pleasure.
Thai hot pot. My thai wife makes it.
Easy and very aloy. Good to see you with a big smile. Take care.
Authentic Thai hot pot actually we use a clay pot to boil the broth
I was a monk temporarily for 3 days and we had to do a lot of praying and mediation and sitting down was so uncomfortable to me I couldnt do it either every 2min I was switching positions lol
Hey man! Thanks so much for all this content. I’m studying your videos for my upcoming trip to Thailand. Would you say korat or where in Isaan is the best place to visit for a foodie??!?! Thanks so much if u can respond!!!!!!
Wow wow wow, looks delicious. My kind of place. I am ready for dinner. MK suki is the best!
Alloy maaaaaak
The first veggie is an onion saw blade.
I have to try that type of cooking again but with spmeone who knows what they doing
Merry xmas to you Paddy. Some very enjoyable videos! Hope 2022 is good for you and stay away from Covid if you can!
I did that in trang, ,but it was just normal. Not as busy as in Korat.
My least favourite place in Thailand is in Khorat province - fingers crossed to see videos from you there!
One of my favorites
5 star street food scene - luv it 🍻👍😎🎅🙏
You looks so happy again mate!!!
I recommend you go to save 1 night market in korat
you should try visiting the night market Save One
As a Thai I never try that hot pot, it looks delicious 🤤
Paddy! Hangin in Samui with a few beers with your name on them, if you want to take a break.
กินได้แทบทุกอย่างเลยนะพี่👍👍👍🇹🇭
Happy newyear2022
The leaf thing you took a bite off is called culantro not cilantro, Culantro
ลองไป ตลาด Jodd Fairs ดูสิค่ะ คุณอาจจะชอบ..
What the price of beer 🍺 at the street food places and bars Chang?
Loved seeing u in my hometown! Miss it sm. & no you are not too fat to sit cross legged xD
It's just a certain flexibility, which can be trained by everyone
Omg really really street food 😁
Wow Lee's wife has amazing English
Looks delicious!
Alloy Maaaak
In amazed you had to use Google translate to say "Wait 10 minutes my friends have not come yet." I've been in Thailand for 9 years and my wife will tell you my Thai is horrible but even I can talk basic stuff like that. I only comment because you said you have been eating Thai street food for 10 years and it honestly shocked me. You have such an amazing Thai focused channel I just assumed you were fluent by now. Whatever love the content not being negative or having a go.
No way i saw that guy today! in a restaurant lol i only remember coz i didn't expect to see any foreigners and thought, ohh a foreigner. Then saw this video to see what's to do here and was like!!! small world. lol! I think that leaf is liquorice. I had that food at the restaurant too (Not where you are), Jim Jum it's called. Thanks for the tip but I'm going to the market tomorrow then off i think, but it was nice to see someone famous in passing 🤣🤣
Thanks, interesting
love korat bro
Only "Paddy Ferris Bueller Doyle" could turn sitting on the footpath eating into a totally entertaining experience. Well done ... PS. Hope to see you wearing a Ferris Bueller's Day Off tshirt one day (-:
Fun Video Paddy. I notice the dumbest things. Did you have your chopsticks upside down? Or do I just use them the wrong way? Hope you are having a very Merry Christmas.
haha I don't think so but that does sound like something I would do
Now your finally in my Wives Hometown.
Dam you Paddy … watching this eating a Pot Noddle and realise you win … my god yours wins in so many ways .. :)
welcome to korat🙏
It is real street food .
It's a true street food😁
The MK Chain is actually losing grounds to local "MK" like these in Thailand. Their market share is shrinking quite rapidly. As a Thai i find MK very much overpriced. It's just cheaper to eat from the local restaurant like these and they can be just as much delicious if not more.
I’m in Thailand for New Years and would love to hook up with you Paddy.
Cheers Steve and Maytawee
I am a follower of Ryan/Naked Guru, and I love you ALMOST as much as him.....and his great wife Damo and adorable Tis!! Thank you for your "bubbly" videos.... 😋😘👍 (Annie from Tampa, FL)
Very interesting...
Greetings from NY
อร่อยอยู่จิ้มจุ่มร้านนี้
Come on Paddy all that time spent in Thailand and you still cannot tell the waitress you are not ready and to come back in a bit when your freind,s arrive.
Suki is similar to moo krata without the bbq! One of my favourite but moo krata is better...all depends on how good the dipping sauce is...... I only visited Korat once for Songkran...and the Tawan Dang although I was a bit disappointed that they presented an overpriced Japanese menu (I'm brit/aus Caucasian!) Rather than Japanese... Still have a Facebook contact there that works on guitars in the area after sitting with them after the Morlum show... Why no Morlum???? Isaan music!! You cannot experience Isaan without drunk Thais enjoying Morlum!!!....
Very nice, like Jim Chom.❤❤
funny thing is I have eaten a lot of tripe . I didnt know what the f#%k it was . Now I carnt eat it .
5:00 Could I have cobbled together an explanation? Not really, but sort of! I'd have gone for 'Luk luk mai tee nai" - children not where, while pointing around the table - "Anooyat sip moy rai?" (Allowed ten when?). Shit Thai, plus context and pointing is often enough!
Your hairs getting long 🤣
Hope you have a great Xmas and new year
I'm afraid my 60+ year-old bones won't be letting me sit like that anytime soon.
Wellcome to my home🥳🥳🥳
