    Another benefit is less load on the stock wire and Headlight switch, which was a notorious issue for Ford for about 30 years, they always undersized their headlight lead wiring, LED draws alot less so even with the smaller guage wiring it does wonders. Later Trucks were more well known for headlight wiring fires, but even on Dents it was the same switching system.

      Hell yes, brother. That is one of the bigger questions I get messages about and I'm glad you hit this up.

    • @LockedAndLoaded4x4
      @LockedAndLoaded4x4 3 роки тому +1

      Yeah it tends to be a fairly hot topic, alot if people used to run a relay system off the power wire and then lead fused power from the battery with a larger wire to feed the old sealed beams, this is actually what modules for HID do nowdays, same base concept. 👍

    I want some for my Traxxas RC 1979 Bronco.
    Because that's all the Nanny State of Texas will allow me to drive.

    I do love what LEDs have done for vehicle lighting. It is so nice being able to see. We put ones that have the halos and turn signals on the Vanagon. It does look pretty cool.

      Absolutely. I was thinking of getting some of them and testing them after I saw them on the Vanagon. There is a ton of vehicles that run the 7" round headlights. I need to come down and check out the ones on it in the dark and see how the beam on them is.

    I love them for sure!!! But do they make the round ones for a 1969 Chevy?? I’ve been definitely wanting to upgrade all my lights to LED lights!! But the price of some of them are just out rages & im definitely not wanting to spend over like 50 to 75$ but I probably can spare another 10 or 15$ ea if they are definitely brighter!! Awesome video buddy!!

      They do have some round ones and I'm going to pick some up for my earlier fords and see how they work bud. There are several out there and they are all pretty close on the cost. Some may be cheaper but then you have high shipping and handling.

    Hah! What sort of violent monster installs Phillips trim screws with an impact gun?! The headlights look pretty good. I'd be interested in comparison shots of how they compare with the old ones for distance down the road, not necessarily brightness up close.

    • @PaperBeatsRock
      @PaperBeatsRock  3 роки тому

      I am a monster lol, Yeah the impact was a bit over kill but do to pacing for the video I didn't want to use a normal screw driver. As for the comparison with the old one for distance down the road I thought I had covered that @8:45 but if that's not what your meaning then let me know what you want to see for distance. Thank you.

    • @cwegga
      @cwegga 3 роки тому +2

      @@PaperBeatsRock Thanks for pointing that out. I went back and watched that section again. It is a pretty good comparison there. I guess, mostly it's just hard to tell without being there in person. I have a cheap set of LED headlights, the ones with multiple rows of a bunch of small LEDs and I'm pretty unhappy with them. They are very bright, but don't project light out far enough to really feel ok at higher speeds. I've been considering the type you got as an alternative that may work better, trying to avoid spending on the JW Speaker ones that everyone seems to universally like.

    • @PaperBeatsRock
      @PaperBeatsRock  3 роки тому +1

      @@cwegga I said something on the video but didn't point it out enough. The LED headlights with the multiple rows are just Off road lights built to only flood the area with light. They just took out the middle normal leds and added hi beam that flood even more. So they don't achieve any deeper vision because there is no focused light.
      I'm going to be doing a review on some 7" round headlights from the same manufacture as the 5x7s I got. They are a knock off of the JW Speaker headlights but I really don't want to spend $300 plus on headlights. I may do a side by side review of some down the road.
      Anyway the depth of view is pretty damn good and at no times when I was going from 25mph - 65mph+ did I ever feel like I couldn't see enough ahead of me. Granted also this is coming off the halogen and it was kinda scary driving at night with them.
      Hope this helps bud and if you have any other questions I'll be happy to help out.

    • @cwegga
      @cwegga 3 роки тому

      @@PaperBeatsRock Yeah, I just went out to the garage and checked. Mine aren't DOT marked. I'll have to move up replacing them. They were from the PO who seemed to really like cheap LEDs. Within the first year or so, I had to replace the failing dome light, dash light, and marker light LEDs with good old incandescents. Bonus, I was able to remove the electrical tape blocking the high beam indicator because with the correct bulb in there it isn't blindingly bright. I also kinda like the goo green stock illumination of the gauges.
      When I replace mine, I could send them to you and you can do a video on why they aren't good. XD

    • @PaperBeatsRock
      @PaperBeatsRock  2 роки тому

      No upgrades to the harness. 100% plug and play and it actually draws way fewer watts because they are LED and that really helps with the crappy wiring that is in these older ford trucks.
