- charge blade is a really fun matchup on scorned but unfortunately his element hitzones are dogshit and charge blade is almost as slow as gunlance. to get a sub 7 run you just have to pray for him to do good moves for 6 minutes - in this run i managed to pray hard enough and he gifts me some really great moveset patterns.
his back legs when not in hellfire mode theoretically have a 25 hitzone. in practicality you rarely ever land saed phials on these, so even though the fish cb has natural rampage 3 slot, i use bloody heart over elembane since it's more consistent and impactful. i also opt for just element exploit 1 instead of 3 and slot a bunch of ele res decos because i'm not expecting to constantly hit 20+ element hitzones.
obviously there is one big fucking whoops moment in this run at 5:48, which is absolute bullshit, idk why he was pulled in that direction instead of into the starburst bugs. if it wallbanged properly this could've been sub 6'40.
otherwise i don't really make any notable mistakes in this run. there are some minor optimisations though, i.e. at 1:48, 3:32 and 4:12 i should've stood in a better position so i could get the axe hit of SAED on his pink arm - since the phials in this matchup are so weak the axe hits do matter.
theoretically with even more perfect ai charge blade can probably reach the lower end of the 6 minute range but you'd have to grind it for months on end... i've already been doing this on and off between other runs for a couple months.

How do you know if Magnamalo is going to slam his fist once or twice? It's something that I'm really confused about. Whenever I do guard points when he's slamming his fist, I'm confused if I'm going to wait to guard point again or do SAED
when he's mad and starts a combo with fist slam or starts with the backflip into a fist slam, it'll be a double
if he does the big spinning drag move it'll be followed by a single fist slam
when he's exhausted there's something about the sequencing or animation that telegraphs a single or double
