Funny to think about that revan wanted to commit genocide on the sith-empire. To be fair he was 300 years in stasis and the emperor study him so genocide is always justifite when you stand on the "right" side of history.
Great video. With the Mandalorians, I do love that there is shading to them. With the Cathar we see the Mandalorians at their very worst, at their darkest. The Mandalorian principles of honour, professionalism and discipline are perverted by a charismatic leader, just as the Jedi were corrupted by Revan’s leadership. They’re wild, uncontrolled, brutal and unapologetically cruel. At the same time, we also see the Mandalorians at their best in other periods. Canderous and his Mandalorians become stalwart defenders, not conquerors. Sabine Wren in Rebels is, again, another type of Mandalorian: fiercely individualistic, free, a warrior, Mandalorian at heart, but not bound by her culture. Din Djarin is still more different, treating his Mandalorian culture almost like a religion, but sticking to his own code. They’re all different expressions of Mandalorian culture and all absolutely fascinating. I find myself really wanting to know the story of that ancient Mandalorian Jedi, just to see how those two belief systems intermingle within one person.
Wow, this forces you to re-examine KOTOR in so many ways. Now I understand why Revan did what he did. He was a hero, regardless of what happened afterwards.
The Mandalorians were truly merciless, and Revan knew this. The only way to beat this kind of evil - Was to use the same evil against them. But in doing so, he somewhat lost himself. But was that loss justified? Perhaps.
@@100StarWars After learning about this genocide, I think he was still justified in some way, even if the Jedi Council was right in the long run. A truly compassionate Jedi would find it very hard to ignore such atrocities. Yes, Revan just learned some very difficult lessons along the way.
Another great video Luke! I remember Canderous in Kotor talking about how he went into war with a Basilisk war droid. They way he speaks about it, his emotions, the details of Mandalorian war.. Canderous is who got me interested in the Mandalorians.
The Mandos were pretty much scum during this war, even nuked a whole planet at one point. I am still confused as to how a group of Jedi joined them willingly in KOTOR War.
Generally speaking, genocide is already a mass endeavor by definition. The title made me think they were committing a multitude of genocides across hundreds of worlds like Necrons or Reapers. It's kind of like saying "a windy hurricane." LoL
I’m begging you please do a full timeline breakdown of the Mandalorian Wars. All the big battles the beginning the end. All of it. Make it a multi parter if you have to.
Another fascinating and amazing video my friend, again I always enjoy learning more about the KOTOR era of Star Wars from your videos. Tomorrow the season 2 premiere of the Mandalorian and I'm soo excited and anxious to see it!!!!! Will you be posting a review tomorrow after the first episode? This is the way my friend!!!!!
I haven't forgotten anything about the mandalorians I still kind of like them but I don't like the fact that there a Warrior species like the klingons Who will pick fights for the simple sake of picking a fight Logically both of those species should have wiped themselves out because they love to fight so much
I prefer the brutal warmongering culture of the ancient Mandalorians to Disneys modern passive Mandalorians. I find Pre Visla in the CW more interesting for modern Star Wars though because he wanted to bring that back but was eventually manipulated into making a criminal empire under Maul. The ones in the Mandalorian show are essentially no different than Duchess Satines rule except they pretend to be warriors.
Also, there's the headcanon of Multiverse Theory. There's the Legends 'verse, the Disney Canon Alt-universe, and a whole lot of universes that are part of the likes of Infinities, Tales, Visions, and others.

Completely agree. The faction itself has a Story Arc which is really awesome to see.

Mandalorians are the reason we don't have anime cat girls in real life and I will never forgive them for this.
I... er... guess I can't argue with that
@@100StarWars Bruh

Another great video Luke!
I remember Canderous in Kotor talking about how he went into war with a Basilisk war droid.
They way he speaks about it, his emotions, the details of Mandalorian war..
Canderous is who got me interested in the Mandalorians.
Canderous romanticises the Mandalorians in KOTOR for sure.
Yeah, the Mandalorians were kind of barbaric and evil. No wonder Satine tried the peaceful route.
Brutal , crazy and most importantly honorable
Apart from this one time ;)
@@100StarWars More than just one time.
These are the Mandalorians we are looking for.
Goooooooooood

Every faction has their dark days - And for sure, this war was their darkest.
I think what we should take away from this is that all this happened 4,000 years ago. Cultures change. Nothing stays the same forever.
cultural growth is a beautiful thing!
Haha, Cathar go brrrr.
*Boom*

Good point.I guess that they kind of did so anyway!
I love your Lore videos mate!! Good work
Thank you, Honza!
I love these videos.

Mandos : why the Revan is so brutal with us

Great vid Luke! Loved it!
Appreciate it!

This eventually begins to change after KOTOR
Damn mandos got destroyed by cats
Doesn’t seem that honourable to me
You got yourself a good channel here bucko
Thank you, Connor!
Yeah those Mandalorians are dishonorable cowards
*smiles gleefully* F U N, that's what!
We're so excited to see more Baby Yoda after this crappy year, LOL. Nice video!

Least Based Mandalorians 😎
Whatever. There were cathar all over the place in swtor, so that wasn't much of a genocide.
To be fair this isn’t cannon anymore
it should be it a better story then most sw stuff
There's always truth in Legends

A lot of what you're talking about isn't canon anymore
Canon-shmanon.
Multiverse Theory, sir/ma'am. You should know that.
