I just recently got a Philips dual camera doorbell. It's really nice, one covers the front door and super wide angle area, other covers the floor area so you can see when packages are delivered. 2k and works really well but it's some serious money compared to the Tapo. It's battery powered but you can hardwire it if you want. Your camera certainly wins on bang per buck, can't beat it for the price I'd say.
Comment from a 30 tapo devices user from Singapore…love this tapo door bell will definitely add one to my smart home surveillance system. Oh btw, leaving the door bell outside there’s a risk someone may just grab & take it away, so imo maybe i will be installing it outside in a metal casing, only the camera & the door bell push button will be exposed. Thank you so much LifeHackster for the awesome review😉👍😍🤩😎😇🙏
Hello mate. Thanks for the review. This actually looks unbelievable. Quick question. Do you know what the difference is with this model and the Tapo TD21? They look to be the same, even has the same price, but of course, they're separate models. Also, does the chime have motion alert? Any help appreciated 👍
I was excited when I viewed your review. I was wanting to order a couple until I read a number of reviews where they mentioned poor battery life. Because of that, they returned them. Perhaps you could do a follow up review later on and report your findings on battery life. Thanks.
Will do, I had the D225 installed since I reviewed it and currently still have 85% battery life left and with minimal use and detection. With the D210 after all my testing, it still sits at 97%.
good video as always, want to ask, what happens if the chime and the doorbell itself is to far away from each other? Will it still work? Is the chime itself connected to wifi or just the doorbell?
@@LifeHackster Hi, there. Partnership seeking. I have sent you an email(check the name Alex), could you please give me a reply from your inbox. Thank you😊
Just set mine up today, I am impressed so far, I have tried to change the chime tune but it keeps going back to the default tune, anyone know how I save the selected tune.
Good review. That SD card placement is bad. Would alarm sound if the SD card is removed without taking off the doorbell? Or could this be linked to one of the docking hub to save the footage? Tapo should at least include the snapshot in the notification, like Eufy or Aosu, without paying for the subscription.
Too bad its not a replaceable battery pack so when it no longer holds a decent charge one could buy a new battery pack. Looks like with this one you just throw the whole doorbell away and get a new one.
Thanks for the great video, bought the same model about 2 weeks ago and it's been absolutely fantastic. You could technically wire it up with a USB C charger connected to an outlet, but you won't get 24/7 recording like on the D225. Great review, you make really good videos bud.
Could you please show me how to put window mount for Tapo C125 which is only available in Best Buy? I couldn't do it, it doesn't show video in the night due to reflection
@@Its_A_London_Thing Same, customer support told me that td21 has newer software, not too sure how true that is lol. If you look at the tapo website side by side the spec is 100% identical BUT it does say td21 is NEW so I'm happy with that. Perhaps it might be to differenciate it from the d225 model? Shorter name for the lesser model
Can't understand the appeal of having to be without a doorbell for several hours whilst it charges the battery. I have just replaced another Chinese no-name brand with a Tapo D230S1 and spare rechargeable battery for that very reason, and am so glad I did.
What smart doorbell and flood light security camera do you use for your house? I have the battery ring doorbell plus now. Ring sent me that one because my ring doorbell 3 plus audio got corrupted. Idk if I wanna stick with ring doorbell after that so I’m looking for other options rn.
It is a standard star screw that secures the SD card? If so, that is not very secured. Anyone could remove it with a screw driver, and it does not matter how long it takes if you do not have cloud because as soon as the have the SD card, they have the evidence!
I've seen other reviews for this doorbell, it's pretty good. Being battery powered, how well does it work during a power outage? You should try testing it in those situations with or without a wifi router that has a battery backup as sometimes the ISP still works during a power outage if your modem and router have a backup battery.
With the micro SD card installed, it will still record motion events to it even when power is out and if your router/model has power, then you will still be able to get notifications and access the camera.
They’re absolutely rubbish. The battery drains at an alarming rate and Tapo’s recommended solution is to switch off features that drain the battery - by the time it stops draining fast you have to turn off all the useful features. It also sends constant alerts that the battery is draining too fast when it’s idle i.e. there haven’t been any motion triggers or doorbell presses. Those alerts can’t be turned off like all the other alerts. It also provides a lot of false alerts even with settings adjustments recommended by Tapo customer service. You can also easily remove it with a pin. An alert telling you it’s b been stolen is pointless if there’s nothing to slow them down like wiring. It’s also got the memory card located at the bottom where it’s easy to remove by strangers who don’t want a recording of their presence retained. I returned mine and got wired one.
I really like tapos cameras I have the MagCam and it's a really good camera I just wish it had some of eufy features but other than that it's a really good brand.
You do amazing reviews. Thank you.
Glad you like them!

