  • Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s widow Crystal Hefner lived with “Hef” in the Playboy mansion for 10 years. The mansion lifestyle revolved around lavish parties with celebrities and Playmates, but it wasn’t always a good time for Crystal. In fact, she began experiencing brain fog, anxiety, and other health issues. In a candid conversation with Dr. Daniel Amen on an episode of his show Scan My Brain, Crystal discussed her struggles with emotional and cognitive health and explored what might have been causing them.
“I’ve had a really hard time recently,” she says, adding that she has been diagnosed with many health conditions. “I feel kind of like a shell of my former self.”
    ‪@CrystalHefner‬
Crystal spoke about her search to discover the root causes of her issues. She began to suspect that the famed Playboy mansion, which was originally built in the 1920s, might be contributing to her brain health problems. Despite the fact that the mansion was a sprawling property with over 21,000 square feet, Crystal spent the vast majority of her time in a small space called “the vanity.”
Concerned about the air quality and the possibility of mold in the area, she eventually brought in a mold inspector who told her, “There’s mold everywhere. There’s fungus in these vents right above where you’ve been sitting for the last 8 years.”

Crystal was expressing clearly that Hugh Heffner was like a dictator and that many of the women in the "mansion" were broken. To call Hugh Heffner an American icon is to glorify an evil man who helped to degrade a lot of women and lead a lot of boys and men down a path of lust, irresponsibility, and sin...nothing iconic about that. I hope and pray Crystal will find healing and her identity as a beloved daughter of God her heavenly father.

Hefner had almost like a Charles Manson type hold on young impressionable women, only Hefner didn't have them kill anyone, but this guy was a pure scumbag. I fell for his "savior of free speech" BS but this guy's influence I believe prevented rapist Cosby from being prosecuted. Only after Hefner died, did Cosby be prosecuted. Mold inside the mansion, disgusting human being he was.

    • @hughhaefner3317

Yes, these women, while many of them came into the mansion with their own evil and moral faults from the start, numerous women were taken advantage of and were very young and impressionable felt that if they didn't comply to the sexual sadistic activities then they had no chance of becoming their dreams of becoming a star. These men are despicable and are criminals in my opinion. I have often heard Hef speak of how he thought he was a great part of changing the way society viewed sexuality, when really what he did was run a free brothel using women that really did not want to be passed around sexually like a dumb piece of meat. Most of them were highly intelligent but found themselves in a position of nowhere to live, no money and probably low self esteem. I'm glad the truth is coming out and I hope Hef is rolling over in his crypt and that Marilyn Monroe is flipping him the finger in the crypt next to him. And disregard my name, it's purely coincidence.

To be blunt most people at some point have hit their head but no one ever looks so no one ever knows. So all the people above, like most people have hit their head. So hitting a soccer ball that is going 65+mph with your head, damages your brain, falling 15ft of high bars damages your brain. Getting slammed down by another wrestler or football player damages your brain. This is only one way you can damage your brain. Basically that means we have a global issue with brain health. Wow, i bet the black mold made the neurological and PHYSICAL damage from the chronic stress of severe NARCISSISTIC abuse was just like a black cloud. I only visited my boyfriend's residence daily for a COUPLE months when I was 17 and the ceiling and walls were absolutely COVERED in black mold and damp. I can't believe I even... I get very icked out and the house was disgusting, typically I'm tidy. I was desperate for anyone who assigned worth to me. Even after a couple weeks of exposure, I developed asthma even when I was OUT of there and it persisted for a few more months after we broke up. It was awful. Truly. I can't freakin imagine living there. About 2 years ago we moved out of a home with a lot of hidden water damage and yeah... I was fortunate that a lot of the home was dry but... Underneath our couch... The floor was basically mush, mold had contaminated the couch but we had no idea as it seemed to go downhill rapidly, just had a third baby in 4 years and just didn't pull out the very heavy bulky couch to vacuum or anything in over a year... Yeah but the kitchen floor started to pool with drops of water. I thought I was just going crazy, I dunno. It just didn't scream out water damage to me. The mold was concealed behind the washer and dryer in the master bath, then mold started growing on things in the master closet (it wasn't necessarily black, it was white and green specks, I was about to discard a $300 barely used jogging stroller bc well... Unfortunately renters insurance refused to cover anything unless the personal property damages were $1k+ and I was like SERIOUSLY?! Then the landlord tried to get us for the repairs and renovation even though we had to move out last minute a month before our lease ended which meant we had to find and pay for a new rental as well as pay for a damaged house WE COULDN'T EVEN LIVE IN BY DICTATE OF THE AGENCY for a month and a half (we didn't want to stay as the laminate was coming off the kitchen floor, it was just not safe). It was so stressful trying to find a new home, thank GOD my parents were able and generous enough to financially assist us considering they were furious that a pipe was leaking in the wall without our knowledge, mold was reported during the annual inspection the year prior yet... Yeah, they were gonna try to bleed us dry for the $30-60k renovation. We barely made $30k a year as a family of 5 at the time... There was just no way. Luckily my dad hired a lawyer and it was dealt with. I just couldn't believe the audacity of the agency manager. Yeah, I had a 4, 3yo plus a 5 month old staying in a hotel for a week by myself pretty much while my husband would work on moving after work. Please believe it was no reprieve for me considering I couldn't block them off from any room in that hotel and ugh... No sleep was had for me whatsoever while moving. But I was grateful we were moved in a couple days before Christmas 2020. However, I still had to drive 20 minutes to and from my oldest's special needs pre-k whereas it used to only be 5 minutes away. I'm also married to an emotionally/psychologically abusive narcisst (not all the time but when it's a devaluation/discard phase, which happens more frequently and for longer as time passes, it's just completely draining) So, I can only imagine what crystal went through with the environmental and psychological and sexual abuse. I'm sure she had to deal with a lot in her time and married heff hoping to get something out of all that trauma. Hopefully she was compensated well and is doing better now.

