Well kind of the problem there is that the rainfly will dump rain between the end of your tent and the front end of the truck bed. It doesn't appear that you have actually used the tent, you just set it up. I can see where rain would be a problem. Dunno for sure about Guide Gear (a Sportsmansguide brand) but compact and full size truck tents have a rain fly that will allow the rain to run down between the bed and the cab of the truck. Otherwise you end up with a lot of water collecting in the bed and that WILL penetrate you tent in a short time.
J Hans I used it a few times and it worked great. I ended up selling the truck though and purchased the sportz tent for my new truck. To be honest I actually liked the guide gear tent gear tent better. The sportz tent had more headroom and bigger door but the guide gear was much cheaper and used less poles leading to an easier setup.
Goody's ATV-thanks for the info. I think they must still make them because they are selling them new on ebay but they are around a $100. You must've got a deal on yours. Thanks bro!
Would the regular truck bed tent fit the stepside Silverado? I’ve been looking for one for 2003 Silverado stepside like yours but couldn’t find one.
what was the size of that air mattress for the Stepside Z
Thanks for the video.
thanks for posting this. I've been wanting a tent for my step side also. now I'll be looking for a mid size truck tent for it.
Was this the "compact" size or the full size? Have the same truck
This was the compact
@@BeastlyWarrior228 what size was the air mattress
@@huskyhunter5044 just a cheap single. I ended up spending some good money on a nice sleeping pad from rei and don't regret it at all.

Actually yes I have used it and once was during a rainstorm. Water collecting in the bed wasn't an issue, it just drained out the front.
I'm thinking of getting the same tent. Do you still have/use it? Have you had any problems with it? Any leaks or anything? Thanks!
