I have wanted to be able to play this song for years now. Aside from it being a wonderful song...my brother died 13 years ago. He was teaching our friend how to play this. My friend finished learning it and played it at my brother's memorial service, which was held on the banks of the Hood Canal with mountains all around. It was gray and cloudy. After this song, which marked the end of the service and the beginning of the scattering of ashes into the canal....the sun appeared with a gorgeous rainbow. This song holds such a special place in my heart. Thank you for teaching me how to play it.

Your method suited my learning style perfectly and I can't believe how much I have learned...and the calluses I have on my fingers!! Wow! I have been playing ukulele for 2 years and I felt so discouraged because I felt like I was still at a very beginning level, over the past week, I have gone through and watched all the ukulele challenge videos, and it has helped me improve so much! I have never been able to chuck no matter how hard I tried and I am finally getting the hang of it, I also have become so much more comfortable singing while strumming and fingerpicking which I thought I’d never be able to do! Thank you so much for this, I will keep practicing all the new things I have learned and then go through the 30 day course because I want to make sure I don’t fall behind or get discouraged again

The world has a ukulele madman anymore! A big thank you to Bernadette and to UA-cam! Two years ago, I had the crazy idea of buying a ukulele set up on Amazon with a book and DVD. That did not work. 3 months ago, I became aware of 30 DAY UKE CHALLENGE and picked up my starting ukulele and since then I have not left it. Now - after 3 months - I have been practicing all 30 Day Sessions - and I am the proud owner of a Concert - and a Tenor Ukulele - on which I enjoy playing Piano Man - Imagine - and Somewhere over the Rainbow …with a modest voice sing. Audience-effective and already blind goes "Have you ever seen the rain"! The 30 DAY UKE CHALLENGE is perfectly designed to motivate and to teach somebody like me - without any previous musical knowledge - to play the ukulele. Thanks again for the excellent pedagogical approach!

Hi Berndadette. I bought a ukelele back in November to keep me sane during the winter months of lockdown. I love music but I have no musical background and no knowledge of musical theory. I tried to learn the acoustic guitar a couple of years ago and I got discouraged as my fingers were quite sore and I found it very uncomfortable. I was feeling a bit positive last winter and I thought it would be good to use the dark months to try something new so I gave the ukelele ago and I found your lessons randomly on youtube. I can not say how much progress I have made in the last few months and although it was very difficult at the start ( some songs took me nearly 6 weeks to learn!!) it feels like I am learning a new language. It takes practice and only with practice you get better and before you reach the next level you have to master something basic and boring first. I found your method of teaching incredibly intuitive and very well structured for absolute beginners. I feel I have learned so much and it would be great if you could do some sort of beginner-intermediate challenge at some point to follow up on this. I have been so lucky to follow you over the last few months of winter and I am so happy I managed to learn something from scratch just with youtube videos. How wonderful is that! Thank you for the music, for this journey with the ukelele and sayonara!! :)
Hi Bernadette! I have just finished the 30 day challenge, although admittedly it took closer to 90 to get through it and do it well. I cannot thank you enough. I spent months trying to learn and got no where until I found you. Thank you for making me love ukulele! I practice every night after work and on weekends and feel like I am making good progress. I have been using your tutorials for some time now but only learnt of the 30 Day Challenge recently. I loved every minute of it. I confess I did it over several days because I have been playing for 18 months now but it was a great refresher, I learnt new things and discovered some of the things I have been doing wrong. Thank you for doing this. Your tutorials are so easy to follow and I feel more confident playing in my uke group now. Love the Piano Man tune. The Uke is such a"happy" instrument - thank you again for bringing more joy to my playing.

I found you when I bought my ukulele 3 months ago and didn't know where or how to start my ukulele journey. Now I've just binged the videos, as you said, and I'm a bit proud of the progress I made from scratch. That is to your merit. It’s crazy that this is over and even crazier that I kept up! I have been so pleased with your gentle and incremental instruction. You are a great teacher. I’ve been practicing this song for about a month, and I must say, it’s improving! Thanks so much for this challenge. Maybe the next challenge could be a strum pattern one where we learn how to play different genres and identify them whenever we hear a song we want to play.

