Oh Dame I was so happy when you pulled that Largie from the road 😃 I was worried that Charlie would be the only one to find buttons and other relics; I'm glad that you both made excellent finds ☺👍
I love doing old cellar holes. The lead that you found is how they used to seal the food cans back in the day. You guys probably know this but some cellar holes could easily be from logging camps. When they logged vast tracks of land they would build camps and guys that logged lived right out there in the woods in them, sometimes for years. The logging process wasn't nearly as fast as it is today and so it took a lot of time. That would explain more amounts of axe heads and saw blades and that kind of thing in one area if you pay attention to that stuff.
Charlie when I seen that first item you found the first thing that popped into my head was Telegraph tapper. I don’t know if that is right but that’s what came to my mind. Thanks for another great video stay safe and god bless
Thank you Charlie and Dame for such a nice Sunday. I got to watch tons of your videos for hours of entertainment and history lessons. I love finding new diggers (to me) and getting to know you virtually. I look forward to watching every episode until I hit present day. Happy treasure hunting.
Charlie - Your relic at 3:38 could be part of handle to an old coffee grinder or a handle to something that needed wound. A good recovery on the coin for Dame too! Take care & be safe!
Well done Dame on finding the British copper, congratulations and in the road too lol. Apart from the dandy you found Charlie I believe the rest of the buttons found were smaller though it's great to see the different types of buttons that are found the fancy one really caught my eye. I'm glad you and Dame found the homesit you were looking for the other day Charlie, you are making further notations on your maps sweetheart. Its been sunny here but dark clouds are gathering I think, dratted rain I dont need it lol. Thank you gentlemen for a lovely video, you've made my afternoon much brighter. Good luck and happy hunting/hiking God bless you all love and hugs to you both and NinJen Mary-Ellen LFOD
Hi guys, great afternoon in the road and there in about some. Coins, buttons and a few curious finds. Terror Root coming this summer to a theater near you. 😄 Thank you guys. Joyce. ARROW *🎱. 🇺🇸. ❤️
Thanks for sharing the hunt and finds. I laughed at the Midwest comment as I fought roots and multi floral rose all day today. 🤣 good luck, happy hunting and take care.
Something I learned with my first good metal detector. I learned in front of my property in a rural area of Oregon, that there was a coin about every 5 to 20 ft on the side of the road. And because people could drive up to 55 miles an hour here, I figured the coins could bounce as much as 10 ft off the road. So I would definitely go back there and walk the whole road each of you take one side and go at least four to eight feet off the side of the road also. I wouldn't be surprised if you found a coin every hundred feet in that area. The other thing is, if you can figure out where the old unofficial rest stops people would stop their cars at to go in the bushes and relieve themselves, that's another good area to go check out in the bushes because people lose stuff when they squat down. That's my tip for the day. Those were some great buttons you found. I was surprised that the Lincoln memorial penny being there. Wonder how long ago that house was there?
Buddy of mine was finding buttons in Freehold NJ. Three feet away was a pair of shoes buckles. They found the head stone in the other direction. Unreadable but the shape was exactly right. He'd stumbled on to somebody's family grave yard long forgotten and retaken by the forest.
@14:31... Green Mountain Boys MAGIC! @ The base of that tree: TINY DAME! How does he do it!? Would be helpful to know. FUR SURE make it easier to check under those ever-present root obstructions. 🤔 🦋
That item you found at 3:50 looks to me like the end of an old telegraph key. What that might be doing at a colonial site is beyond me! But finding a Lincoln is weird too.
Great finds guys. Just found the channel and I’m enjoying it. Could you tell me what kind of pouch you’re using and where you found it? Thanks in advance .
you guys have me convinced to start saving for a metal detector. I'm in Ma and am always finding random trails and have been curious about metal detecting. Watching your videos has me fascinated and commited. how do you define 'public land'? As in, not Trustee or National Forest? Would I be in trouble if I detected at the Quabbin Reservioir gates that use to have towns?
So Dame gets after the chimney stack, gets nailed twice then retrieves a penny for his persistence, and of course DC just keeps his reputation as Mr. Button (thanks you very much) which is indeed a very nice Not Thursday in the road

That tic toc video is going to become part of the world's vernacular. You were a happy, happy guy! Thanks!
Just think of all the old things that must have fallen off the wagons that were using that road way back then. Simply amazing. Love the video!

Looked to be a good “Not Thursday“ kind of day. A lot of different treasure to be found. I really enjoy watching your videos 👍
Nice place to detect at. Great job guys! Love that New Hampshire scenery.
I have to agree with "Real Eyes Imaging". That first item is a coffee / spice grinder handle. Great site. Thanks, guys.
Nice!

