- The Go-Go’s - the first all-woman band to top the Billboard charts with songs they wrote and played - perform "Club Zero" to kick off The 19th Represents, the inaugural summit of The 19th News, a new nonprofit, nonpartisan newsroom reporting on gender, politics and policy. The Go-Go’s are the subject of a new documentary that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was released on Showtime earlier this month. “Club Zero” is the first new single released by Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock and Kathy Valentine in 20 years. The Go-Go's in 2020 are still better than most of the crap produced today.
Oh, hell yes they are
Totally....
Absolutely
@Shaman96 Interesting, what's the purpose of the hoax?
No they aren't. However, it is better than the mainstream garbage being spotlighted and given media exposure.
60 year old women putting today’s younger artists to shame
Age is just a number👍👍👍
Amen!!
From their interviews, they seem pretty happy being in their 60's... Sounds to me like YOU are the one who has a problem... Your comment is ridiculous...
She who holds the camera up close is the most beautiful, she just held up real well. The others still look great , don’t get me wrong♥️
@@stevenwinans3489 What the🙄🙄Did I say something wrong? I'm on my 50s I guess you know what I mean...
So glad Kathy is back in the band!
They can only be the true Go Gos with all five.
Without Kathy they are not the GoGos.
Probably easier to be in the band when you don't have to leave home.
I'm glad the band is back with Kathy.
Amen to that!!!
Go-Go's should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.
For being the first all girl group to write, sing and play...yes. Past that, there's not much there.
if Whitney Houston can make the Rock and Roll Hall of fame this year and not be rock at all, then the GO-GO's who started as punk rock and new wave and pop rock deserve their position. If Blondie can make it in, in 2006, then the Go-Go's deserve their spot. There's not much there in your head.
@@donaldtrump1845 Well said!!
TRUMP 2020
@@1234dahu the runaways and Girlschool came before the go go's but yeah they should be in the hall of fame
Weidlin = badass coolness. Always was, always will be. Rock goddess.🤘❤️
Yep; they're all cool but Jane was always my favorite also...
Belinda was the one that always did it for me!
My fave was always Charlotte ... seemed the most legit to me, the one with the most musician chops and cred, then Gina. Then Belinda. Jane always seemed to want more than her share of the spotlight and always wanted to be more the main attraction. She has always been just an average rhythm guitarist but a decent songwriter. She makes up a lot in "punky" attitude.
I am 49 years old and never been married because I never met my Jane.
Joan of Arc from Bill and Ted!!!
THIS, boys and girls, is what it sounds like when you are wise enough to stay committed to who you are, and young enough in spirit to deliver on that commitment.
And they are really enjoying themselves. Great to see.
No, they made a lot of bad decisions and did self destruct both artistically and business-wise. Charlotte should be dead and Belinda was a monster bitch for decades. It's fortunate for all of us that they grew up and realized their was still value in being a Go-Go.
@@robertnisonoff3907 They’re a good example where time, maturity, wisdom, self-awareness, and the willingness to forgive past transgressions can make the seemingly impossible possible. Theirs is a story of redemption in many respects.
@@kcindc5539 Yes, but don't make statements such as they stayed committed. They didn't for many years. It took them 30 years of not being committed and making bad decisions to finally grow up. I'm glad they did but this is not a story of a band that stayed the course.
@@robertnisonoff3907 sorry but that’s how I see it. And in the future I’d rather you not tell me what statements I can or cannot make. Ok?
Timing is indeed everything. How great to see the Go Go's finally get the proper respect as deserved. Now, it needs to be all sealed and delivered with a proper induction into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame.
They sound great, things don’t have needs.
And that got that today. They are IN.
One of the strengths of the Go-Go's was always the great backing vocals, and it's great to hear that 40 years later, they've all still got their voices. There are plenty of bands from that era who haven't fared so well in that department.
Brashnir Something to be said for not constantly touring for four decades.
Not trying to be contrary but as I was listening to this and I really do think it is great, but during the chorus I kept thinking, "Too bad they don't have the vocal strength of The Bangles." But really, their BGV style does fit better with Belinda's voice.
@@shawnuel
What does BGV mean?
@@fomalhauto Background Vocals
This band is so tight they can play live, isolated, housed in entirely different time zones, and kick a*** even better than on the actual recording. Still in love with you since January 1982!
Absolutely LOVE this kick-ass song.
I love Jane!
It's nice to see Kathy back in the band it just wasn't the same without her.
When your grandma is cooler than you.
LOL
BEST COMMENT EVER!
The GoGos are badass hit makers and don’t disappoint with this fresh and also familiar semi -sweet up-tempo anthem. More please!
You got that right
40 years later and they are still rocking it! Long live the Go Go’s!
“Club Zero” has an amazingly powerful, positive, and uplifting message about not letting our critics and our own self-doubts stop us from achieving everything we want!!
Jane never ages. And still has the same energy from when the band started. Love that woman.
Yes, still cute as ever and a great rocking guitarist. Still my favorite of all the GO-GOs. Glad to see them getting the respect they deserve.
Her hair's all gray.
