    That was a sweet find for 200 bucks and that machine is really in great shape . You can’t find anything that nice around here for that price !! Great job Lee

      Around here , all the suburbans or the GT’s or any other garden tractors go for at least 300 to 600 . Some don’t even have engines and most of them are in horrible shape . There is a guy about 25 miles from my house that has 3 Sears suburbans and he want 300 apiece for them and you couldn’t make one out of all 3 . I look everyday on FB market place !! Have a great one my friend .

      The blind mower guy has several you can probably get one of his-I don’t know if they’re really for sale but I figure I’ll put the pressure on him-ha

    To make it easier to lift the box blade, tighten the lift spring. Single bolt from back, upper left of back plate. Move the lift link from the outer hole to one of the holes closer to the back of tractor. Makes an amazing difference. I have one and have done this.

    The rear tires are worth a bunch. I put a set of 23 X 10.5 - 12 tires on a John Deere, the tires cost $139 . So you got a great deal, on that tractor. Even without the mower deck 😊

      Thanks and I agree the tires are worth quite a bit

      The one thing I didn't understand about the tires, when I was looking for tires the tires I got were actually bigger than the stock size, the bigger tires were $8 a piece cheaper than stock size. I knew they would work is why I got the bigger tires. The customer wanted to keep the cost down as much as possible. I did what I could.

    That is a great machine, I just picked up the hydrostatic version of the tractor myself. It amazes me how poorly people treat their equipment though, this one clearly been sitting outside and rusting away. Mine was not much better when I got it, but I only paid 200 for it.

    There is a spring system on the craftsman. setting on the tractor you will see a bolt at the top of the frame that adjust the tension makes it a lot easier. the spring hooks up at the top of that bracket where the long rod hooks up

    • @MurphyMower
      @MurphyMower  11 місяців тому

      I have never adjusted that, but have suspected it was a part of the system
      Thanks for the information I will go to make some adjustments

    The hitch is real long and it looks like it needs a deck on it as a counterweight to kind of pull down on the whole system to help pick it up

    Around 2015 I got a free one that looked like that but had the hydrostatic drive. It didn’t run. I parted it out selling everything except the back wheels and tires. When I sold the hydrostatic transaxle used the guy wanted a warranty, “a warranty”? I replied with,,,, then I said I’m not a dealer and I don’t warranty old used parts for anyone.

    • @MurphyMower
      @MurphyMower  2 роки тому

      I’m not with it at the moment but it’s most likely under the battery tray
      Just follow the red wire from the starter back and you’ll find it

    • @MurphyMower
