Dark Shadows is an amazing gothic/horror-themed '60s soap opera, and the entire series is available in one of the most amazingly packaged DVD sets ever created: 131 DVDs in a beautiful coffin-shaped box!
However, unscrupulous bootleggers are trying to pass off cheap counterfeit sets as legitimate products. Here's how you can make sure you have an official copy. - Розваги

I got my from Walmart and lucked out. Mine also came in the cardboard box with special inserts--and the description of the coffin is on the outside of the carboard box itself. Walmart was a great price and awesome perfect set.
The original coffin was also contained in a large plastic bag covering it inside the custom shipping box.
Thank you for this. I had so many issues on eBay dealing with the counterfeit one that I just gave up and bought the individual volumes. It has to be 4 out of 5 sets now.

Thank you for posting this. I had no idea and I’m shopping around for one of these coffin sets. I already have the complete series from MPI but they are just in normal cases individually and take up a lot of room.
That is what I had. Then I sold them on EBAY then used the money to buy the coffin set. I had to add some money to that because when this was first coming out, I paid extra to have a numbered set. I bought mine from MPI.
I would totally take the counterfeit so long as it was a fraction of the price...... Cause the real set is too expensive
My first set was counterfeit and the discs were destroyed fast. I have a legitimate set from MPI.
You had me worried for a bit. I bought my set from the Amazon warehouse several years ago but the box was broken when I got it. Thankfully, my discs are 8 gig, so I guess I'm good. I want to resell my set after I binge it. I'm only on disc 46 at the moment.

No, I watched it as a kid in the early 70s but I couldn't get into it again so I gave up not long after I posted this. @@A.I.Friends
I ended up with the counterfeit. All the discs play except I think 1 had trouble. I put it in the DVD player and it played. Weird it wouldn't play in the blu-ray player. Right after getting it I learned of this. Still pissed hahaha
I got my set and flipped because the coffin box had two corners ripped like on the counterfeit pictured here. Further inspection and watching this video assured me I have a legit copy but one packed by a guy who hated his job or grabbed it roughly when slipping it into the plastic bag. I ordered from Amazon, which sent me a copy shipped by MPI to Amazon (label still on box). That outer box was also numbered: 3645 of 5010. Glad to have this Holy Grail in house. I was okay with Prime until they made it "free with ads" and charged for random episodes. I knew I had to go big or go home and just buy it. Total cost: $412.60. No regrets!

I wanted to buy the set off of Amazon I heard that a lot of the desks don’t work it’s just a black screen on some and they don’t work I wonder if they fixed the issue

Take your box to a custom lowrider shop and have it velveted' out buddy.
I've seen a review on one of the Amazon sets that the episodes that were supposed to be in color, were not.
Some of the color episodes were lost and the only thing that existed was the kinescope copy, which was a recording of the episode on film, directly through a lens focused on the screen of a video monitor. There are also some episodes before they went to color that the kinescope copy had to be used. You can tell the difference. There is only 1 episode where the picture was completely lost and they had to use a sound recording and put still pictures on the screen.
