On those O.S engines they use Small philps head hex screws. Because of that i use a good screw driver have a extra Snap On #2 and # 1 that i use just for Rc.
I wish removing the backplate with my Reedy and Ninja .21 engines was that easy to come off with using just fingers, I did remove the backplate off the Reedy with a heat gun around the back of the block at 60 degrees and using multi-grip pliers but the Ninja backplate needs a jack hammer it's really fused into the block and i'll probably destroy the outer edge of the backplate trying to remove it.
