- Today my cute little helper and i put a new headlight switch in the old ford.
Having trouble with the tail lights so i figured since a new switch is cheap we'll give it a try.

I had a similar problem on a ‘67 Ford Bronco: left tail and break lights would not work when I used left turn signal. Lots of wires in the back end had been spliced/replaced etc for several trailer light connectors and they were all one color - brown. Couldn’t find the culprit, so I replaced the entire wiring harness which fixed the problem. So it must have been a crossed wire somewhere. Not suggesting you replace the entire wiring harness, just suggesting that you may have some wires crossed somewhere. For those that might be thinking my solution was extreme, there are probably less than 20 wires total in an old Bronco wiring harness and I was able to pull it out myself at the junkyard for $50, which allowed me the opportunity to label all the wires along the way.
That could be what I need to do as well.. mine was wired for trailer lights to so you're probably right and there's a brown wire crossed somewhere
That lil girl is SO CUTE! my lil one used to help me on my cars!
Yeah shes a great little helper
i had the same problem and i ran my own ground from the frame the the tail lights and it seemed to fix mine
I tried that to but didn't work.
May wanna try new bulb sockets, they cause all kinds of problems. I had to change all mine!
Something in them grounds together when they get old! Good Luck! Link to sockets below... Change all of them head and tail lights!

Nice old truck I have a 1978 f250 and a 1978 bronco
Thank you. It's been in my family since 1994
Found out my headlight switch is fine. My dimmer switch is not and isn’t letting power go to the headlights. Took the plug off and jumped power to low beam/high beam and lights turned on.
Update: Installed new dimmer switch and headlights work fine now.
Great looking truck! I see you have the AGU 5AG fuse box. Where do you get your fuses at?
Any auto parts store
Try wiring in a new tail light socket.. mine was damaged inside the white plastic where you can't see..
I did that.. still same problem
I have the same exact truck
My issue was my steering wheel turn signal switch
I'm thinking the same thing as well
I have the same exact issue. The blinkers work when the headlights are off but as soon as I pull the switch out they go off
I have the same problem with reverse lights
yeah sometimes they can be tricky
The bulbs need to be identical. Probably the sockets.
Bulbs are the same but that wouldn't be a problem anyways. Both sockets are new, everything is grouded. Still isn't working
Did you figure it out?
Nope
This might sound crazy…is the bulb in right? Upside down maybe? How is the rear wiring harness? Is it unmolested? If you see signs of aftermarket splicing could be an issue.
My experience with the headlight switch when it goes bad is the headlights flicker or suddenly go out when you need them the most like driving at night lol I have yet to see one that affects markers or turn signals…likely the rear harness somewhere.
Pretty sure its your directional switch.i have the same problem but I keep getting switches that don't last.all made in china.
@@joemeraz3240 it was actually my high low beam switch on the floor 👍🏻
All good now 😎