I finally reached the goal - a bit too late, but I kept going after I fixed my new strings. Thank you so much, Bernadette! I had so much fun with your challenge, learned a lot, bought my third Ukulele, play everyday and learned playing and singing many songs. Last week was really worse for me as I had a miscarriage... but with what I learned from you I was able to turn all my sadness and tears into music and learned "fix you" from coldplay to let it all out. That was the best therapy for me. I would not have been able to do this without your Uke-Challenge. Thank you so much!

It is colored with many, many small dots in different colors. I keep it as a memory and it feels a bit as if this small-dotted-Uke is a present for me from our "small dot".
Just got my ukulele a 2 weeks ago, and I am able to play 6 songs and 15 chords! I am so happy. Thank you for these awesome tutorials. They are so understandable and perfect for beginners. And I just subscribed!
This was a really enjoyable group of sessions. I did them more in bursts than one per day, but some of the concepts are familiar from playing guitar. But you covered a lot of the things I needed to reinforce to start building more confidence in my Uke playing. On to the 30 Day Song Challenge!

Gosh, I can't believe I made it to the end! This was my second attempt at this challenge. My first time I stopped at Day 5. This time around I was determined to finish it, so I gave myself a lot of extra time. Having set a deadline for the end of the month to finish this. Well I needn't of worried as I didn't miss a single day! I've wanted to be able to play an instrument since I stopped playing after leaving school over 20 years ago. And now I can quite happily say that I'm a novice Ukulele player with pride. This challenge has brought me so much joy this last month, which in turn has brought joy to my day when I'm not playing. Thank you so much Bernadette. I really can't thank you enough. The lessons and increasing difficulty were perfectly paced, and I felt encouraged and supported the whole way. I will definitely be doing the other challenges on your channel.

I have experience in piano music theory, but had no clue where to start with a uke. I've been wanting to learn to play an instrument for years. I have a guitar and keyboard piano that I struggled with and thought I'd try the ukelele since so many people have told me it's a more accessible instrument. Thanks to you, I can now play all the songs from your challenge and I feel empowered in looking up songs on my own to teach myself! I never thought I'd be able to play an instrument after my previous struggles, and I just want to say thank you so much for your amazing instruction throughout this 30 Day Challenge. I'm working through them step by step. Some take longer for me to feel confident with then others but progress is being made. Thank you Bernadette for such a comprehensive 30 day course introducing the ukulele from technique through musical theory and beyond. I know music as a player of the piano, flute, trumpet, harmonica and mandolin. I have taken a crack at the guitar, my wife's Martin D-28, but have found greater comfort and ease learning of the ukulele. The structure of your lessons are impeccable when it comes to growth and know that with all your higher education degrees, the compassion and instruction, even on-line feels quite personal and is appreciated. I can't wait for the next challenge which is likely to be the 2021 Chord Melody Challenge. Keep doing what you do so well and your base and I will be along for the ride. 🎻🎷👏

I can play Imagine perfectly and Have You Seen The Rain and Stand by Me are almost there. It’s insane the progress you can make with an excellent teacher!

I have been playing ukulele for 2 years and I felt so discouraged because I felt like I was still at a very beginning level, over the past week, I have gone through and watched all the ukulele challenge videos, and it has helped me improve so much! I have never been able to chuck no matter how hard I tried and I am finally getting the hang of it, I also have become so much more comfortable singing while strumming and fingerpicking which I thought I’d never be able to do! Thank you so much for this, I will keep practicing all the new things I have learned and then go through the 30 day course because I want to make sure I don’t fall behind or get discouraged again

ukulele set up on Amazon with a book and DVD. That did not work. 3 months ago,
I became aware of 30 DAY UKE CHALLENGE and picked up my starting ukulele and
since then I have not left it. Now - after 3 months - I have been practicing
all 30 Day Sessions - and I am the proud owner of a Concert - and a Tenor