Looking forward to your review of the Reolink Battery Doorbell!
:)
I was about to say this
So I don’t need subscriptions but can I do live feed when it’s rang on my phone and also see old montion
Detection on app with out subscription
I bought the TD21. Thing is, it only works when the app on my phone is open. What am I doing wrong?
How many sounds have? If is no power is not working anymore the chime? This door bell is working with hub 200?
I got the brutal D1000 it's the latest technology doorbell cam .... comes complete with a built in boxing glove and pepper spray function
I just purchased this and it works great!
Great to hear!
just wanted to say your review on the levoit quite fan saved me a lot of hassle trying to find a true silent fan, thanks so much man!
When I check my UK site for D210 I can't see the anti theft feature but its available for its more expensive versions D230 and D235. So confused
good video as always, want to ask, what happens if the chime and the doorbell itself is to far away from each other? Will it still work? Is the chime itself connected to wifi or just the doorbell?
Ist safe to.just use the stick instead of the screw?
Just ordered one of these. Looks a cool bit of kit.
It’s a brilliant doorbell and it works well. I have one.
Amazing. Even this low priced doorbell has a higher resolution than Ring.
Thanks for watching!

I can’t find any answers to this question anywhere:
How many users can get the tapo call when someone rings the bell?
I have to test this but I’m thinking anybody that has access to the account in the app, will get the notification but only 1 can answer.
I would love to see you do a review on the Tapo D235 Doorbell.
Can you install it in a angle like the Blink doorbell?

awesome product. Great price. Just bought it

Tapo is still working to get it integrated with their H200 hub.
Can i used it without SD card or it's a must❓
Can I tap on the app on my phone and watch the live feed through my phone? Thanks.

I just installed mine. I like it, except my chime doesn’t make any sounds when motion is detected. Is it supposed to?

D225 can be wired to a AC adapter or some usb adapter?
The person detection is quicker than I thought for being battery powered.
very good review thanks
What height is best to install the Wyze Cam for better focus?
Can’t seem to find info on the chime- is it 110-240v? Can a second or third chime be added?
Its 110-240v. I dont know if you can add a chime.
Could you please show me how to put window mount for Tapo C125 which is only available in Best Buy? I couldn't do it, it doesn't show video in the night due to reflection
This looks like a great doorbell, sadly not available in the UK yet. Interested to know what is your actual doorbell that you use?
its already in Uk
We have the TD21 model. Looks to be identical, so I'm not sure why the different model numbers -

@@keithvlogs1 - bizarre, mate! 😂 I'm thinking it may be something to do with the UK/US voltage, or something to do with power... Not a clue! 🤷♂️

One thing you can do is to charge it at night or you can use a power bank to charge it while it is still mounted.
I wpuld just connect via usb c to my outdoor outlet...easy peasy 😂
Does anyone know how long it will likely perform before it starts having a problem, or just breaks? 5 years? 10?
I charge it in place lasts months
my ring lasts me 2-3months on a charge, this should be even better
Thanks L.H.
Thank you too!
Thanks dude

How to do multiple monitor
How many people can login at once on the app?
I have an android tracfone will this work ?
As long as it is a smart phone and you can download apps.
Does tapo have a wired doorbell for 24/7 recording?
The Tapo D225.
Very impressive 👌
Thanks for watching!
great job!

Hi sir i forgot my tapo camera password how to find it now please give me solution
There should be a "forget password" option in the app.

Philips driver. You can sign up for cloud recording if you are concerned about it being stolen.
if anyone steals SD card it would need formatting once removed so data is safe....
Great review. Unfortunately a wifi jammer would disable it.
Is this for battery operated ones or WiFi ones?
Yes, this is WIFI only but with the SD card it should still record the event unless they remove and steal the doorbell too.

not longer use it how to deactivate doorbell camera D210
Thanks
Welcome
Sold mine is on the way.i am replacing my wyze video doorbell
They have d235 too
Thank you for the review mate! Quick question, there is a 3mp and 5mp option for D210, which one did you test?
Thanks again
They seem good. It's a shame they are so blocky. They look as they were made in the 90's.
cool
Can’t somebody just swipe the SD card?
They can. They will need a small Philips driver.