Nice coin find, Damian. All around nice find day. 👍🇺🇸
Seeing you two walking down the trail with your metal detectors makes me think of frontiersmen exploring the wilderness carrying their flintlocks
And No Tick's!!!!! Dream!!!!!!
@@aldenunion mostly chiggers these days. Hate Em.
Happy Digging 😷💙
That small coil really isolates the signals nicely! Great button day!!
Thanks for sharing the hunt and finds. I laughed at the Midwest comment as I fought roots and multi floral rose all day today. 🤣 good luck, happy hunting and take care.
Awesome finds!
Enjoyed watching N.T once again ✌
Viewer from SE MN here. 1700s! Jealous! 1800s is as old as we get with relics here in MN. Jim Parry, Backroads Metal Detecting
Congrats Dame on the KGII Copper. Sometimes it does pay to play in the middle of the road!
Enjoyed thank you!
Thanks 👍
Good stuff guys way to go
Superb hunting guy's, well done
Good day in the woods of N.H.
Shout out from 03276
Thanks for sharing with us. Very interesting.
Always dig those roads. Stuff was always shaking loose from people on those bumpy carts.
Nice finds!

Love the relaxing detecting videos!

Great to see you finding a bunch of good stuff! Cheers, Paige C.

Nice video.
Digging under root trick is good to know, Thanks!
Charley, Your first relic looks to me like the side of a spur that would connect to the leather strap.
I was thinking telegraph tapper thingy.
@@lauramiller4701 That was my immediate thought too
@@lauramiller4701?.
enjoy your shows thank you
Awesome videos!
Could the first find possibly be from a morris code tapper? Not sure what they're called, but thought I would share my thoughts.
I agree.
Yeah, seems a Morse code straight key
Grinder handle?
First thing I saw in it. Off a key

Nice job boys!!!!!
Wow lots of things 😊👍👍👍🇺🇸
And that's how we get under roots 😎👍
Checked out your channel and really like it. Just subscribed. Thank You.
That riveted object reminded me of an early Telegraph Key.
Excelente busquedad y aventura . Saludos 👋 desde Venezuela Ciudad de Maracaibo
Great finds guys. Just found the channel and I’m enjoying it. Could you tell me what kind of pouch you’re using and where you found it? Thanks in advance .
“Had to go through some root terror to get it”
*cuts to Charlie furiously chopping roots like there’s no tomorrow*
Hey, what if that first find was from a telegraph station, seen your woods there have evidence of those thru your videos.
Good channel
you guys have me convinced to start saving for a metal detector. I'm in Ma and am always finding random trails and have been curious about metal detecting. Watching your videos has me fascinated and commited. how do you define 'public land'? As in, not Trustee or National Forest? Do you metal detect now? How is it going for you?
I'm enjoying this! Your metal detector sounds like (mars attacks)
The first thing that came to mind with that first relic was that it's a broken morse code key.
That' s exactly what I think.
That was my first thought also
Thanks y'all 😊
Awesome!
I agree probably handle, but my 1st thought was old telegraph
With as many miles that you trek I'm surprised you don't leave your detectors on all the time. I have found some cool stuff that way.
Cool
The Midwest has roots if you’re swinging around an old house or in the woods😉
Pretty sure I saw Mangled Shank open for The Buzzcocks back in '87.
Pepper grinder handle... maybe for grinding crack though too.
Robert morris lost that in 1753 😢
The first relic you showed was part of an old telegraph key...copper or brass?
Dammit, Boys, I want that British coin! Dame definitely has the luck of the Irish!
Charleys first find looked like a pepper mill crank that broke off imo. I’m always wondering why so few redware shards show up at those sites.
That’s what I was thinking, that or a coffee grinder.
When do you think you’ll hook up with the rest of the gang? Great video, thanks.
We are working on it. Everyone is welcome 😁
So Dame gets after the chimney stack, gets nailed twice then retrieves a penny for his persistence, and of course DC just keeps his reputation as Mr. Button (thanks you very much) which is indeed a very nice Not Thursday in the road
What ever happened to the fort you guys were building last fall??
OSHA shut that down
What do you do with pieces you find that are older then 100 years on public land?
I am new to this and I am curious are the buttons worth anything? Besides treasures to us?
The first thing you dug charlie I think it was a telegraph handle
the first item you found is a tap part of a telegraph machine? possible?
Wat wit the 3 holes in the tree at the start?
The first piece u could likes like the tap coder for the old time telegraph machine
that first thing is posible old telegraph . look like?
First find looks like a fishing reel arm
The first relic looks like a pepper shaker grinder handle
We have roots in the midwest
That first relic almost resembled an erring back.
Must have been a real issue with thread back in the day.
Hi Guys the first thing you found .looked to be a telegraph tapping handle.
You know If they had a gate on that road might be a good spot to look !