Hi Berndadette. I bought a ukelele back in November to keep me sane during the winter months of lockdown. I love music but I have no musical background and no knowledge of musical theory. I tried to learn the acoustic guitar a couple of years ago and I got discouraged as my fingers were quite sore and I found it very uncomfortable. I was feeling a bit positive last winter and I thought it would be good to use the dark months to try something new so I gave the ukelele ago and I found your lessons randomly on youtube. I can not say how much progress I have made in the last few months and although it was very difficult at the start ( some songs took me nearly 6 weeks to learn!!) it feels like I am learning a new language. It takes practice and only with practice you get better and before you reach the next level you have to master something basic and boring first. I found your method of teaching incredibly intuitive and very well structured for absolute beginners. I feel I have learned so much and it would be great if you could do some sort of beginner-intermediate challenge at some point to follow up on this. I have been so lucky to follow you over the last few months of winter and I am so happy I managed to learn something from scratch just with youtube videos. How wonderful is that! Thank you for the music, for this journey with the ukelele and sayonara!! :)
Hi Bernadette! I have just finished the 30 day challenge, although admittedly it took closer to 90 to get through it and do it well. I cannot thank you enough. I spent months trying to learn and got no where until I found you. Thank you for making me love ukulele! I practice every night after work and on weekends and feel like I am making good progress. I have been using your tutorials for some time now but only learnt of the 30 Day Challenge recently. I loved every minute of it. I confess I did it over several days because I have been playing for 18 months now but it was a great refresher, I learnt new things and discovered some of the things I have been doing wrong. Thank you for doing this. Your tutorials are so easy to follow and I feel more confident playing in my uke group now. Love the Piano Man tune. The Uke is such a"happy" instrument - thank you again for bringing more joy to my playing.

It’s crazy that this is over and even crazier that I kept up! I have been so pleased with your gentle and incremental instruction. You are a great teacher. I’ve been practicing this song for about a month, and I must say, it’s improving! Thanks so much for this challenge. Maybe the next challenge could be a strum pattern one where we learn how to play different genres and identify them whenever we hear a song we want to play.
The ending to this series was so rewarding! I love playing these last two songs.

Thank you. For me music is the best help. When I got my positive pregnancy test I ordered my third Uke as a present for myself. It is colored with many, many small dots in different colors. I keep it as a memory and it feels a bit as if this small-dotted-Uke is a present for me from our "small dot".

Just got my ukulele a 2 weeks ago, and I am able to play 6 songs and 15 chords! I am so happy. Thank you for these awesome tutorials. They are so understandable and perfect for beginners. And I just subscribed!
This was a really enjoyable group of sessions. I did them more in bursts than one per day, but some of the concepts are familiar from playing guitar. But you covered a lot of the things I needed to reinforce to start building more confidence in my Uke playing. On to the 30 Day Song Challenge!

Gosh, I can't believe I made it to the end!
This was my second attempt at this challenge. My first time I stopped at Day 5. This time around I was determined to finish it, so I gave myself a lot of extra time. Having set a deadline for the end of the month to finish this. Well I needn't of worried as I didn't miss a single day!
I've wanted to be able to play an instrument since I stopped playing after leaving school over 20 years ago. And now I can quite happily say that I'm a novice Ukulele player with pride.
This challenge has brought me so much joy this last month, which in turn has brought joy to my day when I'm not playing.

I've been wanting to learn to play an instrument for years. I have a guitar and keyboard piano that I struggled with and thought I'd try the ukelele since so many people have told me it's a more accessible instrument. Thanks to you, I can now play all the songs from your challenge and I feel empowered in looking up songs on my own to teach myself! I never thought I'd be able to play an instrument after my previous struggles, and I just want to say thank you so much for your amazing instruction throughout this 30 Day Challenge. I know that you did this challenge a while ago, but I am new to ukulele and I must say, you have made my learning as a complete beginner so pleasurable and positive. I played the first time in front of my family and friends at my wife's and my 40 anniversary party, and I know your instruction help give me that confidence to play. The song was "Can't Help Falling in Love" It was the first song we danced to at our wedding.

Thank you Bernadette for such a comprehensive 30 day course introducing the ukulele from technique through musical theory and beyond. I know music as a player of the piano, flute, trumpet, harmonica and mandolin. I have taken a crack at the guitar, my wife's Martin D-28, but have found greater comfort and ease learning of the ukulele. The structure of your lessons are impeccable when it comes to growth and know that with all your higher education degrees, the compassion and instruction, even on-line feels quite personal and is appreciated. I can't wait for the next challenge which is likely to be the 2021 Chord Melody Challenge. Keep doing what you do so well and your base and I will be along for the ride. 🎻🎷👏

I will spend the next week just practicing these songs, chords, and scales and relaxing before moving onto the 30 day Song Challenge. I can play Imagine perfectly and Have You Seen The Rain and Stand by Me are almost there. It’s insane the progress you can make with an excellent teacher!
