Can I just say that as a beginner in met detecting, and an absolute lover of all things history related, I am so impressed and inspired by how you guys are able to take what looks to be regular old woods, and paint an amazing picture of what was once there. I aspire to be able to read the land like you do, and I live on property that has at least 3 very old homesteads! No standing structures or anything. So I will definitely be getting out and trying to apply what I've learned watching you all. Might even find some relics while I'm at it. Thanks so much, and keep up the good work!

Lots of people moved , not very far , for reasons that we might not be able to see . My grandfather located on a source of surface water , moved later when he dug a well , moved a third time after roads were built to be closer to the road, but all within a half mile

One of the comments said something about"Blair Witchy"...
Your posts are a much higher caliber than that trash.I made it through the first ten minutes of that amateur attempt to scare little kids...
I usually can sit through the worst movies ever made, but there's a limit even I can't abide....
Y'all are doing well and I appreciate your posts...I subbed you some time ago.
    I don't do that often...
    No hoopla.
Just interesting and informative walking around in the woods...And, you actually find relics dating back a couple of hundred years.!
    Love it.👋👍

I have poked around CT a little bit, near an old farmstead and all I ever found were rifle and shotgun shells and foil wrappers from gum. It's not as easy as it looks. Digging down into dirt isn't like sifting through sand. Plus you have to go in colder weather so the bugs don't eat you alive.

The small wall area where you found the button under the large root may be a small barn. I’m a volunteer firefighter. Last Friday I responded to a barn fire. It was a small building with stone walls and large timber. You said a wood shed to maybe. I thought it was too small for a barn. I’m not sure how to research the area for me to rent a metal detector to search the area of the building that had the fire. The structure wasn’t affected by the fire. The leaves and things inside was what burned. The building is surrounded by houses that were built around it. We accessed it with a hose line through two peoples side yards. Another firefighter grew up in the area before the development was built. He said there was only that structure there when he was a kid. He said they used to pay in it.

That was some hike through rough ground but you found a wonderful homesite. I wonder how they managed to live in that spot as the surrounding area isn't good for many things. I had to look at the holes out spoon piece and cant think what it was used for, it's a mystery that I hope someone will solve one of these days, I do like a mysterious object lol. Maybe you can help! Actually I know you can. Lost a gold wedding band(my father's) I bought a pin pointer and a non number registering metal detector. Am thinking I lost it in a friend's truck. How do I tell it is my ring and not the truck? I also carry a magnet seems like I could find something. You are so fun to watch.

I'm always amazed by these finds because America is always said to be a young country. And yet there are so many places that have remains of prior civilization even if they were the early Americans. So many homes have been built and then torn down by the next generation. It would be nice if the next generation would have things easier because of all the labour put in by their father and grandfather.