@@rudolphguarnacci197 and it's totally cute and she's so pretty she can get away with it!
@david hefner
Tell me about it😭
Most online performances are underwhelming BUT NOT THE GO-GO's. I just love seeing them kick ass no matter the decade and no matter the media
So glad to see Kathy back in the lineup, just wasn’t the same! Hopefully they got all that legal shit resolved and they all sound awesome!
When they harmonized the memories of them really hit me.
Belinda's voice is so real, so powerfully personal, and the musicianship is incredible. That jam is TIGHT!
What a great song!
The sound quality of this version is waaayyy better than the official video. HEY HEY HEY HEY..Head Over Heels for a new generation.
They are better live!
You’re right, I bought the song and it doesn’t sound as good. Nuts.
That’s ‘cause this is live
HEY HEY HEY THE GOGOS ARE BACK!!!!!
Man, Kathy is so rockin' it!
Man, this is incredible. Gina still has it! Thank God! I hope I can see them next year.
Way to go girls, all of you are loved.
Damn it, watched it again
They are a blessing to us all.
LOVE how Charlotte gives props to her husband's band, Redd Kross with the blanket on the couch !!!
seeing jeff sneak out of the shot at the beginning was great
@@papabeauxnaire
Wow. Wouldn't have ever picked that up! Thanks!
Jane is ageless, hopping around like she's 20 years old! I LOVE her!!
The Go-Go's were my absolute favorite band growing up. Seeing them live in Urgh! was when I first realized how much I wanted to be them, and how I was a girl all along. So much love. Thank you ladies for the happy memories.
Just cannot get enough of this new song! These girls still rock! Lightening in a bottle!
Love it can't stop playing it over and over! Let's go to club zero!
Jane is still playing her SG, respect.
Pete Lewis And Charlotte on the Mustang, and Kathy on the Fender P. All very classic.
Their song "We Got The Beat" came out when I was in 7th grade. Vocally, they sound the same, which is great. Musically, they've greatly improved and expanded their sound. As a fan of hard rock/heavy metal, I gotta say, "I love this song of theirs." These girls can still kick ass. I love this, The Go-Go's still have it. I'd actually see them in concert if they came to Dallas. I hope they do.
Still got the Beat too!!! and looking beautiful.
Time has been good to them
Bursting with happiness to see them rockin out in 2020!
Wow, awesome tune and Kathy Valentine! Always been one of my favorite bass players. So glad to see and hear them all together. Life is good!
I love the sound of the bass towards the end of the song.
My Girls still Rocking!!! I want to hear more. Please!!!! Love Ya!!!
Yes my girls are back and kicking ass .love it
You ladies still ROCK!! Sounds great....makes me feel all my 80's sounds. Awesome 😄
These ladies still have it, love to see a new album come out, I have this song on repeat
Go Go’s are back! R & R Hall of Fame induction is way overdue!!!
so very true, the only thing missing in your statement is way, way overdue...lol...
This song is amazing! Pure Go-Go's sound and feel. Thank you for making more music!
MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been listening to alot of their music again lately, this was awesome!!! Love the Go-gos!!
The go-go granny's!!! This is my generation so I can say that! Still badass.
Jane has always been the badass of the group. They look & sound great as always.
Love it. Glad to see them back and thriving.
Omg . Love the go gos. I was 5 yrs old when I first heard them back in the 80s . Still looking good after all these years
What an absolutely great song! A welcome edition to their catalog of great songs.🎵💖
Wow what a great song. Love it. Sounds classic. Gotta love five women still together all these years later. Always very talented and fun to watch. Great chemistry.
When I was an 11 year old drummer in 1981, just learning how and what to play I was into Peter Criss, just discovering Phil Collins, Neil Peart and other complimentary players like Dave Houghton and Myron Grombacher. Along came Gina Schlok and she just knows how to lay a tough, consistent beat in these songs and make them as distinctive as the other players in them. Her single-stroke rolls on songs like "Skidmarks On My Heart" and others were as vital to my early development as Bill Bruford or any of the other drummers that followed. Hope she's well and nice to see her back where she belongs.
Been through a lot of drummers in the past 35+ years ... would have traded all (or most all) of them for just one Gina Schok ... as rock solid a drummer as there ever was ... still is, from the new Go-Go's tune ...
Check moon the loon and clem burke
Many people comment about The Go-Go's aging, but what they don't mention is how they are aging soooo gracefully. These ladies have NEVER embarrassed themselves by trying to look and act like they're still in their 20s. They have always seemed very comfortable with their current ages .... it's like, we're 25 and we're gonna rock your asses, and now, we're 65 and we're gonna rock your asses ... no difference. I deeply admire and appreciate that.
I really hope that when this "political virus" is over with, The Go-Go's release at least one more album and give one more national tour. They are one of very few bands that I would pay to see, and yes, they truly deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Sorry... Belinda is not aging gracefully at all... too many drugs and botched botox.
LOVE the REDD KROSS blanket/pillow on the couch!! Charlotte Caffey is married to Jeff McDonald the singer/guitarist.
I'm really glad they managed to work out their differences and are still playing together.