Also if you look into the early background's of the women that stayed in the mansion they had early childhood trauma or losses. I think when a girl looses her father , her need to fill that with another may be something they end up looking to another older guy, for support eg a hug , not sexual activities , as a father figure wouldn't go there. But instead they see n Hugh as father figure that could give financial stability not thinking of what HE wanted from them, he only helped them in modeling etc for financial gain, exploiting them for serial gain too, they on the other hand become humiliated , controlled, abused physically and mentally. They only gained financial?? He prayed on girls looking for a father figure , that's what I get from it all. And he wasn't only patted on the back by Hollywood he was pushed to the top. I guess he invited actors to the mansion so he could exploit them too, you can bet their were cameras in bedrooms and wherever else . He was nasty peice of work, I feel so bad for the girls I really do , they all were looking for help of some kind .

Poor girls who lived with Huge Heffner. It's crazy to think that even their mothers were to young for him, and all these people treated that like it was perfectly normal for him to be dating 18 year old girls. I know older men that treat young woman like daughters but they are normal. It's fine to be in a relationship with someone younger but for goodness sakes this guy was in his damn 80s. Ridiculous!

Boosting serotonin and increasing frontal lobe activity is a common treatment for depression and ADD. You don't need a brain scan to do this diagnostic. The 5-htp amino acid for raising serotonin by having the body produce more serotonin is a bit different from the SSRI Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors such as Zoloft which raise serotonin by reducing the body's reuptake of serotonin. The SSRI's proved more effective than increasing serotonin production. 5-htp is non prescription over the counter supplement. One of its physical effects is it causes stomach upset.
I think Crystal is probably aware, but her celebrity status makes it difficult for other people to not use her to get some of that attention with includes doctors. My grandmother and Hugh's mother Grace were roommates in college and remained corresponding friends till my grandmother's death Jan. 1, 1982. The stories from my grandmother, which I took as confidential, painted less than fun times at Playboy in the 1960s, which is frequently the case with family run businesses. Hugh was a workaholic until the late 1960s when his family convinced him to pull back. His mom was in charge of the girls staying at the Playboy mansion which had an exclusive girl's dorm. His, Dad, an accountant, dealt greatly with the businesses aspects of Playboy. These were highly intelligent and broad thinking people and measuring up to their expectation to create a worldwide publication empire largely independent from other publishing companies was a nearly impossible task. That is what they did and it had never been done before, for an influence base in the billions of people worldwide in the 1960s. To be in the fast lane with that family is humanly impossible for anybody with an IQ much below 140 and a broad world view.

She keeps looking up almost like she is reading a script at times. Interesting how she admits now that everything in PB mansion wasn't like it should be yet ripped Holly for what she said years ago. I think it came across as living in a fantasy land and many women wanted to be a part of it. Yet I'm willing to bet the ones that lived there were all victimized to a certain extent. Too bad they couldn't be vocal (other than Holly) while he was still living and make him answer for what he did.