Nailed it. Thanks for being so great. Former deejay that played the hell out of your music. This kills it. Keep rockin.
The absolute cure for the funk I've been in since March!
LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!
I'm very proud of the Go Go's. They sound great!
Proper musicians.
This is the tightest I've ever heard them.
Post covid concert with the GoGos and The B52s!!!
Had to come back and listen again 2x today. Also to cop Jane's moves.
I just knew there was a reason for this band to have a special place in my heart for the past 38 years.
Damn! just realized again. I'm freaking OLD.
Now this is how it’s done boys and girls!
They still and will always have The Beat! 👌👊👍
This is as good as it gets. The Go Go's not only still have it but are better then ever. Love this band so much. Now we want a new album and more great music for your 2021 tour. I really hope NYC is on that tour schedule.
When is NYC not ever on any bands tour schedule lol?
@Nyet Nine that's surprising, a lot of bands I like that come from Europe or Australia will play like 5 places in all of north America and it's a given New York and los Angelas will be two of them
No this is not better than ever, give me a break! This doesn't compare to Beauty and the Beat and Vacation, however, I did see the "Final Show" and they were amazing.
@@Acujeremy correct but it is a great comeback song. There aren't too many artist that can make great stuff 40 years after their debut album
@@jlobiafra They only have a few albums.
Been on a serious Go-Go's kick lately... I have know idea, how I stimbled upon this. I'm so glad I did,
it was awesome to see this!
Hi Jane👋
This music makes you want to Go-Go. One of my all time favorite bands. They're right up there with among the best bands like Van Halen in my opinion. You ladies still rock!
This was a great surprise. Classic band lineup & as always, a fun time. Thank You
Love it! 🔥
I was a hard copre Go-Go's fan until I read Kathy's book. really opened my eyes.
LOVE ❤️ THE GO GO'S sooooo much. Thanks for my best 80's memories.
OMG! 😃😃 Just trolling and seeing the 1st single in 20 yes by Gina, Jane, KATHY, Charlotte and Belinda!!🎶🎶🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎹🎸🥁💿 Yes, GOD BLESS THE GO-GO'S!!
Amazing!
Thank you for the new music Go-Go's! Love you all VERY much.
IT HAS FINALLY HAPPENED!! The GO-GO'S have been short-listed for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!!!! Please go to the R & R H.o.F. web-site and vote for them to be inducted! THEY DESERVE THIS!
Its common knowledge that the Gos -Gos have always been very a good stage/live band. They are semi live for the reason of being able to provide a video in the time of the pandemic. They could easily do a first rate live performance if you put them all on the same stage ( you will see one in the future, after the pandemic, Hall of fame induction?) And in my opinion it looks like like some of this is preformed live by some members of the band. The production and editing are top notch . This video can stand on its own merits. Actually this is very timely and relevant. They seem to be doing a Zoom conference -Go-Go style. Great energy, done with dedication and pride.
Love the band documentary, this new track and it's message! Go! Go-Go's!
I saw them at the Garden back in the 80's...still love them!
Kathy back where we love her the most. I love you young lady your bass playing ROCKS!!!
Pure magic... these ladies were meant to perform together.
Love this. I also love Charlotte's green Jazzmaster.
They continue like the first day they began to surprise you and they continue to surprise you with their renewed music in the style of THE Go Go`s. They are spectacular, congratulations on this new success.
WOW!! 👏YOU GO, GO GO'S!!👭👭💥🎸🎶🎤🙌🙆love you girl's! 💚💛love from Texas! 😎
Love the new song. Super catchy and fun. Look forward to hearing more new stuff. Wish you all the best and stay safe. The GoGos are BACK
And of course they’re still amazing!
We need a Go Go’s concert! Make sure Miami is on the bill! Love the song! You girls rock! Great song!
I love this so much I can’t wait to see you guys in concert you guys are awesome
Kathy Valentine...my childhood crush back in the 80's.
I had a crush on Gina and Belinda 😍
Kathy now looks like Annette Olzon former lead singer of the Finland metal band Nightwish.
They still sound like the GoGo's😄🤘
They are now voted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That is one show I seriously want to see.
Just watched their documentary on showtime. Good stuff
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ One heart for each of you beautiful ladies.
The Rock Goddesses are on to something. The world needs a GoGos Album to make it all right again. Let this be an example of how awesome a whole album would be. The world needs our GoGos!
The GoGos always rocked hard when they played live. They were a real ROCK band. And still are.
Go Go's are timeless and HOF stuff ...

Wow! Fab! Fan! Tastiiic! They still sound so good! And they all look as good as ever!
Brilliant ladies, great to see you all together again :-)
listen up kids.. I saw the Go Go's at My Fathers Place in Rosyln Long Island before many of you were born -- this was around 1979... I was a teen, I had a major crush on Charlotte and Belinda. They are still amazing
So great to hear the GO GO's again. Hopefully I will get a chance to see them performing live.
Love me some Go-Go’s. Looking and sounding great in The Year of the COVID!
Damn, I love these women!
Love you girls! So Happy that you are back recording. GOD BLESS THE GO-GO's
